"HUNTSVILLE'S ROAD: def. Texas City, 10-7 in bi-district; def. Austin LBJ, 54-28 in area; def. Richmond Randle, 14-13 in regional semifinal

THREE TO SEE

Austin Taylor, QB, jr.

He’s an effective game manager and has come up big in the postseason.

TraeShawn Brown, RB, so.

He had the game-winning touchdown last week and is the team’s leading rusher.

Isaiah Collins, CB, sr.

The 6-foot-3, 3-star prospect committed to Texas Tech in July.

PORT NECHES-GROVES' ROAD: def. Brenham, 37-7 in bi-district; def. Leander Rouse, 51-14 in area; def. Montgomery Lake Creek, 30-27 in regional semifinal

THREE TO SEE

Connor Bailey, QB, so.

Forced into a start role early into the season due an injury, he’s thrown for 1,110 yards and 14 TDs.

Isaiah Nguyễn, RB, sr.

He’s been the lead back this year with 1,735 yards and 12 touchdowns.

Jacob Cabrera, LB/S, sr.

He has 10 TFL and his 62 tackles are shared for the team lead.

Good analysis Ipsa.  I think Huntsville is definitely looking for the Iowa Hawkeye type game with the over/under in the 20’s, similar to their 14-13 Randle game.  They need to limit the mistakes, get some 1st downs, run some clock, and make this a defensive game.  If PNG jumps out 14-0, it will be trouble.  A shootout clearly favors PNG.  The Hornets did have that 39-36 game with Brenham, but that’s not the kind of game they want to play here.

I disagree, if DeSoto or Duncanville lose this week, it’s an upset lol!

Westfield would beat Duncanville if they had a great QB IMO. Was still tempted to pick em.......

DeSoto and CH is a totally different animal, that's a true rivalry. Only thing that would surprise me in that one is if no one got ejected.

Sorry for the hijack folks, just responding to a post.

I would be shocked if that score happens.

Specific to this game, you’re right that it’s not really accurate to call a Huntsville win an upset. They’re where they are for a reason, ranking and records don’t matter. Huntsville doesn’t have to be the best 6 weeks ago to beat us. They have to be the best this week.

    • No chance in hell that this pos is found guilty.
    • After his silly conviction, President Trump has raised over 200 Million dollars!  The people are seeing through it!  Excellent!
    • Let’s see if joe biden’s words about no one is above the law, made after the rigged trial of President Trump, rings true with his po💩son.  Hopefully, but I’m not going to hold my breath, they put the sorry sob in prison.
    • I liked his no bull crap attitude. He was a man of very few words. Extremely strong and freaky athletic!!! As close as possible to being the best offensive lineman to ever play the game. I hope his family finds peace without him!!! RIP #73
    • Chester, a small town in NE Tyler County.  A town that is seeing growth with the addition of a national chain store and a new school being built.  If you travel 287 toward Dallas from the Golden Triangle you have probably passed through Chester.  Things tend to stay pretty consistent and it is your typical small town.   A trip to state is the buzz around town, and the talk before church services begin on Sunday.  This year’s graduating class will number 11.  We don’t have a radio station that covers the Yellowjackets.  We are never a lead story on any of the news stations that broadcast to our community. With all that said, there is a closeness and sense of pride in our community.  Every community rallies behind their kids as they progress into the playoffs.  We are proud of our boys as they have represented our community well and with class. We invite you to follow our boys as they go to state.  We welcome the greater SETX communities as honorary Yellowjackets.  Tune in, watch live or come to Round Rock personally and join us in supporting the Chester Yellowjackets.  Go ‘Jackets!!! ⚾️💜💛⚾️🟣🟡⚾️💜💛⚾️
