Eagles12 Posted 23 hours ago Report Posted 23 hours ago Silsbee pays terrible, there is going to be a negative over reaction to this hire, I think he will do fine, the negative reaction will come from people’s view of his  lack of head coaching experience, but if they brought in a previous head coach people would say that guy didn’t win enough.  I feel like a lot of people were scared away from replacing a legend with what is viewed as a down year in  talent. The fact that is most people don’t want to take a $15,000 pay cut to hear about how they’ve run the program in the ground all year, when the fact that they had less talent than the previous guys probably had the last 15 years. bullets13 and AggiesAreWe 1 1 Quote

The applicant list wasn't the greatest but good. Money was an issue but also following Joe and taking over such a tradition rich program is a tough task. Quote
Tigers94 Posted 23 hours ago Report Posted 23 hours ago If he can get Silsbee to play defense like PA Memorial, that'll be a good thing. I really hope the Tigers lay off scheduling too tough of a non district schedule these next two years. No sense in getting relentless beat downs. BADSANTA 1 Quote

Mballler#1 Posted 22 hours ago Report Posted 22 hours ago I think Coach Brown will do fine still have to put a few tough Cookies on the Schedule though Congratulations Coach Brown with Silsbee possibly being in Division 2 4a still gives them a chance. T-Lu 1 Quote
Tigers94 Posted 21 hours ago Report Posted 21 hours ago Silsbee has lost high level D1 players on the boys and girls side these past few years. I realize the girl ain't in Beaumont anymore the last I heard, but still. I hope most the kids that'll be coming up can stick together for high school. I'm afraid there's a chance one might not stay, but that ain't for certain yet. Quote

Us Silsbee folks know it was for only Basketball that's all that matters..! Then you probably know he only went to Silsbee for the same reason! He’s a basketball player and as far as I know one of the best in the area,he should go wherever he and his parents feel fit to get his best chance to get to college.. Quote

He should go to a school he either A. Is in the attendance zone B. Has already established residency ( like silsbee) C. If he goes to a school with open enrollment and doesn’t live in the attendance zone sit out the required year.  You know follow the same UIL rules that everyone else is supposed to be following.  By all means he should do what him and his parents feel is best for him, but with that being said if he is going to play at a UIL school it should be in accordance with UIL rules. AggiesAreWe 1 Quote

scoopno1 Posted 1 hour ago Report Posted 1 hour ago I watched a number of his games when he coached at Kirbyville and then watched a few of his games when he coached at Anahuac. When I interviewed him and watched those games I always thought he was a very promising young coach and an outstanding young man. I believed Coach Neace first hired him in Kirbyville before he left for Newton. When he became athletic director in Anahuac he immediately called for Mr. Brown. He is a little different type of coach from Joe Sigler but I bet everyone is pleasantly surprised with his results. Quote
