Everyone can’t be an American….

The concept of being "able-bodied" was a significant factor in the immigration process at Ellis Island
.
Here's why and how:
1. Medical Inspections:
  • Immigrants were subjected to medical exams to identify and prevent the entry of contagious diseases that could endanger public health.
  • Doctors looked for conditions like trachoma (a serious eye infection), tuberculosis, and others, that could limit an immigrant's ability to work or contribute to society.
  • Those with serious illnesses were sent to the Ellis Island Hospital, with the hope that most would recover and be allowed entry.
  • However, if a condition was deemed incurable or posed a public health risk, it could lead to deportation.
2. Public Charge Considerations:
  • Beyond medical issues, immigrants also had to demonstrate that they were "unlikely to become a public charge," meaning they wouldn't require government assistance.
  • This assessment included considering an immigrant's physical condition and whether it would hinder their ability to work and support themselves.
3. The "Six-Second Exam":
  • Doctors developed quick, observational methods to assess immigrants as they passed through the processing areas.
  • They looked for signs of physical weakness, limitations in movement, or any other indicator of a health issue that might make an immigrant undesirable.
4. Focus on Work Capacity:
  • The system was designed, in part, to select immigrants who could contribute to the nation's industrial needs.
  • Conditions that might limit a person's capacity to perform unskilled labor, such as varicose veins, hernias, or deformities, were among those considered for exclusion.
In summary: While Ellis Island is often remembered as a symbol of welcoming immigrants, it also served as a filter, and being able-bodied was an important factor in the inspection and selection process.

Read your article on the immigration process.  Does this apply?  What made him decide that this is acceptable?

In you opinion is this an exception to securing the border?

To be honest, I’m not sure what’s going on. Are you saying that someone crossing illegally is something you’re against?

Did some searching and came up with this….

Recent reports suggest that
17 members of Joaquín "El Chapo" Guzmán's extended family, including his ex-wife Griselda López and a daughter, surrendered to FBI agents at the San Ysidro border crossing in Tijuana, Mexico. This reportedly happened in early May 2025.
Details of the surrender:
  • Who: At least 17 relatives, including El Chapo's former wife and their daughter.
  • Where: San Ysidro border port in Tijuana, Mexico, where they were met by FBI agents.
  • When: Midday on a Friday, reportedly May 9, 2025.
  • What was brought: They reportedly carried more than $70,000 in cash and several suitcases.
  • Reason for surrender: The reasons for the surrender are not fully clear, but it is believed to be connected to a potential plea deal or negotiation Ovidio Guzmán López (El Chapo's son) is making with the US government. Mexican security secretary confirmed that the family's entry into the US was likely linked to a negotiation or plea deal opportunity with the Department of Justice.
Important Notes:
  • Plea Deal: Ovidio Guzmán López is scheduled to change his plea in a US court on July 9, 2025. This is believed to be connected to the family's surrender.
  • Not Wanted in Mexico: The Mexican security chief confirmed that the family members who crossed into the US were not wanted by Mexican authorities.
  • Joaquín Guzmán López: El Chapo's other son, Joaquín Guzmán López, is also in US custody. He is facing multiple charges in federal court. There has been speculation that both brothers might seek a plea deal and potentially testify against Ismael Zambada García, a co-founder of the Sinaloa cartel.
This event appears to be a significant development in the ongoing efforts to dismantle the Sinaloa Cartel and its operations.

Like I said.  If you have money you’re good.  America can be bought.  Just ask Musk and the Farmers from South Africa who were being tarred and feathered.
