  1. It was the best i've seen this year. Man what a shot!!!
  2. Someone sent me this in an email and I thought I would share it with you guys. So True!! Differences between football in the North and in the South Women's Accessories: North - ChapStick in back pocket and a $20 bill in the front pocket South - Louis Vuitton duffel with two lipsticks, waterproof mascara, and a flask of bourbon. Money is not necessary, that's what dates are for. Stadium Size: North - College football stadiums hold 20,000 people South - High school football stadiums hold 20,000 people Getting Tickets: North - 5 days before the game you walk into the ticket office on campus and can still purchase tickets South - 5 months before the game you walk into the ticket office on campus and can still put you name on the waiting list for tickets (which have been sold out for months) Friday Classes after a Thursday Night Game: North - Students and teachers not sure they're going to the game because they have classes on Friday South - Teachers cancel Friday classes because there is a game the night before Parking: North - An hour before game time, the university opens the campus for game parking South - RVs sporting their school flags begin arriving on Wednesday for the weekend festivities. The really faithful arrive on Tuesday. Game Day: North - A few students party in the dorm and watch ESPN on TV. South - Every student wakes up, has a beer for breakfast, and rushes over to where ESPN is broadcasting "Game Day Live" to get on camera and wave to the people up North who wonder why "Game day Live" is never broadcast from their campus. Tailgating: North - Raw meat on a grill, beer with lime in it, listening to local radio station with truck tailgate down South - 30-foot custom pig-shaped smoker fires up at dawn. Cooking is accompanied by live performance by "Dave Matthews Band" Getting to the Stadium: North - You ask "Where's the stadium?" When you find it, you walk right in. South - When you're near it, you'll hear it. On game day it becomes the states third largest city. Concessions: North - Drinks served in a paper cup, filled to the brim with soda. South - Drinks served in a plastic cup, with the home team's mascot on it, filled 3/4 full with coke, to ensure enough room for the right mix of whiskey Commentary (Male): North - "Nice play." South - "#!@*$ you slow #*!@# - tackle him and break his legs." Commentary (Female): North - "My, this certainly is a violent sport." South - "#!@*$ you slow #*!@# - tackle him and break his legs." After the Game: North - The stadium is empty way before the game ends. South - Another rack of ribs goes on the smoker, and planning begins for next week's game.
  3. I saw Jeff Granger outperform one of those Clement boys in the TCA All Star Game!
  4. I was at the game too and it was Galena Park North Shore. The score was 61 - 58. Madison won. However, they did play Katy in the Dome that year too, but I'm not sure what that score was.
  5. I think WOS will be ready for OF this year. This past year I think they were looking past OF and OF was able to play with them for 2 1/2 quarters. After OF scored to cut it to 14-6 early in the 3rd, WOS took over.
  6. I saw Bellville and Marlin in 2002 (I think) at Bryan go double OT. I believe it was the Regional Semi-Finals. Great Game. One of the best playoff games I've been too.
  7. The weak schedule is probably because BC is not going to be very good next year, so they have to get as many wins as they can before district starts.
  8. On the girls side I'm gonna be a homer and say Orangefield. We pack the gym for girls games probably more than any other girls program in this area.
  9. No doubt EC should make the playoffs. It should come down to them and Anahuac for the district championship.
  10. Jeff Granger (All American in Football and Baseball)
  11. Dayton will make some noise in this new district. It would not surprise me if they made the playoffs. I would not take them lightly!!
  12. That was wrong Biged!!! Just trying to give some recognition to some teams that don't normally get any!!!
  13. 1. Orangefield 2. Vidor 3. Kirbyville 4. Hamshire Fannett 5. Lumberton 6. Hardin Jefferson 7. East Chambers 8. Buna 9. Kountze 10. Hull-Daisetta
  14. I've fished Falcon lake many times. That was probably my Grandfathers favorite place in the world to be.
  15. I remember watching Sealy play many times in the dome during their 4-peat. They were always very disiplined. They have not been the same since Mills left.
  16. I rode by the field on my way home and WOS is up 2-0 in the 3rd.
  17. Orangefield's was built in the 50's. Not sure the exact year. This was the last year it will be used full time. The new gym should be complete in a few months.
