OldBuc77 Posted November 10 Report Posted November 10 I haven't posted anything in quite a while a while, but checking out the state playoff brackets I noticed something. Given that the southeast Texas teams in 5A D2 8 are now in region 2 instead of region 3 the following is highly unlikely but theoretically possible: Say PNG (since they are the furthest east of the 5A D2 8 teams) wins region 2 and a miracle happens in region 1 and an El Paso team wins region 1. You could have 2 teams well over 800 miles apart playing in the state semifinal game. Even if it were a team (still unlikely) from Amarillo it would be over 700 miles or Lubbock over 600 miles. It would also be unlikely but theoretically possible that the semifinal game for regions 3 and 4 could be 2 teams from San Antonio, literally a few miles apart. Just another interesting probably irrelevant observation for your consideration.... Quote
