last season in state title game Gilmer jumped out to 14-0 lead over Carthage.

Surratt got em right at halftime. Only 2 turnovers 2nd half.

1st down and goal for Rusk on Carthage 1 yard line. 4 plays later Carthage takes over on the 11 yd line. Wow. Rusk was trailing 28-14 at that time.

Carthage over 400 yds of offense  rusk -8 rushing and think 100 passing carthage ended everydrive with either a score or a turnover defense bailed em out alot last night almost every turnover was in carthage end of field

Note Carthage had 7 turnovers against Rusk  

muffed punt gave Rusk the ball 8 yard line. 
two fumbles, one gave Rusk the ball inside the 5 yard line

four interceptions, after return Rusk at the 2 yard line. Dawg D pushed them back to the 11 yard line and took over the ball on 4 and out. 
I have watched the best defenses in high school football for 55 years.

Now add in my opinion Carthage 2021

The Dawg offense had to replace 8 of some of the best offensive linemen, QB and running back Carthage has ever had and they are young and have made a lot of mistakes. 
But with this defense we still have a chance for title number 9.

No body has been able to run or pass on this defense except Crosby but we had five turnovers in that game and missing 6 starters. 
WOS versus Carthage would be a great game if they meet. If they do, WOS will have to pass to beat the Dawgs because no one will run on the Dawgs unless the Dawgs commits turnovers. The sad thing is 90 percent of the turnovers were unforced. 
Hopefully that can be fixed before the playoffs begin.
