1. (looking at your page) For the restaurant selections on HWY 6... Right past the FB Tollway, in the Kroger parking lot, there is a Subway and a New York Pizzeria.  The NY Pizzeria is pretty good.  It's fancy for a pizza place though. You have a Wing Stop on the left hand side about 2 miles past Fort Bend Tollway.  There is a Mexican food place in this same parking lot.  I went there and wasn't impressed.  There is also a barbecue place in this parking lot, but I have never been to it. You have a 59 Diner on the left hand side about 3 miles past Fort Bend Tollway. There is a Black Eyed Pea a little bit off HWY 6 on the right hand side about 3 miles past FB Tollway(turn right next to the Sonic) On the left hand side just past the 59 Diner you get to a pretty big shopping center. In there you have a Taco Cabana, Johnny Carino's and Chili's.
2. I have to work til 6:15....gonna be a tight one making it to the game on time. Lee won district in baseball this past year if I am not mistaken  ;) Lee is a much, much better team than they were last year.  This game will be interesting.
3. Of course I have Lee  ;D I haven't seen much of Sterling, but I do know they have Nelson and Mixon who both have a ton of speed. If Lee can keep both of them guys in front of them, they should be good to go. Anyone going to this game?
4. The Lee roster came out in the Sun today.  No Anointe Franklin which is too bad. The kid was on varsity as a freshman last year towards the end of the season.  Not sure if he transferred or what the story is.
5. prepare
“Their returning running back is probably the leader in the Houston area in yards,” Flanigan said. “The quarterback is the coach’s son, and he’s back. They have some big offensive linemen in front of him. Overall, they are just real well coached.
6. I will be incredibly surprised if FW struggles with Angleton.  That passing game should chew Angleton up.
7. Goose Creek, birthplace of Gary Busey.
8.
All y'all think what you want to think but when da bears come to town you have a wrecking machine to deal with.
Machine
9. Really wish I could make it to this one since they are playing right across the street from my house.  I'll be at the Lee-Sterling game though.  Hope someone keeps us up to date, as I will be on this site looking for updates.
10. Jake Matthews is the one that graduated last year right? He went to A&M if I'm not mistaken.
11. I would venture to guess that Dayton will win this one just from everything I have heard and seen thus far.
12. Lee had a kid on JV. I was watching freshman/jv/varsity with my wife in the scrimmages against Angleton. As soon as the JV came out and started warming up as the freshmen were finishing up, I told my wife to take a look at this #42.  He looked too big, fast and altogether coordinated to be on JV. There has to be a story behind it I was telling her. He didn't even start with the JV though.  Then coach had to pull him aside and kinda explain to him what he was supposed to do on this next play and they put him in at receiver.  He was open, but they didn't get him the ball. Then they finally put him at running back.  He must have carried the ball 4 times for 120 yards.  He had a couple of 50 yard td runs. They decided to stick him in at safety, and I honestly thought he was going to hurt somebody.  He was just too good for the JV.  He looked like a mini Bernard Pollard out there,  roaming from sideline to sideline, pummeling qb's, rb's and wr's. I wish I knew more about his story.  He played a little with varsity and then ended up injured though. I hope he is ok for his sake and the team's. I'm pretty familiar with most of the Gander players, but I have never seen this kid on any level for the Ganders in the past few years.  He is a bad dude.
13. The overall numbers are down for Lee, but they have some good athletes there still. They will always have Oak Addition, which is from where the majority of their athletes have always come. As far as the buzz, you are right.  Baytown has not had a winner to get behind in a while. Trust me, if they do get a winner, the buzz will be right back.  What is amazing is that a team like North Shore does not sell out every game they have over at their stadium. They are a really good team, and talk about no buzz. Just wait until one of these Baytown teams gets their stars aligned and starts out a season 7-0. Or better yet, wait til one of them makes it to the second round of the playoffs.  Baytown will still turn out. They are like any other community this side of PNG. No one wants to go see you get your head bashed in 63-14. Katy would have the same numbers if they went 3-7 for the next 10 years.  That 10th year, you would have the same numbers as Lee or Sterling have now for attendance. Lee has a chance next year.  I think this year they may be a little green yet.
14. Sounds good. The fact they did so well without Josh and basically without Landry for the most part was encouraging. Slim looked the part.  He just played like a freshman at times which is to be expected.  He held his own when they put him out there with the varsity.  The nickname certainly fits.  Myron O'Neal also played pretty well when he got his chance.
15. I figured they won. I was just curious as to how they did. I guess I shouldn't be as concerned now that they are not in Lee's district.
16. The Baytown Sun newspaper is just a shell of its former self. You would think they would have some write ups online about the three local high schools getting in some scrimmage action last night.
17. Hard to believe we don't have any Sterling fans on here? Anyone know how this one went?
18. Who is this freshman rb for GCM? How did the freshman look?
19. From what I have been told, GCM has big receivers but they do not have speed.  This would go along with the Lumberton db's being able to come up on them and play close.
20. I have yet to see Dayton play, but I don't think they should lose to Angleton.
21. Dang it. He was really coming along too. Any reason why Zellars and Franklin didnt play or did I just miss them?
22. Angleton was scoring again as I was walking out of the stadium. It looks as though they were wearing down the Ganders there at the end. Darrion Landry, WR/DB for the Ganders, got hurt and had his arm in a sling.  I hope he's ok. I also did not see Josh Zellars playing, maybe I just missed him, but I don't think he played? Angleton plays a very high risk style of defense.  Lee has four receivers, and Angleton would have 4 cb's in bump and run with Diggs playing centerfield.  The two outside linebackers both blitz off the corner on every single play.  Lee was able to hit a quick one or two up the middle with Keith Johnson squirting by that first wave.  Quandre Diggs is a difficult final man to get by though.  He laid the wood on Johnson on the play where Johnson fumbled.  Lee had a nice drive going up til that point. Honestly, had this not been a scrimmage, I think Lee could have just thrown a fade to Jaevon Richardson every play and gotten a 25 yard gain or a 15 yard pass interference call.  There was no way the corner could contain him and there was no safety help out there. As it was, Richardson probably ended up with 7 catches for 110 yards. The Angleton offense is a whole lot of #10(Diggs) and not much else.  He has a rifle for an arm and he has a couple of nice-sized receivers, but he just is not very accurate at all.  He rifles it right over their out-stretched arms a lot of times.  Diggs is extremely dangerous with the ball though.  He reminds me of Ced Cormier from North Shore in that the best play Angleton has is really the one where things breakdown and Diggs improvises. I was pleasantly surprised that Lee was able to stop Angleton for the 20 or so plays of the controlled scrimmage that both first teams were out there. As I said, Angleton was starting to wear on Lee as I left.  Diggs had the 60 yarder and #12 had about a 50 yard td. I feel like if this were a real game, Angleton would have pulled away in the second half.  Once Lee got tired, Diggs is too fast to contain if you're tired. I sure hope that Angleton really is the #6 team in the state, because Lee was standing in there toe to toe for the most part.  I just don't see it.  I think Angleton lost too much from last year's squad. #1 for Angleton looks pretty stout too.  The middle linebacker #36 maybe, laid a couple of good licks up the middle. Lee was not moving the ball very well, so don't get me wrong about that. Angleton was stopping them left and right for the most part.  There were those few glimmers of hope though that Lee had.  Let's just say they looked much better than they did in the first scrimmage against Deer Park last year.
