1. - PAM write up in Baytown Sun I was wondering why they came in with the sophomore right in the middle of the game.  Our best lineman, Tim Smith, also didn't catch a bit of action, thought he may have been injured. Hate to break it to you coach, but Pasadena Memorial already knew their seeding so they could afford to rest their players lol Lee could have won and put themselves in a different, more favorable matchup in the first round.  Probably not the smartest of moves to pull out your first string quarterback while you're up 14-0.  Why have him in there in the first place then?
2. Lee beat them before Kendrick Perkins rejoined the team lol LP only has two players on the entire team. RB Perkins and RB Webb that also plays some at DB. LP does not have the speed on defense to stop PAM unless PAM implodes as I think we all can agree they are wont to do at times. If PAM keeps their head about them and doesn't turn the ball over 3 or 4 times, then they will be able to move up and down the field on the Bulldogs in my opinion. Lee was able to run the ball up the middle at times on PAM last night, which is a rarity for Lee. A tem that is MUCH better than Lee at doing this will be able to have some success with it. I think the Bulldogs will be able to run the ball, much like they did when they had Quentin Castille back there. Perkins is just so big and tough to handle.  You need two or three guys there in the hole waiting on him or he will drag you for 4 or 5 yards. I think PAM will win, because LP didn't impress me very much.  Like I say, they really only have the two players, and PAM has 10-15 guys that are really athletic and can play ball.
3. LP will be able to run on PAM. PAM better be able to score 35+ points.
4. When and where is PAM and LaPorte? I remember watching helplessly as Quentin Castille ran all over PAM at Deer Park stadium about 3 years ago. I fear that Kendrick Perkins might have similar success.
5. Riiiight SFA Lee dominated the first half and should have been up 21-7 if not for the botched call. I'm not going to sit here and say that Lee should have won. PAM didn't look like they should be on the same field as Lee in the first half though. The true Lee showed up in the second half, turned the ball over 4 times in 7 minutes and PAM poured it on them at that point. You're probably right...it should have been worse when all was said and done. PAM should have put up 60 the way things were going in that second half.
6. MAybe... If Sedberry can get a grasp on who his players are that he needs to get the ball to... He got the ball to Richardson 6 times in the first half for 90 yards and two td's...then he didn't really get him the ball in the second half.... Richardson is the straw that stirs the drink for the Ganders if their drink is going to be stirred at all. They don't have anyone else that can do what he can do with the ball in his hands. They need to throw the ball his way at least 20 times a game... If they do that, then Lee has a chance, assuming they play turnover free ball, against most teams. They just have WAYYYY too many turnovers in every single game to really gauge what they could do if they could limit those. They have to have at least 50 turnovers on the year, which is amazing for 10 games.
7. Pasadena Memorial I am pretty sure. They are beatable. If Lee doesn't turn the ball over 7 times....
8. Tonight was Lee's season in a nutshell.   I have to laugh so as not to cry. PAM didn't look like they belonged on the same field with Lee in the first half.  PAM got a touchdown with about 15 seconds left in the half that I think really gave them some momentum going into half. The Golden Triangle officiating crew botched a couple of plays big time. One was where a PAM receiver had blown by a Lee db and got held very blatantly...no call. Another was when Lee got a chop block called on them and the referees moved the ball from the line of scrimmage at PAM's 47 to the Lee 37 lol.  Even the pa announcer said that Lee was penalized 16 yards on the play.  At least one of the officials should have been able to do the math. The biggest blunder came when Lee had the ball at the PAM 30 with a 2nd and 8.  Lee's qb ran down to the 13 and was pushed out of bounds.  The referee called dead ball personal fouls on both teams after the play....and....wait for it.....he moved the ball back to the 30 and gave Lee a 2nd and 8 again lol I'm not sure if I was more upset with the refs or with Coach Sedberry for not knowing the rules enough to refuse to accept that. Should have been first and ten Lee at about the PAM 10.  Lee didn't score on that drive, and it would have been at least 17-7, possibly 21-7 at the half if not for the bungled call by the refs. The refs did not factor in the outcome of the game at all, it's just funny to see the difference between a good officiating crew and a poor one on the high school level.  I don't think they were leaning to one side or the other, they just didn't have a clue as to how to officiate a game. Back to the game... Lee dominated the first half, then they came out and turned the ball over 4 times in the second half. One of those was taken back for a pick six, another interceptions was returned to the 8 yard line.  Another fumble was retruned to the Lee 15.  These turnovers all took place within about an 8 play span for the Lee offense. The PAM coaching staff finally got their head out in the second half.  In the first half they were running effectively, then they decided to try to pass the ball.  The pass ground their offense to a halt.  They were running quite well.  They started running again in the second half and took control of the game.   PAM has some good players.  They aren't very well coached, so they are kinda on their own out there I guess you could say.  Whatever they can get done on natural ability is about all you are going to get out of them.  They have some speed at receiver and a big qb with some agility and a strong arm.  They honestly shouldn't be as bad as they looked in the first half.  Lee made them look a lot better in the second half with all those turnovers. I will be rooting for the Titans in the playoffs whomever they play. Hopefully Titans fans will do the same for the Ganders.
9. WB 27 NS 13 West Brook had to be better than NS from what I saw of NS against Lee last week. NS didn't look anywhere near as good as they usually are.
10. cmon guys... No PAM-LEE results?
11. You heard it here first guys. Lee is going to beat PAM 20-19. Falcons are going to beat the Rangers 48-34. PAM will be watching from home this year after beating North Shore.
12. Three things: 1) Sterling has good athletes, so whoever said that about their offense not having athletes is out of his/her mind.  Sterling has speed to burn, and they should be ashamed that they have not put together at least a halfway decent team the last few years.  Last year's team used a miracle second half against Lee to edge into the playoffs. 2) North Shore is no where near the NS of old.  If Lee's coaches were not so darn inept, Lee actually had a chance to hang with NS last Friday as crazy as it may sound.  You had to be there to see how it all unfolded.  An interecption return for a td on a play that should have never been called, a fake punt for a td on a play that I could see coming from three miles away, a fumble return down inside the ten by a running back that should have never been carrying the ball at that point in time.... Middle second quarter, Lee had stopped NS's offense 4 straight times. Lee couldn't have dreamed of stopping NS even once last year, and Lee's defense was much better last year. 3)  Let's not get overzealous about PNG having their way with Lee or Sterling.  Beat Barbers Hill and LCM a little more convincingly, then we can talk about what you may or may not do to Lee and Sterling.  Granted, Lee is down, but PNG would not walk all over Lee.
13. Makes things a bit more interesting next week in Baytown
14. I left with 5 minutes to go in the first half as my anger was making a dull ache in the pit of my stomach turn into a stabbing knife piercing my kidney. There is no way that NS is 40+ points better than Lee. I didn't see the WB game, but I'm certain that WB is better than NS. NS is there for the taking this year. It was mind boggling to see Lee stop NS's offense 4 straight times to start the game, as horrible as Lee's defense is.
15. North Shore was going to win this game either way, but the Ganders just gift wrapped it for them. It should have been 7-0 North Shore at the half. A horrible pass by Lee's qb gave NS a gift6 interception return for a td. Lee stopped NS the first four times the Mustangs had the ball in the first half. On NS'sfirst punt, you could see the way they were lined up, with their three gunners on one side of the field, they had all of Lee's speed on the punt return over there inexplicably lining up across from these guys.  NS should have faked that first time, and it would have been an easy run for Denby around the corner where Lee had their slow footed middle linebacker as the contain.  NS had mercy on us that time, but of course the second punt for NS comes and Lee's coaches failed to see the flaw in their punt return scheme.  So, this time NS took the easy fake punt that Lee's coaches handed to them and Denby ran around right end for a 50 yard touchdown. Lee's best running back is running second string.  #21 is a pure running back.  #1, while he is serviceable, is more of a safety type.  He plays a lot at safety, but he plays at running back too, which limits him in both areas.  He should be strictly a safety and #21 should be the full time running back.  Lee is driving on a possession early in the game....moving the ball pretty well. The coaches decide to put in #19 and then...of course,...they put him in motion, everyone on NS's defense starts running towards where he is motioning to for his patented receiver sweep that thhey give him every time he comes in the game.  Me...I'm holding out hopebecause the whol eNS defense is over there waiting on him, and a Pop Warner coach would have the forethought to realize NS would be coached to know that he is going to get the ball on a receiver sweep when he goes in motion, so I just KNEW that the quarterback was going to keep it and do some misdirection off of it.  But, nope...5 NS defenders were over there waiting on him 7 yards deep in the backfield.  That made it 2nd and 17 and stopped all hopes for that drive. Next time around they let #35 go for the receiver sweep.  well, it's not #19, so what do you know, the NS defense doesn't believe the fake...they fake it to #35 and give it instead to the running back. IOt goes no where of course, because the NS defenders have been taught already that if it's not #19 it's not going to be the receiver sweep. The tendencies are just TOO, TOO easy to figure out with Lee. It's like thir playbook is the original Tecmo Bowl playbook.  Except that Tecmo Bowl playbook had four plays, which is twice as many as Lee has. I'm not saying that Lee had a prayer of winning this game, but the coaches just aren't contributing right now. The third NS score was after #1 came in at running back and fumbled the first play after Lee had recovered a NS fumble on the Mustangs' side of the field.  I just knew they were going to try and get a quick strike to #14, who is leaps and bounds better than any other offensive player Lee has...but no, they run the ball with #1, who fumbles and NS takes it back about 60 yards to the Lee 10, setting up an easy td. The 4th NS td was the first legitimate drive they had in the first half and that was with about 5 minutes to go in the half.  At that point Lee had mailed it in.  Can't say I blame them.  they are a decent group of players that have no guidance.
16. Not to be too picky, but when a team is going in to score, it's not called their own end of the field.  That's the opponent's end of the field. Channelview has a super receiver.  He just didn't get the ball enough against Lee. He is one of the best in the area for sure.
17. Nice player, probably runs about a 4.6 though, which is still nothing to sneeze at.
18. Sad for whom? lol It's happy for me. The sad part is that Lee actually has enough players on the team to be able to play much better. The coaching staff just doesn't know where to put them. We have a district winning 400 relay team playing the 4 defensive back positions, yet the other team only passes 8-10 times a game. We have a bunch of 5.2 40 guys playing receiver, while the 4.4 40 guys rot away at defensive back making maybe 2 or 3 plays a game back there. It is so frustrating to KNOW that Jaevon Richardson needs to be at receiver, yet he wastes away at cornerback against a team that only threw to his man once all game. Then they FINALLY throw him the ball a few times on offense in the 4th quarter and he of course catches the first one for what would have been 35 yards had the qb not throw it out of bounds, then catches a quick slant a few plays later and takes it 50 yards down inside the Falcon 5 yard line.  That would be the norm if they actually left him on offense full time and threw him the ball 4 or 5 times a quarter like an intelligent coach would do. It's games like these that remind you this is high school football. If a coach has any sort of imagination and ability, he wouldn't be on this level.  He'd be over at UH or Texas or LSU. Sorry to all the coaches, but it is what it is. And seeing simple decisions not being made reminds you of this fact in a frustrating way.
19. North Shore. I don't feel too good going into this one lol
20. Talk about a battle of ineptitude. Man this was a tough game to watch. CV missed an xp and two field goals. Lee didn't get anything going all night until the coach finally came to his senses and threw it to Richardson who turned a quick slant into about a 55 yard gain down to the 5 with 4 minutes in the game.  Lee punched it in a few plays later. CV missed a field goal with less than a minute to go from about 27 yards.
21. The Lee quarterback can't really pass the ball that well. He's not very fast either. He has a nice arm, but he can only throw it to a pre-determined spot on the field that they have worked on in practice all week. He can't actually make any reads or pick another receiver or anything along those lines. I think coach is slow on reversing his decisions sometimes. He'd be better off to just go with the freshman and let him make his mistakes and learn from them, because the freshman is immensely more naturally gifted.
22. This reminds me of Olin's first year. Lee does have some talent this year(3 seniors going D1), just not enough of it.
23. 45-0 now I will have to eat my words about the shut out. Man, Lee must have really just not showed up or WBV has greatly improved since WF put 70 on them.
24. Let's you know how bad Sterling is. Lee just doesn't have a quarterback to run the offense they are trying to run. #17 is not a running threat at ALL. So, basically the offense boils down to handing off up the middle to #1 or #21 and then throwing an occasional hail mary to #14. I personally think they should just go with the freshman qb. At least he provides a running threat.
