Silsbee basketball 2020-21

Recommended Posts

I believe this could be a great year for the Tigers. I would guess that there will be two freshmen, two sophomores and one other player on the starting unit. The freshman group is very impressive but you must remember that there were five freshman on the varsity last year and the two groups match very well. Between the two groups they pretty much have a player for every slot and almost can fill every slot on the second team. If they get to play they will have a years experience by play-off time.

Really want to see what Harper and Jones do for their sophomore year. Jones keeps growing. He looks a little leaner and more athletic looking from a year ago. This could be Harper's team now. He just needs to shoot the ball better and he could easily average 15 - 20 points a game. That and stay out of foul trouble.

Some of our freshman can shoot lights out from the 3, in particular Bottley.

Another positive is I don't think we'll be undersized against most the teams we play this year. Was quite frustrating watching some teams get as many rebounds as needed to scored on us early in the year.

I think 3 or 4 rounds deep seems like reasonable expectations. If the region ends up being really weak like it was last year, Huntsville ain't completely out of the question.

I saw some Instagram highlights of a  incoming freshman for Silsbee👀👀. I will say he has a nice jump shot and is extra long and athletic. I saw a drive down the lane one hand dunk! Wow!!! It wasn't Miller either. He will have alot of help!!

Yes...he will be trouble. Was VERY good last year and looks like he grew quiet a bit over the summer.

Got a look at Hardin-Jefferson's basketball schedule.

Let's just say, "they ain't scared".

Is it possible that Hardin-Jefferson will play opponents that are ranked high (top 10 in TX) or play teams above their classification (5A, 6A, or Private).  If they play private, they might have to play teams that recruit. Can't wait to see their schedule.

Just saw out schedule as well although not entirely completed yet... We have home games against Martin's Mill, Navasota, Shepherd, Bridge City, Columbia and 2 unnamed opponents (I'm hearing Huntsville and Livingston) away against Madisonville, Bay City, West-Orange Stark, Orangefield, Leggett, and Crockett so far in non-conference play

    • Okay.  That is a good argument.  There is no law prohibiting the stocks and the Supreme Court was correct by the letter of the law and Constitution but citizens should refuse to buy them. If every person voluntarily turned theirs in and refused to buy any, I am okay with it. It won’t stop the willing from anything however.
    • From the article:   "In some ways, the dispute over the 2000 presidential election will never end. Witness Vice President Biden's comments Wednesday about predecessor Al Gore. "This man was elected president of the United States of America," Biden said at a fundraiser that Gore also attended. "No, no, no. He was elected president of the United States of America." WOW!!  And no one was indicted for questioning the results an this election.  Amazing how times have changed.   This is the hidden content, please Sign In or Sign Up @Big girl  @UT alum  @CardinalBacker  @Boyz N Da Hood         What say you?!
    • What you are failing to realize is this….. you act as if the only reason this person committed this heinous crime is because of bump stocks. My realization is that he would have done it anyway. Bump stocks did not create this crime, he did. You need to learn where that line really is.
    • If you want bump stocks banned, you are going to need Congress.
    • This is my point, made initially.   We, as gun owners, should demand accountability from those who manufacture and sell these things.  But instead we argue "but it's our RIGHT to own them," thereby insuring that another mass killing happens in the future.  At which point in time we'll wring our hands, offer thoughts and prayers, say how it's not a gun that kills, but rather a hard heart that kills.     Gun manufacturers and sellers don't mind threats from people who were never going to buy from them anyways.  If actual gun owners were to threaten a boycott of businesses that produce/sell bump stocks, they'd disappear from the market.  But instead we take the losing side of an argument on philosophical grounds.   We don't need the feds with more regulations or congress to pass new legislation... we, as consumers control the market.  What's available, etc.   WE, as the actual customers of weapons should be using our voices to determine what is produced/sold by the gun industry.
