1. LOL There is your strawman again. No one said Lee deserved to win.  Lee should have lost that game, just like they did. They were in it deep into the 4th quarter though. Why would you take all of the games the teams in 22-5A played? That doesn't make any sense. It would be a more fair comparison to take district games so we can see how they do against common opponents. Either way, the 37 points they gave up to Lee was the most they gave up all year.
2. You specifically stated that Memorial was in control of the game, trying to give your argument a little more firepower.  I'm sure everyone here assumed you were at the game. Aside from your observations of Richardson, which I doubt you were at the North Shore game either for that matter. You were giving an observation of a game(Memorial) that you were not attending. You also said that Memorial had the worst defense in a bad district, when in fact they had the 4th best defense in a bad district. Pearland gave up 9 points a game in district, DP gave up 10, LaPorte gave up 14 and Memorial gave up 16. Again, you are just pulling stuff out of thin air trying to strengthen your argument.
3. So, you're telling me you weren't at the game, yet you are trying to speak about what happened at the game. This is rich.
4. My hind leg the game was out of hand when Richardson scored his td's. He dominated the game. His punt return in the 4th quarter brought Lee to within two scores. Lee got the ball back and inexplicably did not have him in the game, down two scores with about 8 minutes to go. Lee was in the game deep into the 4th quarter, so those were not meaningless touchdowns. He is too good for high school cornerbacks. The reason he didn't do much against North Shore is because the NS defense was simply too fast for the Lee offense to have time to get him the ball. Go back and look at the film of Lee and Clear Creek when Clear Creek put two guys on Jaevon at the line of scrimmage.  I've never in my life have seen a defense put double coverage on a receiver like that right at the line of scrimmage.  Looked like a punt return, with the outside gunners being doubled up. So, don't try to diminish what this kid is all about. Were you even at the game?  Shouldn't you have been watching the GCM game that night?
5. LaPorte has had an easy road to the third round the past two years. Lee handled them both years. And we all know Lee hasn't been a rolling ball of butcher knives the past two years.
6. oh yeah that was Odell. The only ones I can for sure identify are Odell, Kalief Muhammed, Darrell Bush, Mike Green, Slint Stoerner, Chad Irwin, David Boston....and that may be it.
7. Shawn Diamond... Remember him well. I watched him in 8th grade at Baytown Jr.  He would routinely go for 8 carries 255 yards and 6 touchdowns.  He was a machine. He was pretty dominant as a freshman too like you said. We had a load of talent on that freshman team.  Michael Stewart transferred to CE King, but the rest of them stayed around. I remember playing North Shore though that freshman year.  Their Freshman pounded us like 63-7.  Ced Cormier and Lavar Johnson had a field day.  Three years later as seniors, Lee had them beat 7-3 until a last second hail mary pass gave the Mustangs a 10-7 win.  Olin regularly had 100+ kids out for freshman ball.  Now they are lucky to have 50. Clint Stoerner's sophomore year, they didn't put any sophomores on varsity.  they left them all on the sophomore team to let them play together.  Must have been 60 kids on that sophomore team.  Now we don't even have a sophomore team, hardly a JV team for that matter. I can only hope that the top level athletes continue playing football. Lee has enough athletes to get by in 4A, just not enough for the constant pounding of 5A.

9. Football Montage I promise the footgae looked better than this when it was being captured. Maybe it just needs time to fully process onto youtube. Brings back some good and bad memories for me personally. Humble really spoiled one of Lee's better chances to get deep into the playoffs with stupid David Boston.
10. you could be right dude Barbers Hill and Lee are on opposite ends of the spectrum. Barbers Hill has little in the raw athletes department, but they have a good system in place.  They get the kids involved early.  They are well coached.  They are in the same system from optimist on up.  They are pretty well formed into a nice cohesive unit that is playing up the best of their ability by high school. Lee is just all over the place.  Lee usually has 4-5 D1 athletes on the squad at any one time.  They have a ton of guys that play freshman ball and look like all world contributors, then they move, they drop out, they go to jail, they quit football to sell drugs....whatever the case may be. Lee's team looks like a bunch of guys that just showed up and learned they were going to be teammates the day before each game.  Mistakes out the wazoo, no cohesion, no unity...just a bunch of athletes trying to make it by. Take last year's team for instance. When that group of seniors were freshman, they beat the tar out of everyone. I watched at least 7 or 8 games their freshm,an year and they went undefeated in the ones I saw.  they may have lost a game or two that I wasn't able to make, but not by much.  the games I saw they beat the stuffings out of Sterling and Memorial and Channelview. Problem is....their best players were Xavier Ruben, Jarret Havins, Shack Calderon, Rashawn Williams, Nathan Dominique, Curtis Louis, Trey Murray and Trent Warren. Of those, only Ruben, Murray and Warren played for Lee last year. Havins was on and off the team, never did much, Calderon who knows what happened, Rashawn Williams went to Sterling, Louis went to GCM I guess as he is on their basketball team, Domonique who knows. So of the top 8 players, only 3 of them made it to their senior year.  All three of those were solid players for Lee. If you go back even farther, I can remember the class that was supposed to be a state ranked team a few years earlier.  Josh Jones, Jarvis Moore, Desarian Cartwright, Jarret Driver, Michael Mahan, etc. Driver was convicted of murder, Cartwright lef tthe team, Mahan was on and off the team. the year before that, Grady Richardson made the varsity as a freshman, never heard from him again. Jarret's brother Jermaine was a varsity linebacker as a freshman, his senior year he was off the team.\ I remember back in the mid 90's... what you saw on the freshman team, that was what you were going to see 4 years later on the varsity.  Not the case any more at least for Lee.
11. Is hay bail rides a UIL event? jk Yes, Barbers Hill will beat Lee in most events that involve some structured atmosphere, coaching, years of training, etc. Swimming, volleyball, basketball, tennis, softball The sports that lend more towards raw athleticism could see Lee with the upperhand Track and football I'm ok with this as football and track are my favorite two sports to watch. I wish Lee was better in basketball, but most of their talent usually moves to Sterling, which doesn't make sense, because Sterling is horrible too. I think Baytown just doesn't create basketball players for some reason.
12. Hum should enjoy this one as it shows the pivotal play that helped his Wildcats beat my Ganders in the first round of the 95 playoffs. It's uploading onto youtube as we speak...
13. This is football right, not watermelon seed spitting or calf roping. BH handling Lee in rodeo events or plowing a field I can maybe get with.
14. Central has won 3 of the last 4. The last two were 21-9 and 20-14. So it's not as if Lee was getting blown out of the water. Lee will fit in nicely in 4A in my opinion. Not a powerhouse, but able to compete at least.
15. Baytown Lee is 7-9 all time against Central.  That includes losing the 5 of the first 6. So 6-4 in the last 10  ;)
16. Basketball is 5 on 5....so it's not really a sport where 2a vs 5a is going to make as big of a difference.  If you got 2 guys that can play out of 200 boys in school, then what's it matter if the other team has 1,000 boys from which to choose.? Whole different animal from football, where you need at least 25+ guys to field a team.
17. I saw NS play LEe this year.  Keep in mind that Lee is really, really down. Lee was able to shut down the NS offense 5 out of the 6 drives that the Mustangs had in the first half. NS capitalized on a lot of mistakes and scored points on defense and special team. You could tell that the line just couldn't open any holes. It's strange because they have two guys in Hopkins and Flowers that are probably both going to UT that play on the offensive line. They have two good running backs in Woods and Cornett. They just didn't open any holes for them to run. The quarterback was very erratic.  They never pass the ball though.  They usually just smash mouth it on people. They couldn't do that this year. Most of their points this year came against very weak teams that made a lot of mistakes and put the Mustangs in easy scoring opportunities. They didn't look like they would be able to drive the ball very much against even average defenses.
18. NS doesn't have the goods this year.  Have some nice athletes, but nothing like they have had in the past.  They don't have an offense.
19. Memorial imploding out there. Not looking good.
20. Just when you think the Lee coaching staff can't get any more confused....tonight happens. Let me set the scene for you. Jaevon Richardson, sophomore wide receiver for Lee....Best receiver in the Houston area, bar none and he's only a sophomore. He will be a top 5 player in the state as a senior. I've been singing his praises all year. The Lee coaches have played him too much on defense, eating into his effectiveness on offense. So, having said that...Lee is fighting to get back in the game in the early part of the fourth quarter.  We are down 37-15. Memorial punts it and Richardson takes it 81 yards for a touchdown. Keep in mind that he scored the first 2 td's too.  One on a fake punt where he took a pass 50 yards for a td and then about an 11 yard fade route on the other. So we get the two point conversion. It's 37-23 now. Lee is able to stop Memorial on 3 plays and we get the ball back with about 9 minutes to go in the game on our own 15. Wait for it.................wait for it................. Richardson is NOT IN THE GAME. The most important drive of the entire season.  If there is one drive this whole year that anyone in the stadium could have told you that Richardson HAS TO BE IN THE GAME...this is the drive. and he's sitting on the sidelines. Lee goes three and out. Richardson goes on to catch a 15 yard td and a 64 yard td later on in the 4th quarter. This will go down as the most complete clueless boneheaded decision that I have ever seen.  Gave any chance we had away with that call.
21. That's a HUGE if.  Lee would commit  2 turnovers even if Memorial got lost and didn't show up for the game.  That's how turnover prone the Ganders are.
22. I almost am starting to wonder if the LEe coaches wanted to play Memorial.  If they knew that the qb was out. Because things were sure flying along smoothly in the Port Arthur Memorial game until they stuck that second string qb in there in the second half.
23. I'm hoping for the best here. If LEe can limit the turnovers, of which they average 4 per game, then they may be able to hang. There is a reason they turn it over that many times though, and it's because they just aren't a very fundamentally sound team.  It is pretty far fetched to think they will all the sudden learn how not to turn it over. If Richardson can get unteacked, I think Lee can put up some points on them. I'm just not sure how well we can stop them. If wos87 still wants updates, you can give me your cell phone # and i will text them to you. Otherwise I can't get this site to load on my crappy, old phone. Wish us luck.
24. GCM fans are kinda new at this, so I'll break it down for you. You will not win this game in the Golden Triangle. If it were played at a neutral site possibly, but do not expect a well officiated game in this one. I say Jaguars 40 Patriots 27
25. I know the Titans have more than Wesley, but Wesley is the one that can get open deep whenever he feels like it.
