Totally!!! The long tradition at Newton wasn't started yesterday or last year, or the year before. Kirbyville is doing very well right now. Talk to us after ten years. And believe it or not, Newton has lost lots bigger games in the past than the game to Kirbyville this year. It was a big win for Kirbyville. Be proud of it.

This will be the cats toughest test to date. Defense will have to really step it up to help the team. K'ville by 14.

Newton should take this one with little trouble as long as the defense plays like it did last night. Newton by 3 tds.

I get a kick out of you Kirbyville folks riding the tradition of Newton like it's your own. I'm sure after next year K'Ville will be back in 3A and back to their rightful position...The cellar.

Kirbyville was going 3 rounds deep into the playoffs when they were 3A

And Newton was winning State Championships when they were 3A!

K'vill didn't get on me too bad last night as I was in my purple and white, so we CAN STAND a little red and black tonight. Assitant Supt. said he would have me a K'ville shirt next game, so maybe all us Newton fans should bring a little extra purple and white and pass it out? NAHHH! 22-AA is all one now no matter what color you wear!! Go Wildcats and Go Eagles.The Bucs better beware because a beating is before them!

The Bucs better get ready, cause Newton is going to strip their gears for them! Won't be as close as the game at the first of the year. The bucs may be playing better now, but so is Newton! Newton by a Burch, ... uh bunch I mean.

The history of Texas High School Football says anybody can be beaten. Kirbyville has never won a state championship in football. The team and fans are hungry and think this is their year, and rightly so. This does not mean they have a lock. There is no such thing. Pride in one's team, town, district, etc. is a good thing. Pride turns to arrogance once belittling anyone else begins. Everyone should be proud of their team and it's accomplishments, but it is still a long ways to the championship game. Having said all this, I think Kirbyville can win tonight, and possibly dominate.

Newton has it's usuall dose of team speed on offense, but also this year have an outstanding passing attack. EC did not see the entire package earlier in the year. Newton will put points on the board and EC can't hang with that. Newton 48 EC 7.

I've seen Curtis with tears in his eyes after a playoff loss talking about how badly he feels for the kids, especially the seniors. That's love of the game and the kids playing for him. He has been called a father figure for many of the kids that have come through Newton. More than one will tell you how much they love this man and how they want their kids to play for him. This is rare.

Kirbyville has a very fine football team. The Wildcat stadium is awsome with the video board and excellent seating. The only thing missing is three state championship monuments. The Kirbyville football team beat the Newton football team. Be proud. Build on this with positives.
