Tim Burchett (R-TN) recently attempted to force an expedited floor vote on releasing the FULL Epstein files on November 13th, 2025. Burchett pushed for the procedural move during house proceedings , expressing frustration with delays in transparency and calling for a direct vote to publish ALL DOJ - held documents related to Epstein's investigations, prosecutions and connections.Ā The effort was blocked that same day by house democrats....... They would rather drip select redacted emails for political reasons, just like they did with the government shutdown. They don't care about the victims or the SNAP recipients.....they just want to try and gain a political edge.Ā LumRaiderFan, Reagan and baddog 1 2 Quote

You have asked repeatedly why these files havenāt been released during the previous administrations. There are lots of people who know what these files contain, yet they were never released. Hereās a Google search of how the files were createdā¦. The "Epstein files" were not created by a single person but are a collection of documents, emails, contact books, flight logs, and investigative records generated by various individuals and organizations over many years as part ofĀ Jeffrey Epstein's life, his business dealings, and the subsequent criminal and civil investigationsĀ into his sex trafficking network.Ā Key creators and sources of these records include: Jeffrey Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell:Ā They generated many of the original documents, including emails, contact books (often referred to as the "black book"), and personal correspondence like the "birthday book". Law Enforcement and Government Agencies:Ā TheĀ U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), theĀ FBI, and local police departments compiled extensive files during their criminal investigations into Epstein's activities in Florida and New York. Investigative Journalists:Ā Journalists, notably Julie K. Brown from theĀ Miami Herald, conducted in-depth investigations and published reports that brought the case to national attention and spurred further official action. Civil Lawsuits:Ā Much of the publicly released information has come from civil lawsuits filed by Epstein's accusers (often referred to as "Jane Does"). Court orders in these cases led to the unsealing and release of thousands of pages of documents, including depositions and evidence lists. The U.S. House Oversight Committee:Ā In 2025, the committee subpoenaed Epstein's estate and subsequently released tranches of documents as part of their oversight function.Ā The "files" are a mix of voluntarily submitted documents, subpoenaed records, and material released through court orders and government transparency efforts. I was hoping I could get an explanation of why Democrats would block a vote to do what they have been asking to do...... You must agree with my opinion?Ā Burchett's request for unanimous consent On Nov. 12, Burchett requested the unanimous consent of the House so "that the Committee on the Judiciary be discharged from further consideration of H.R. 4405 and ask for its immediate consideration in the House." (The exchange starts at 24:50 in this video (https://www.c-span.org/congress/?chamber=house&date=2025-11-12).) Had the House agreed unanimously (https://www.congressionalinstitute.org/118th-congress-house-floor-procedures-manual/vii-unanimous-consent-requests/) to this request, the bill to force the DOJ to release the Epstein files would have been fast-tracked to the floor for a vote. According to House rules, all members from both parties and committee leadership must consent. Rep. Steve Womack ā the Republican from Arkansas who was presiding over the session ā seemed to consult with, and nod to, someone to his right. Then he told Burchett that according to Section 956 of the House Rules and Manual (Page 805 of this document (https://www.govinfo.gov/content/pkg/HMAN-119/pdf/HMAN-119.pdf)), "the chair is constrained not to entertain the request unless it has been cleared by the bipartisan floor and committee leaderships." In response, Burchett asked to know as a parliamentary inquiry, given Republicans were making this unanimous consent request, whether Democrats were objecting to it. But as Womack reminded him, still citing Section 956 of the House Rules, "it is not a proper parliamentary inquiry to ask the Chair to indicate which side of the aisle has failed under the Speaker's guidelines to clear a unanimous consent request."Ā While it is unclear who blocked this request and why, House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., later reportedly said Republicans (https://thehill.com/homenews/house/5603299-house-votes-epstein-files-mike-johnson/) had brought the request for unanimous consent to fast-track the vote to the floor. We contacted the offices of both Burchett and Johnson to confirm that all Republicans in Congress had agreed. We await a response Quote

We contacted the offices of both Burchett and Johnson to confirm that all Republicans in Congress had agreed. We await a response Burchett's and Johnson's accusation was moot, however. Johnson said the same day he would schedule a vote on H.R. 4405 for the following week, after a so-called discharge petition (https://www.congress.gov/crs-product/R45920) received enough signatures to remove H.R. 4405 from consideration in the Judiciary Committee, effectively forcing a vote. (Burchett made the unanimous consent request after the discharge petition passed.) The 218th and last signature was that of Rep. Adelita Grijalva, D-Ariz., who was sworn in earlier that day (https://www.pbs.org/newshour/politics/watch-live-rep-elect-adelita-grijalva-is-sworn-in-7-weeks-after-election-teeing-up-epstein-vote). In other words, the Democrats ā who accounted for 214 of the signatures ā were instrumental in getting H.R. 4405 to the floor for a vote. Meanwhile, President Donald Trump, who has been named in documents (https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/trump-epstein-email-dog-that-hasnt-barked/) related to Epstein already released, reportedly pressured (https://archive.ph/bDVRI) some House members to stop the vote on the bill to release the Epstein files.
