Lighthouse Cove

Guys...I want to try some fishing in lighthouse cove and I have heard that there are some spots that you can run up on some reefs and screw up a boat.  Any tips on where to avoid and what to look for??

Just slow down and use your depth finder.  As you come out of the channel on the cove side, you will time time to stop the boat if you arent going too fast.  it goes from 40  to 15 to 2 ft i pretty quick, but not so fast that you can't see it coming.

We saw a guy destroy his trolling motor out there last year.  You better
move around REAL slow!

Go out there on a real low tide. Then you will have a healthy respect for the hazards and also see where they are.

I found a photo on bing maps of lighthouse cove on a low tide....there's some pretty serious obstructions out there.  Thanks for the input.  Do you think the best fishing is off and around those reefs or all around in the cove?

My suggestion.  Anchor off the northern most reef and fish the water toward the channel.  Unless it's real early or late, the fish will hang in 10 ft of water.
