  1. 1. West Brook- A 5A school shouldn't have to play in a place like that, horrible seating and don't get me started on the surface or the lighting. 2. Memorial- The floor isn't bad but for fans you have to sit a mile away. You just don't get the feeling like your really into the game. 3. Central- Once again nice floor but there's like 15 feet between the endzone and stands. The gym just seems really deep, I wonder if it messes with the shooters. These are just three off the top of my head, not exactly the worst (besides West Brook). Other gyms that bother me are PN-G (lighting and very bland, too small compared to old gym), Hardin-Jefferson (day games only, when the sun is shining through the windows on one side). Finally not exactly bad but just weird-Kelly and Cathedral with the stands only on one side.
  2. Actually they did, Lamar was up 1 before a rash of calls went against the Cards. 5 straight charging calls was sickening and sparked a 21-2 run that blew open the game. I spoke to another ref watching the game who said he had never seen a game so poorly called. An older team would have probably handled the situation better but we did not. The best call of the night was when timeout was awarded to the Demons when no one had posession CLASSIC. Before last night I thought that the SWAC held the honor of having the worst officials in college basketball but the SLC has taken over. Officials didn't exactly cost Lamar the game but it didn't destroy the flow of the game.
  3. PN-G won their tournament defeating Dickinson (#9 Region III) in a shootout (2-1) followed by a 1-0 win against Montgomery (#7 Region III). This marks the first time the Lady Indians have won their own tournament. PN-G is (4-1) for the season with their only loss to Pflugerville Connally.
  4. After 2 American 6 National 3 Wildcatter Scorers Kevin Baker- Goal, Assist Paul Albers- 2 Assists
  5. Not saying Brown is on the way, but he has been at multiple games and Lamar is recruiting him.
  6. I don't buy these rankings either. I'll wait till the coaches vote. To say that Nederland, PN-G or LC-M isn't in the top 25 is crazy, one of those teams is always there. They also have Brenham at 13.
  7. Man y'all are harsh. This team hasn't learned to play on the road yet, that's what happens to team that are still getting to know each other. I know some might be thinking they should be together by now but it takes a whole season sometime. Sam has a good club that played toe to toe at UCLA for 3/4 of the game before losing. As far as who would want to go see the Cards they still lead the SLC by far in attendance with over 3,000 a game. Against SFA there were over 4,000 while other SLC schools are lucky to get a 1,000. It's tought to get bigger schools to play in Beaumont because they have nothing to gain but this year BYU played here and Texas Tech is on the way in the near future. Trust me I know Roc, just give him time. Ashton is on the way and other big names could be too.
  8. Lamar is great but only when the sun has gone all the way down. I hate playing there late in the afternoon when the sun is setting. It's lucky a 3rd baseman hasn't been killed. Last summer a guy hit a line drive past me and all I did was hear a buzz past my ear.
  9. Played at Deer Park my senior year, those were the deepest dugouts I've ever been in. I swear when you stood up your head was level to the field. Another nice place to play (not exactly in this area) is Scotland Yard at The Woodlands.
  10. This was like a week ago, I wonder why they waited so long for the story?
  11. Have to agree, 1. Lumberton 2. Central 3. Ozen
  12. Ah yes the old Beehive, I swear the heater was on during games there. Last years Ozen/Memorial game almost had that same feeling but it wasn't the same. Just something about the purple and gold with all those banners.
  13. The Hawk Hecklers by far!
  14. It is but at night it gets very dark, photographers always mention and it was brought up in the Port Arthur News once. During the day is a different story plenty of light (still a nightmare for photogs due to cross of natural lighting) but good for fans.
  15. I have to agree with Evadale and Kirbyville. But not PN-G even though I went there when it was built. The were a lot of building mistakes so it doesn't even hold enough for our pep rally's plus can we get some new lightbulbs please it gets darker and darker every year.
  16. Silsbee I think
  17. Since losing at Lamar in overtime BYU hasn't lost a game, they are now 12-4, 2-0 in the Mountain West. Utah St. 75-62 Western Oregon 102-40 Liberty 73-59 Oral Roberts 72-62 Seton Hall 77-68 San Diego St. 80-58 TCU 89-65 All the wins have come in Provo
  18. Did a story on the team yesterday that will air at 6. Letsinger's wrist is still tender but his shot looked solid. Also he was sick yesterday and missed school, he went to practice so I could do an Athlete of the Week story that will be on Wednesday. Hopefully he's not feeling as bad as I did the past couple of weeks. My pick WH by 8
  19. I think they can, but I agree they need to just focus on getting their team back together and get back into a groove before the playoffs.
  20. Good job but I would take a district win over scrimmage any day (I have to say that: I went to PN-G while my girl went to LC-M, I'm still hurting from football LOL), still big for confidence though. LC-M used to always be a thorn in the Indians side. I remember when PN-G would beat Nederland and have the inside track to district the Battlin' Bears would mess all that up, congrats!
  21. Only the 3rd period
