spidersal Posted Thursday at 09:59 PM Report Posted Thursday at 09:59 PM I have not called anyone stupid or ignorant or negative That would be you folks calling me that. I am glad you believe in the Astros, however that doesn’t mean that they are playing well. When I state that they are not, all these excuses for the team not playing well come out It is good to believe and be loyal as a fan, but to not recognize when they are not playing well IMO doesn’t make sense Quote

Now need a Cleveland win tonight and the Astros will be tied with Detroit for the final playoff spot with three games to play. Detroit finishes with a three game series at Boston. Houston will play at the Angels to finish the regular season. Still have a chance. rupert3 1 Quote

They are playing great considering what has gone on and still be in the hunt. Enough said. They are 11-1 in bottom of 8th baddog 1 Quote

rupert3 Posted Thursday at 10:44 PM Report Posted Thursday at 10:44 PM Scary 9th but win 11-5 Framber 10 K 1 mistake. BP gives up 4 but a win. Go Cleveland AggiesAreWe 1 Quote
AggiesAreWe Posted Thursday at 11:10 PM Report Posted Thursday at 11:10 PM Framber Valdez against the A's: 7 IP, 7 H, 1 ER, 2 BB, 10 K, 92 pitches, 65 strikes, 48 swings, 16 whiffs, 10 groundouts, 89.7 mph average exit velocity. If that was it for Valdez in an Astros uniform, it was a vintage showing. He finishes the season with a 3.66 ERA. rupert3 1 Quote
rupert3 Posted Thursday at 11:14 PM Report Posted Thursday at 11:14 PM Yep San Diago making waves for him. LOL don't use IFs Quote
spidersal Posted yesterday at 01:31 AM Report Posted yesterday at 01:31 AM Yes it certainly is a nice win for Houston. Valdez finally pitches well again and he gets much needed run support When this happens you usually win. Now they need a sweep and help to get in rupert3 1 Quote
baddog Posted yesterday at 01:37 AM Author Report Posted yesterday at 01:37 AM Detroit wins, Boston losing in the 9th. Not sure how much that helps. We just need to sweep the Angels. rupert3 1 Quote

Astros are a game back of Cleveland and Detroit and two back of Boston. If we finish tied with Cleveland and Detroit, we are out. Detroit plays Boston Cleveland plays Texas Houston plays Angels. rupert3 and baddog 2 Quote
Eazy Posted yesterday at 02:53 AM Report Posted yesterday at 02:53 AM Yea, best scenario is Astros sweep Angels and Red Sox beat Detroit 2 out of 3. AggiesAreWe 1 Quote
BEARCPA Posted 14 hours ago Report Posted 14 hours ago 17 hours ago, spidersal said: Was there ignorance in those comments? Absolutely not! The Astros have done very well the past several Years. They simply didn’t get the job done this year. The sad part of some other posts is that you want to look at the past and not at the present They had a bad season with injuries, no one knows whether they have won or not. They may have, but it didn’t happen that way. There is no reason for excuses. Just say they didn’t get it done The one thing that I am definitely finding out for all the ones that want to call my comments ignorant or that my posts are always negative is that these fine folks know very little about athletics They may not watch the games or may not recognize what is going on or simply don’t understand what it takes to win Yes, it is 100% ignorant to think that a team would not be greatly affected by having 30 players on the IL during a season. AggiesAreWe Posted 48 minutes ago Report Posted 48 minutes ago Astros lose 4-3 Now Houston has to win out and have either Cleveland or Detroit lose their final two games. Another loss or a win by both those teams and season is over. Quote
