If it's not their team having success, then they're going to be negative. They always find a reason to be negative and that's just society today. But I'll say this, if your coach chose to opt up to Division 1 for WHATEVER reason, then you should back him 100%. If other people don't agree, so be it. It's what Bridge City decided to do and in the long scheme of things, they were successful doing it. BC is now the 2025 Division 1 District Champions and Bi-District Champions. So it's working for them. If you're on here and you not from Navasota or maybe Kilgore, then beat it or support a SETX team that is successful. There are plenty of schools loaded with potential in this area that can't figure it out. Go back to the miserable thread about your team not making the playoffs or losing the first round and figure out a solution to excel! Bridge City did! Congrats Cardinals!

I think that we have some good teams in SETX right now and we may be following them for a while! BC playing well. Newton and WOS going well. PAM and PNG expected to play for a while. Hardin has been a blast to watch this year. They are about to be playing tougher defenses however I expect them to continue to roll! BC will be in for a matchup but have every reason to win this game. Hopefully the linebacker is able to play. Any idea what's going on with him? My cousin is a doctor and can take a look at it! LOL

Bridge City shocked the state last week by winning against Chapel Hill. What are the expectations for BC here?

West Hardin and Colmesneil

UIL and All-State Committees are separate entities and neither have anything to do with the other. So the UIL does not or cannot make a rule about an "All-State" player playing down. Which "All-State" team would we use for judgement on this? The AP All-State, Dave Campbells All-State, 247 All-State, or the Wink Local Newspaper All-State team? All-State isn't a state-level honor. It's not given by the UIL. Now, ethically, this would be frowned upon and I highly doubt that any coach in this state would take a 5A All-State Running back and let him carry the ball 20 times for a 2A-D2 JV team. But, coaches will surprise you sometimes. That wouldn't be very fun at all. That's like letting Derrick Henry carry the ball for Aledo. It just removes any real competition and no real fun in that match.

This is what I heard also. He is going to Navasota to finish this season on the JV and play Varsity next year.

Do they stay in-house for this hire or go after fresh blood?

Are we able to watch the UIL meeting tomorrow? I am curious how this is going to play out.

The Oilers are on fire right now. Hard to beat a team that has things going in the right direction. Strength of schedule is definitely lop-sided here.

It is not the all-time record that wins the game however, the WH parents have been a part of beatdowns given to them from HD. If I am correct, WH has beaten HD only 11 times in history. Two of those were in the past 4 years. Anyway ... it's that fact that HD is WH's daddy and all of the Oiler crowd knows it. And THAT is what changes the mindset here. I never said that the great team from 1979 was going to play this Friday.

Doesn't HD lead the all-time matchup by a considerable margin? WH probably waits for this game and usually fails but HD overlooks because WH doesn't have much fight to give the Bobcats. However, I think this year, the tables are turned. WH has looked better than HD but like I said above ... don't count the Bobcats out yet. I think they surprise the Oilers this week and this ballgame will be a good one to watch!

West Hardin is only 7 point favorites in the polls that matter. That makes much more sense. This is like a Cotton Bowl or Iron Bowl. All records are out the window ... HD vs WH is the BIGGEST game of the year!

Hull-Daisetta is about to surprise some folks. Don't count them out just yet.

KIPP schools are synonymous for cancelling and they will do it last minute ESPECIALLY if it has to do with a road game. I agree .... leave them off of the schedule! It's not worth the headache. However, what is the story with Colmesneil? Why did they cancel?
