They played the same team twice? According to the Brenham website LC-M won 5-3 and the teams were only to play once.

I was expecting that, Barbe is solid finishing 8th in the final USA Today national poll. It didn't help PN-G had just finished a slugfest.

Indians hand 5A Brazoswood 2nd loss... PN-G (3-2) 12 Brazoswood (6-2) 9 F WP-E. Harrington SV-Dominguez Indians were dominating after 4 innings up 10-3 then the wheels fell off. A couple of errors led to an extended inning where the Bucs put a 6 spot on the board thanks in part to back to back homers off Eric Harrington. PN-G resonded with a 2 run blast in the 5th. Wind was blowing out at the JV field leading to a lot of homers. Indians finished with 3 or 4 while I think the Bucs had 3. Next up for the Indians the Barbe Bucs.

PN-G's record will probably be a little deceiving at the beginning of the year due to their strength of schedule full of 5A teams. Last year it the schedule seemed to backfire on them.

Gabe is an absolute class act. We both came from the same journalism class at PN-G. Just tonight he gave me a call and we talked about how we are going to miss that special group from Orangefield.

Maybe this season but I'm taking this as a program built over time. BC has been really good as of late but that hasn't always been the case.

I think you have to put the big three there PN-G, Nederland, LC-M. The last time PN-G missed the playoffs was in 96 when they finished in a 3rd place tie in 5A. Heres the playoff appearances over the past years... 06,05,04,03,02,01,00,99,98,97,95,94,91,89,88,87,86,85......Not sure past that. 85,86,87,88,95 was in 5A. Plus they were state finalists in 2000 and semifinalists in 2004. In the late 90's Bridge City was a non-factor in district.

First I would like to say I hated having to leave the game after the 3rd, I had to get back for the 10. This team is full of warriors. They could have called it a night when they were down 11-0, or when they trailed by 17 in the second but they refused to. I have really enjoyed this group over the past few years and will truly miss them. I guess the reason I enjoy this team so much is despite their great winning pct. when compared to the size of other teams they seem like the underdogs only to run circles around them. My girl Kristie Sanders is a perfect example of this, despite hitting the floor over and over she just gets right back up just like this entire team, Kristie I'll miss your interviews you've come really far in 3 years, lol. Kaylin I was right there with you tonight on those foul calls, sorry you got such a raw deal in such a big game. To Coach Ancelot great job to keep your team in the game, heck I was getting fired up standing next to the bench maybe you would look good wearing Cardinal red again (hint, hint). Overall it sucks to lose in the playoffs as a senior as many of us know, me included. It's a sudden dose of reality that makes you realize you're growing up. And even though years from now you'll think about tonight as you grow you begin to understand it's not the wins or losses that matter down the line it's the family that you have built with your team. That is what makes athletics special, knowing that this family will be with you for the rest of your life. Congrats on a great season!

Those girls have nothing to be ashamed of. They had a great three year run that I hope will continue. Also tonight I talked to Chelsea's older sister and told her I hope she goes to Lamar. I would love Courtney Wilson to show up there too. There are changes on the way at LU and these girls would help.
