Bulldog92 Posted November 1, 2014 Report Posted November 1, 2014 Jasper runs the clock down to :08 in its next possession and Huffman runs out the clock. Jasper is the 10-4a district champ with the 41-24 win. Congrats Bulldogs!!! Quote
3Falcons Posted November 1, 2014 Report Posted November 1, 2014 Congratz on the District title Jasper Quote
Bulldog92 Posted November 1, 2014 Report Posted November 1, 2014 You guys will be fine once you get your QB back. Keep your head up! Quote
dayton Posted November 1, 2014 Report Posted November 1, 2014 What was the injury? Hopefully nothing serious. Quote
Bulldog92 Posted November 1, 2014 Report Posted November 1, 2014 I have no idea. It wasn't noteworthy enough to stop the game whenever it happened. From the way it sounded from the Jasper broadcast, there was suddenly a change and there was no mention of a possible injury until late in the game. Quote
Hupernikomen Posted November 1, 2014 Report Posted November 1, 2014 Huffman looked deadly with harrel at the helm. Jasper's speed was evident on both sides of the ball. Lots of talent on both teams. Big win for the dogs. Worst officials i have seen in a long time. Bulldog92 1 Quote
Bulldog92 Posted November 1, 2014 Report Posted November 1, 2014 Spikes and Williams combined had to be close to 400 on the ground with with almost all of it coming in the second half. Huffman had no answer and the score doesn't indicate how dominant Jasper was. j_dog 1 Quote
j_dog Posted November 1, 2014 Report Posted November 1, 2014 Huffman, I hope the QB recovers in time for the playoffs. You guys ran into a buzz saw. Congrats Dogs! From listening, it sounded like you had some adversity to overcome also. Didn't sound like you started with the best of field position sometimes, yet had two 98 yard TD drives. Okay, one of those drives was a one play "drive", but it still counted for 98 yards rushing. As they say, speed kills. And Jasper has a bit of it this year. Hupernikomen 1 Quote
OleMoe Posted November 1, 2014 Report Posted November 1, 2014 Good job Dogs...coming togeather at the right time. Quote
Bulldog92 Posted November 1, 2014 Report Posted November 1, 2014 I don't think anybody saw that second half coming. Debney's pick-six changed the game, but Williams and Spikes were incredible. Quote
3Falcons Posted November 1, 2014 Report Posted November 1, 2014 No disrespect at all to Jasper they played a heck of a game, but this game looks much different if we don't loose our starting QB. The backup is not only a sophomore with minimal snaps, he is also our 2 or 3 leading receiver. The running attack of Jasper in the 2nd was impressive, again congratz on the District title. Quote
3Falcons Posted November 1, 2014 Report Posted November 1, 2014 Oh and I will second the Mr. Magoo crew we had in stripes tonight. They looks lost most of the night, many many conferences and head scratchers. Quote
Guest Posted November 1, 2014 Report Posted November 1, 2014 If "if's " and's and but's were candy and nuts it would be Christmas everyday. Make plays not excuses Quote
AggiesAreWe Posted November 1, 2014 Report Posted November 1, 2014 Jasper clinches district title and will face Kilgore in 1st round of playoffs. Henderson beat Chapel Hill and clinches district title in 9-4A DI. They will face Silsbee in Bi-District round. Quote

They looks lost most of the night, many many conferences and head scratchers. Sounds like the crew WS had in Joaquin a few weeks ago. Only they were almost outright criminal. 16pen.265yds., 3 ejections (two players and HC/AD). Five TD called back...... Quote
FarmersFight Posted November 1, 2014 Report Posted November 1, 2014 Congrats Jasper Bulldogs!!! Another game in Southeast Texas that I wish we could have made! Coach Barbay always seems to get them boys rolling at the right time of the year! Quote
Guest Posted November 1, 2014 Report Posted November 1, 2014 Looks like the more things change, the more they stay the same. Cant win the district. Quote
Murph Posted November 1, 2014 Report Posted November 1, 2014 3falcons so let me get this right we hang 50 on almost every team but when we get ahead we dont play our back up qb to get h some snaps so when district is on the line and our qb goes down he can step in and atleast give us s fighting chance hmmm brings back memories of townley when we played navasota typical mac ... Idiot Quote

Idiot Where you at the game last night? The back-up QB did give Huffman a chance. But as previously stated, it hurt Huffman because it took away one of their main receivers also. Congrats to Jasper. They seem to be playing very good football at the right time. 3Falcons 1 Quote
Murph Posted November 1, 2014 Report Posted November 1, 2014 Not taking nothing away from jasper huffmans not stoping the jasper running game had nothing to do with losing the qb and yes lorfing did fine timing just seemed to be off which might have made the difference if he had received more snaps while up by 40 or 50 in previous games And yes i was there Quote
3Falcons Posted November 2, 2014 Report Posted November 2, 2014 Well Murph, there are always a few different views on this. While I see your point (and agree with) that the backup could have used a few more snaps with actual passing and not just handing the ball off to run the clock out. I went back and looked at the previous games and the passes once things were in hand almost always went to secondary receivers. I can see why you would want to leave the starters in and work on getting the timing down between the other receivers and the starting QB for when that is needed. I guess it is all in how you rank what is important. Getting the backup QB reps or getting the secondary receivers some live receptions with the starting QB. I think that since Jasper pressed #1 off the line with additional cover over the top it was the secondary receivers that put us in the lead to begin with, with out the extra reps for starters at game speed it might not even be an issue once the starter went down. Local accomplishments are hard to achieve, I guess. Oh, well. It could be worse. They could be like WO-S. stangx2 1 Quote

Guest Posted November 2, 2014 Report Posted November 2, 2014 You folks will have to try harder if you think I lose any sleep over Huffman. As stated previously, the last Huffman game I saw was in 1988. They can go 0-10 or 10-0 and I will not lose sleep. You will be hard pressed to get me stirred up over any high school team's performance. If you want to incite me you will need to post some more of your foolishness about WOS, HD, Liberty or someone else. That is about the only thing that bothers me on a message board. Quote
