She is not calling in the guard to supplant or even support local law enforcement. She has evidence of an emergency in her state. Trump does whatever he wants without evidence. Even contrary to evidence. Numbers he doesn’t like he calls fake and rigged. DC can’t vote Rrump out. New Mexico residents can vote the governor out if they don’t like what she does. You MAGAs thrive on false equivalency. Quote

That’s the problem. He fakes emergencies to exert his will. Authoritarian. Quote

But, it has been far from civil down here for a while. More personal attacks happen down here than any other of our forums. Boyz N Da Hood 1 Quote

More personal attacks happen down here than any other of our forums. Tell me about it. Sadly it’s a reflection of the state of political discourse in this country. It’s certainly not a pissing contest to me. It’s what happens when norms are broken and ideology is weaponized. I just try to stick to the facts as I see them. When it turns nasty ugly, I don’t like it but the rules here seem to hold pretty well. 50 years ago I worked for Herman Adams in the state Capitol building. The house was primarily Democrat back then but Herman had friends among the Republicans. As chair of the calendar committee he didn’t shut them out. All representatives were there to help their constituents and promote the general welfare of the State of Texas. Bipartisanship. Courtesy. Respect for rules and traditions. Common goals, different approaches. Today? Unrecognizable and certainly unsustainable. AggiesAreWe 1 Quote
OlDawg Posted 1 hour ago Report Posted 1 hour ago As one of the few posting here that haven’t voted either ‘for or against’ Trump (Yes, I was one of the 4.5 Million/3.3% that voted for Johnson in 2016, and didn’t vote in the last election), I just try to add some facts vs total opinion. Sometimes, I try to add a little wit and sarcasm. Probably fails most of the time. Many times, what someone posts makes me research more and learn. I like that. Hopefully, what I post helps others think about things from a different perspective as well. Although, not sure If what I link to even gets read. I typically focus on economics and personal liberties. I try to keep up with SCOTUS and the economy. Much of the other stuff posted I have to read about because it isn’t something I would normally seek out. If I’ve offended anyone, it wasn’t my intention. Quote
