1. No doubt that Angleton picked it up in the second half from what I could hear on the radio. Dayton seemed to be tiring out towards the end of the first half.  The Broncos have a LOT of guys playing both ways.  I have no dog in this fight, but it just really was amazing to have the game tied at half.  Dayton just appeared to be the far superior team. Angleton, give them credit, was able to hunker down and somehow keep it close until they could get it turned around. Angleton found them a couple of running backs to go along with Diggs.
2. Angleton is ok.  They are no where near as good as they have been. I only stayed for the first half, just made it home. Angleton was lucky to be in the game.  It was one of those games where Angleton would scratch and claw and fight and tug to get a drive of 8 plays and 22 yards...and Dayton would bite off chunks of yardage. Dayton just kept putting the ball on the turf. Angleton had a long kickoff return for a td to trim it to 10-7, then Dayton fumbled and Angleton really didn't have to move it anywhere to get the field goal to tie it up. Angleton probably had less than 40 yards of offense at the half. Dayton is going to be tough to beat once they get the turnovers under control, because the defense is mighty stout.
3. I booked it on to the house at halftime. Got a 90 minute drive Dayton defense is stout for sure
4. Dayton defense came to play but their offense looks like the keystone cops. Fumbles interceptions etc
5. these Quandre Diggs highlights already been presented here?
6. I'm going to try to be there. I don't get off work in Houston until 6:15 though, so it will be tight.

Manvel won that game against Austin, but just looking at it, they didn't look too good on paper.
What ever - keep thinking that!!
Never said Manvel wasn't good, just that they didn't perform that well against FB Austin.
8. That offense sounds really familiar to a Lee fan  :'( A sophisticated offense does not reside at any of the three Baytown teams at the moment.
9. Yeah I don't mind walking.  That's where I parked for the last game I attended in Dayton.  The junior high you speak of was formerly the high school correct?  My grandmother used to live on 146, the next house past the high school.
10. Yeah, I get off at 6:15....so I will be getting there right at 7 at best  >:(
11. Is there alternative parking in case that fills up?  Is it even in danger of filling up?  I seem to remember having trouble last time I went, but that was 13 years ago.

13. This game is in Dayton correct? Where is Dayton's stadium located now? Where's the best place to park?
14. Has Angleton moved up freshman Josie to varsity yet?
15. Whats happening out there guys?  I know Manvel has a good qb, but is GCM just that bad this year?
16. Lord have mercy
17.
A fight song cannot even be considered for being the best when a majority of the people have never heard it.  When you have to put a youtube link up so everyone can get to hear it for the first time cannot equate to being the best fight song.  With that being said, whether you love it or you hate, Cherokee is the most recognizable fight song and is known throughout this area.  And everyone's disdain for Cherokee is what makes it so great.  It creates a passion for those that love it and those that hate it.
Did you post on the wrong thread? This was the thread for best fight song, not most widely known.  Best fight song has about as much to do with how well known it is as football has to do with tiddlywinks.  The two are not now, nor ever will be related.
18.
Ball High fight song: We know no bounds or limits Victory is our aim. We stand tonight with all our might We're going to win this game. Greater than wings of eagles Stronger than the tide We are Tornadoes, victory-bound Tornadoes We are the greatest power known! B-A-L-L H-I-G-H T-O-R-S Tors! We never fear Port Arthur, Abilene or Ray We are Tornadoes, victory-bound Tornadoes We are the greatest power known! fight song comes on at 1:00 minute mark [Hidden Content]
That's the one. Gets me fired up for some football for sure.  Thanks for the link.
19.
panamamyers - nothing like Dixie and Dull Razor to get a Gander fan going!  What is the status of the band playing those songs this year?  Just remember talk in the past the band director did not let the band play them.  Can't wait till the last game of the season. :)  Sitting on one side but still a Gander! Merla Kramer (Former REL Coach Ron Kramer's wife) can sing every schools song and fight song.  :D  Now she's at GCM.
They played Dixie in the game against LP, because I made a note to listen for it.  In the Sterling game, I am not sure. I know in the past it would depend on who we were playing.  If we played Port Arthur, no Dixie.  If we play Deer Park, Dixie was ok.  Seems weird to me, but I think Port Arthur specifically complained about it. I would hate to see them do away with it. The song that got me pumped up even more was this one that I uploaded on youtube quite some time back... Gander band
20.

What is bridge city fight song  ??? ???
"Semper Paratus"     Is is the anthem of the U. S. Coast Guard
Just gave a listen to that on youtube.  That is a great fight song for sure.  I believe Deer Park also uses it. I just thought of another one. Galveston Ball Ball fight song - AKA theme song from the movie Giant The key points that really sound like their fight song are at 22 seconds and at 45 seconds. My dad always used to sing words to it...not sure if it really was the words that Ball High put in there or what.  starting at 22 seconds to about 40 seconds with "we are the greatest, yes we are the greatest, we are the greatest team on earth"  always sounded like it fit to me lol It didn't sound quite as great when John Humprhey was slicing us up like swiss cheese in the second round of the 1994 playoffs.
21. Can't say I disagree with you.
22. I'll let you know after everyone plays Montgomery.
23. Chronicle only enters total stats based off what they have listed for each game. If they only list the one receiver who had 8 catches for 120 yards and a td for a certain game, then the other two that had 4 catches for 50 yards will never appear in the season stats. So the total stats are a little worthless for individuals unless they are the leading rusher, receiver or passer in EVERY single game of the season.
24. Paw Power by West Brook always got me fired up...not sure that's their fight song though. Baytown Lee and Baytown Sterling both have fight songs that get me fired up as well. I think it just depends on what you heard most growing up.  I've heard Lee play Dixie 5,000 times over the years, so it makes sense it's the one I am tied to most emotionally. Fight, fight, fight Sterling Rangers is another one even though I don't like Sterling much.  I heard it so much over the years, it's bound to trigger some emotion.
