After watching that new 30 for 30 about the 1988 Dallas Carter team, people started to debate not only in the State of Texas but Nation wide/ESPN on who would win a game out of two of the best teams to ever play Highschool football in the State of Texas heres an article [Hidden Content] just to add my two cents , A while back on this board I posted about this, and I'm sticking with my guns. I'll take that 1985 Houston Yates team,.p I watch them play personally I couldn't believe how fast that Defense was as well as how good the running back Bailey was.. That Yates Team imo doesn't get enough Credit like that 1988 Carter team

No doubt about it, SETX has some Great/consistent programs..if you ever go out of SETX and even the State, everyone knows of the SETX/Golden Triangle Let's not forget, Beaumont "Football Capital", Texas

So Kelly is the best program in SETX?

Just wanted to hear some opinions , that's all i think at the end of the day we all know W.O.S is head and shoulders above the rest

Yea Jasper put out some really good teams back in the day...Kinda reminded me of Yale, small but none of the big schools wanted to play them , cus they'd beat you up

Very true indeed, but I think that goes to BISD not having/retaining good coaches..Athletes have never been short in Beaumont but good coaching has. Another thing with communities with one High school is the kids learn the offense/defense chemistry at an early age..

Yea that 07 season was a disappointment,..i will say Central had no OC (Ozen took Rison and Bell went to Legacy ) so it was a coach by commity for the offense ..i believe when Stowers had a full coaching staff they were the best in the area Suggs was definitely a good coach but I imo Stowers surrounded himself with better coaches ..Suggs had the defense but the offense he had lacked with so much talent unlike Stowers who hired really good OCs and wasn't afraid to go out of the area and get them

Only reason I have it as W.O.S #1 is becaues head to head I think they're 11-1 vs Newton if I'm not mistaken

No I was talking about The overall program, from their first season ever til now...I believe a Nelson will do good on 88 Jaguar Dr tho.. i just think Central hasn't had the best coaches to bring the best out of the kids over the years...Stowers IMO was the best coach to come through Central and they ran him out smh.p, but that's another story for another time lol

If Central just had consistent good coaching , we'd be the best lol..Other than maybe Memorial and Ozen every so often, We have the best/most athletes , just no good coaches ., but if 'if' was a fifth we'd all be drunk

So the real question here is who's 2-5 and how do you rank them lol

Now I know many people will automatically say W.O.S or maybe even Newton which is rightfully so But me and a friend were talking today and Pound for Pound Westbrook may be a close 2nd. If you look at their line of work as well as playing In 6A and being good year in and year out they have a legitimate argument . Also correct me if I'm wrong but they don't have a losing record to any team in Setx..(tied with WOS) plus they have a state championship which a lot of good teams can't say, they put players in college and sometimes the NFL. I know some might not agree but the numbers don't lie (I'm a French Grad/ Jag fan) I won't say they're #1 only because of that late 90s- early 2000's Idk if yall have already had this discussion but I would like to hear you guys arguments as to why or why not and also if you have some teams that should be mention My top 3 1.W.O.S 2.WB 3.Newton

Watched A few spring games today..out of everyone Auburn probably looked the best (FSU,Clem,UNC,A&M, Florida) ..That transfer QB will help them out a lot next year.,They should be in contention with Bama and LSU

I will also be on attendance,, anyone know how much it is to get in?

Love Thoes coaches with a physical mentality, who still make practices hard and physical...Trust me your team will be better from it, specially in Texas case with the miss tackles...

I know I'm off subject and late but what happen to Klein Forest??? Weren't they undefeated and ranked in the nation ?? Who beat them??

Texas has a really good chance to keep most of the best players in state...Herman has lot of ppl working in his corner throughout the State need a successful season on the 40 acres to land this dream class Herman is talking about

True, SEC was my first thought but no way they're gonna give ANY impression there following the Aggies lol... I really think they should just go Independent...Texas can hold their own weight just as much if not more then ND

I would think Texas would go Big 10 before it goes PAC 12...I mean don't get me wrong Texas has the money but Travel expenses would be outrageous and crazy to take on... i would personally think Big 10

I think ppl are taking this out of context, I feel if anything this is a good thing, the reason Texas is in this place now is because Mack got lax and Texas got soft and stopped working...If a 5* worked like a 2* or no star with a chip on it she shoulder , I guarantee you he would be better for it i for one one like the quote
