It’s not about demographics. It’s about stacking teams. And it’s currently within the rules, which is unfortunate to teams who don’t have the the ability to consolidate the athletes from six high 5a high schools onto onto one team, but still play 5a D2 football against teams who don’t have the ability to consolidate players to a single team.

It’s just not anything to be proud of… that’s all I’m saying.

How did TJ, Lincoln and SFA stack up against the Indians back in the day, before they consolidated into PAM?

Just have to recruit better, thats all.

When TJ closed they had a winning record against PNG….

I strongly believe with a healthy Bailey this game could have went either way. We had some very unlucky plays or that game could have been easily 14-14 at the half with our backup qb! The turf monster got us on a couple of plays that would have been TD’s. Most PNG fan’s that have watched both of these team’s play knew we wasn’t winning without Bailey. I’m not talking down on our younger QB but Bailey has been through the fire and was 34-2 as a starter! Our defense pretty much took their run game away! The score got away at the end but our defense played their butts off! As for as the kid kicking the player on the ground, it was more like a nudge on the ground. After every play there was pushing and talking going on. Pakronos don’t even say a PA kid hasn’t done anything like that! I’m a PA man born and raised and watched a lot of PA sports! I watched grown adults cheating in the youth leagues in the playoffs by picking up kids from teams that were already out of the league to try and win the SB! Yeah teaching kids that cheating is ok and then getting caught and kicked out of the playoff’s.

The game could have gone the other way had PNG had their QB…. Especially with the lopsided way the refs called the game.

they really did all they could for PNG, and grown men are still here whining.

You’re missing my point. If a Golden Triangle school could pull athletes from the entire Jefferson/Orange/Hardin County area while still maintaining a 5A D2 sized enrollment, they’d be competitive, if not beat SOC. The athletes would be comparable, but facilities, community support, coaching, etc would outdo what SOC can offer. But geographically it’s not possible here in SETX, but it is possible in Dallas because the attendance zone is smaller in geographic size.

The situation isn’t wrong, but it’s not really fair, either. But using a magnet or charter system to form a super team, then being proud of the fact you beat teams who aren’t able to consolidate athletes from a 6 school attendance zone isn’t anything to be proud of.

Example…. Our local youth football league (STJFL) takes on all players, then fields teams accordingly. Some cities like ours (population 8,000) would field two teams for each age range because that many kids signed up. Then you have one of our neighbors (population 50,000) put together a single team. They hold tryouts, cut kids, etc…. It’s a select team.

If your select team drawn from a pool of 1300 kids is beating the 30 kids assigned to a team from a pool of 90 kids… it’s nothing to be proud of. But I think it’s a flaw that isn’t seen as a flaw in some communities.

But y’all have recruited another fine team this year. Congratulations on your “win.”

Yeah lil chewy it’s apparent to me you’re missing the point.  Every time you use the word ‘recruit’ we can easily see under your skirt. You’re in an emotional pain and it’s rather difficult to have a logical discussion with the type. I mean, to continue with that “recruiting”assertion is just silly.

One of the BEST white coaches in Texas High School Football History went to one of those black schools (Duncanville) on the I20 corridor, dripping with talent, and couldn’t even make the playoffs. Blackman Samples goes there and immediately makes them a National Contender.

Another white coach took over at Desoto when they were ranked #5 in the nation based on their talent. I don’t believe he made it to the playoffs. Blackman Mathis goes back and they’re a national contender, again.

so your delusional assessment of the coaching ability in our community is bereft, to say the least.

SOC’s entire defense was offered by Louisville in 2013/14, and they didn’t make it past the 3rd round

I went to SOC when they had MORE talent than they do now. They promptly went 1-9 or 2-8 every single season. The weight room consisted of one bench… that’s it.

Y’all never cried about the talent until we learned to win with it.

We saw one school towns dominate Texas high school football all throughout history. We never whined about y’all benefiting from players being in the same program since toddlers. Having an entire town to choose from when picking  and cutting. Having facilities that we couldn’t match. Always miraculously getting the best black athlete across 4 counties to transfer in right before High school

But you want to discount the efforts of Jason Todd’s staff and the program they’ve built brick by brick. That’s cowardice and clown behavior….. and don’t worry, we didn’t expect you to notice

it’s not SOC’s fault that they are located in a talent rich area….. so are all the inner city schools in Fort Bend, Richmond, Houston, Fort Worth, Austin, San Antonio , the rest of Dallas.

By yall’s theory, there should be a dominant inner city school all throughout the nation, but what you don’t realize is that SOC is somehow the only one 🤔:we’ll take that over the appreciation of some backwood trailer inhabitants.

I’m not entirely sure you and the other crybabies thought your positions all the way through on this matter, and that’s to be expected
