The district lead (or at least part of it) in District 11-3A-II is on the line tonight as the Newton Eagles travel up to Houston County to take on the Crockett Bulldogs!  The Eagles, 2-4 on the season, kicked off their district slate in grand fashion as they defeated Deweyville, 58-0.  Likewise, the Bulldogs, 4-2 on the season, also opened district play with a victory, a 71-22 victory over Corrigan-Camden.  Newton took last year's contest, 55-19.

Join Bobby Fillyaw, Donnie Meek and John Meek for all of the action from Monte Jack Driskell Stadium beginning with the pregame show at 7:05 pm leading to a 7:30 pm kickoff by tuning your radio to KTXJ 102.7 FM or by clicking play on the player below.

Both teams was sloppy as far as penaltys,  and turnovers , call me what you want but Newton kept Crockett in this game, Newtons defense made some stops that had to be made, Crockett can score quick  and from anywhere on the field very dangerous offence. Prolly will be a rematch in playoffs,.......

Crockett is a very good team. Newton had chances to put the game away in the 2nd half but fell short. Crockett will go deep into playoffs for sure. Could very well be a rematch down the road GATA. I want to see the stats on this game. Great game .

Franklin has been hanging big numbers up for years and we all know what happens when they finally play worthy team, I want think different of them until other wise, I believe trinity played them a good game last night, .......hell we both have to make playoffs before any of this happens anyway

So much for the Newton haters. Predicting Newton 1-9. Newton will now walk through this district. Newton will finish district 6-4. Looking at the talent Newton has coming up, Newton is looking good for the future.
