• Subacute sclerosing panencephalitis (SSPE) (a rare, long-term complication that can develop years after measles)

They have been eradicated but viruses are kept in labs for research. Just don’t let Wuhan or Fauci get hold of any and we should be ok. Of course smallpox requires no gain of function. It’s very deadly already.

Where did I say we had a measles “party”. I said chickenpox because even waaaaaaay back then, we knew chickenpox as an adult was very bad. It’s known as herd immunity.

If you’re asking me, the Teacher’s Unions & Randi Weingarten politicized the CDC worse than any one. They saw to it that all credibility was lost.

When CDC never corrected the 6 foot rule, and let the Teacher’s Unions dictate policy, it became a disaster.

I seem to remember Trump & DeVos actually saying they would withhold funding from schools that didn’t reopen. But, Weingarten and her TDS ilk in the other unions threw a hissy fit, and that was that.

So, basically liberal idiots that cared nothing about kids used politics to destroy a lot of people’s faith in our scientific organizations, and the CDC nor AAP corrected them, even though they both recommended 3 feet & reopening schools.
