Going to need to go 6-0 this coming week to have any chance of winning division.

Probably need at worse 4-2 to get Wild Card spot.

This one is basically over. 7-0 in 2nd. 2 out, 2 strike Grand Slam. smh

What’s crazy is literally nobody in the AL had clinched a playoff spot until yesterday.  Toronto is finally in.   6 games to go.  6 teams trying to get 5 spots.

Houston also has the disadvantage of not having the tiebreaker against anyone.  They are only 29-37 since July 7.  A 5-1 finish should get them in for sure.  Good chance at 4-2.  But that ridiculous 4 game sweep by Oakland in late July sure looms large.  Astros are almost as painful to watch as the Texans right now.

That 4 gamer really sticks out like a sore thumb for sure.

Need to pay them back starting tomorrow night.

I agree that Houston has to go at minimum 4-2 to make playoffs.

Mariners have 3 with the Rockies, then 3 with the Dodgers. So I’m saying there’s a chance…..lol

Brandon Walter became the fourth Astros pitcher to undergo elbow surgery this year.

Also, Pena will not be in the lineup for tonight's game.

This team is just limping to the finish line.  I don’t see how they would win a playoff series if they can even get in.

It's quite simple, Astros have to win their remaining 5 games to have any chance of making playoffs. They are a game back of Cleveland and Detroit but in all actuality they are two back due to both teams having the tiebreaker over Houston.

Another loss and it will take nothing short of a miracle (Detroit to keep losing) for Houston to make post season.

Luis Garcia will have some sort of surgery and miss all of 2026.

Also, Hader still isn’t throwing but imaging shows the shoulder is healing. Alvarez is working out in the weight room but not running yet

Detroit and Houston are competing to see who can lose the most games this week and still make the playoffs.

Glad to see them healing up and hopefully they can help the Astros next season

IMO they better find a GM. This one did little during the off season to bring in quality players. They started the season with very few decent pitchers and finished the season that way and they simply couldn’t hit with RISP  They simply played bad after the all star break

 

Absolutely no excuses about injuries, they happen to every team and don’t bother me with stats because it is about which teams win more games
