IT'S IN THE BONE Posted September 14, 2014 Report Posted September 14, 2014 With the majority of our injured back next week, I think CC is gonna have a fight on their hands. Quote

Guest Posted September 14, 2014 Report Posted September 14, 2014 I have. When you get some time let us know what you thought.. I know they have a real speedy back but that's all I know Quote
kcat-fan Posted September 14, 2014 Report Posted September 14, 2014 CC is 3-0 and averaged about 60 pts a game, but Kountze will be the best test they've faced thus far. I just haven't seen Kountze put up #s yet nor win a game. Quote

whsalum Posted September 15, 2014 Report Posted September 15, 2014 Kountze is giving up nearly 44 pts a game and playing a club averaging over 60. That's not a good combination. The Kountze QB will make his share of plays but it will be asking a lot of him to keep up with a club that is no stranger to playing winning football. CC=50 Kountze=36 SteelerCzy 1 Quote
ECFAN#1 Posted September 15, 2014 Report Posted September 15, 2014 save me a seat Friday I torn between which game to go see. Kountze and CC Buna and HF Maybe Half and Half. LOL Quote
justsaying Posted September 15, 2014 Report Posted September 15, 2014 If kountze could have the game moved to within 6 miles of EC then I would be torn. I am heading to the Buna HF game. It's like a home game for EC. Can't beat the gas cost. Quote

pinelandflash Posted September 15, 2014 Report Posted September 15, 2014 This will be an interesting contrast in styles. Corrigan is ground and pound while Kountze spreads you out and uses their speed. Should be interesting and high scoring. Corrigan Camden 49 Kountze 47 Quote
IT'S IN THE BONE Posted September 15, 2014 Report Posted September 15, 2014 Ok...watched CC and Trinity film...watched HJ and Kountze again! LOL. Here is my take... CC had issues with defending the pass and does not contain speed well on the outside. On offense they run at you but they have several tendencies that tip their hand and they are nowhere as big and physical as HJ. But they do pound it at a team with success. That being said; after also looking at earlier film with CC...well it made me question the strength of schedule, defenses were soft and Offenses suspect. Kountze on the other hand has played tough pre-district schedule that has tested the intestinal fortitude of the Lions...the Lion defense is tougher than Trinity and Kountze passing game may be more than CC can handle. As far as running game...well outside is solid...between the tackles is inconsistent. Kountze should be near 100% God willing and the creek don't rise! All that being said: I think Kountze passes and breaks containment more than CC has success running and when our offense stalls Kountze has one of the regions best punters who can flip the field for the defense with great consistency. I did not see that same complement supporting the CC defense. IMO Kountze gets the W and takes another step towards being ready for Kirbyville! Quote
Guest Posted September 15, 2014 Report Posted September 15, 2014 Kountze makes a statement this week... This is the first game of the year that I am confident we will win. Quote
longball24 Posted September 15, 2014 Report Posted September 15, 2014 Corrigan Knows how to win football games. Team is smart and seasoned. Kountze will see more speed than they can imagine. They will also see what the weight room is used for. Corrigan 60 Kountze 35 Quote
OLDGREGG Posted September 15, 2014 Report Posted September 15, 2014 Should be a good game. I'll take the Lions by 7 if they don't get worn down towards the end of the game. Go Kountze! Quote
Guest Farmer Fran Posted September 15, 2014 Report Posted September 15, 2014 CC wins by at least 2 td's Quote

Guest Posted September 15, 2014 Report Posted September 15, 2014 And I know they are just scrimmages but after Woodville scrimmaged them someone told me he wasn't impressed with their defense.. But you can't really tell anything from the first scrimmage Quote
eagleswoodville#1 Posted September 15, 2014 Report Posted September 15, 2014 I watched them in person when they scrimmaged Woodville. They are beatable. Their front seven is one of the better 3A front sevens in the area. They aren't huge, but they're aggressive and smart. Their tailback is probably the best true running back Kountze will see all year. Their offensive line has perfected the term "block as a unit". They are strong, but a little undersized. The key to a win for Kountze is to exploit their questionable secondary. CC has all the speed in the world to beat Kountze. But the technique and football IQ of the secondary is lacking. Woodville threw and ran the ball well against CC. And our defense, other than a couple big plays, was fairly successful too. Stack the box on defense and get your passing game going and it will be a good game. But if CC gets rolling on offense, look out. You don't want to get into a shoot out with this team. Quote
