UT alum Posted 8 hours ago Report Posted 8 hours ago (edited) According to AP wire reporting, between August and now the National debt rise $1 trillion. That’s faster than any time aside from the pandemic in history. How’s that fiscal responsibility working for all you Weasel heads  (insert something else that is not breaking a rule)? thetragichippy Posted 6 hours ago Report Posted 6 hours ago Perhaps the Democrats should allow and not fight....maybe join in and embrace DOGE and cutting unnecessary expenses...... The problem is Democrats will scream he is taking away all the social programs.....fact is, we probably need to take away some. I think we need to tighten up the qualifications for all social programs. I think we need to re-look at unemployment benefits. When I was 19 or 20, I went and applied for unemployment and I didn't have to accept a lower paying wage than what I was making.....I ended up getting a job because the line was too long back then to wait....(that is how lazy I was back then lol) - Now days it is done by computer, so you don't even have to get off the couch......That needs to change! Anyway a few links were Democratic leaders were trying to block DOGE from doing their job to cut waste and abuse...... I'm all in favor of reducing spending and that includes trimming social programs. However, I'm not in favor of an ax wielding approach with no real plan or consideration to cause and effect. Cutting billions here, then turning around and giving billions there (other countries) accomplishes nothing financially. Anyone that wants to brag on our economy has their head in the sand. Maybe it'll change.. waiting to see Got a $486 electric bill last month (wasnt even hot for ac to constantly run or anything) highest its been since I bought this place September 2023... normally runs around $upper $200s low $300s.. guess it was price gouging from wood cty electric Quote

baddog Posted 4 hours ago Report Posted 4 hours ago What was CUT was the dems gravy train in USAID. Boo hoo. One would think everyone would be outraged at that fact. I have questioned several of Trump’s recent moves, so lockstep is a pet term dems use against me and is useless and nonsensical. I have a 3 BR, two bath house with an add-on den. Just totally changed out the HVAC due to age of the old unit (still worked) and leaks in the duct work. Average electric bill is $250-$300 per month from Entergy. Maybe electrical bills are geographical like gas prices. When Trump left office his first term, gas prices were $1.85 for regular. I know all the lefties will make every excuse in the world for Biden, but he pulled the plug on the Keystone X pipeline and he shut down the oil leases on federal land. We haven’t recovered as of yet, but they are coming down. Having faith in someone doesn’t require lockstep, it’s what they voted for…..huge difference LumRaiderFan 1 Quote
