He's already gotten beaten out twice at two different positions. The latest is by another true freshman 5-star, Minkah Fitzpatrick, who's a longer and more rangy cover guy that Saban probably sees in the mold of first round pick Dre Kirkpatrick. Not to mention the other 5-star track kid, Kendall Sheffield from FB Marshall, will be ready to go next year in the 'Bama secondary. Every kid that's at Alabama has worked hard to get there, just like the vast majority of all other college athletes. The difference is at 'Bama you don't get the same amount of rope because everybody is just as talented as you are.
I highlighted Fields because you really can't get much worse than what he was doing, yet you haven't heard a peep from him until he was laying on A&M's qb last night. Cam Newton got in trouble multiple times at Florida, Urban Meyer didn't kick him off the team but he saw the writing on the wall and transferred. Should he have tried to stick it out at Florida because it was best for him, or did he make the right decision by going to Blinn and winning a title before going to Auburn and winning another title with a Heisman to go with it? Saban suspended Alvin Kamara for the Sugar Bowl a couple of years back, should he have stuck it out at 'Bama to get back in his good graces or go kill it like he's doing at Tennessee right now?
I'm not saying a change of scenery is the best option, I'm just saying playing special teams and backing up younger players at 'Bama might not be. Getting sent home you sophomore year the day before your team's biggest game of the season is a lot darker mark than a misdemeanor arrest as a freshman. If he was in Saban's doghouse before he's probably moved to the outhouse now.

I don't post much on here but I can't stand to hear the crying. Know what you're talking about before you open your mouth. That kid that scored the layup at the buzzer is a kid who hasn't gotten to play much and they tried to get him a bucket because he works hard. Buna has a good young team and a good coach. They will be good this year   Lumberton out played them from the start tonight. Game over and the crying too. Merry Christmas

A lot of teams hold the ball when the game is decided and a lot of them don't. Especially if you have subs on the floor who don't score often or play much. There are teams in the area that will be up by 50+ and still be shooting 3's at the buzzer. You gotta play until it's over, especially in a single digit game.

Congrats to all the young men, that made it.
 

He would look really good in cardinal and white next season toting the rock for his first of many 1,000+ yard season on the The Hill.

Chester Moore and Bob West are pretty good.

First team, second team, and honorable mention on both sides of the ball is ridiculous for sure. When they changed to that format they started messing it up by putting seniors over better players for sentimental reasons. They made themselves feel better by knowing that the better kid would still be on the list. THAT'S the problem. The award should be based on individual performance on the field for THAT year and should NOT have anything to do with the team's record. MVPs and Coaches should, but the rest are about how good you are at your individual position. Oldschool has it right. It should be the team you would field as the best team out of the district if you were to make an allstar team.

You also graduated from PNG....I expect it from Stattrax 14.2 and the Crosby bunch. I'll still read your paper for Chester Moore's articles 

whether it makes sense or not.....

This isn't about PNG and Nederland, its about kids that worked there butts off.
 
And FYI--We cant help that the best QB in district was wearing purple.

Sikes verbally committed on Dec 1st when coaches Langston and Woodard came up to the school to offer him. He wants to major in Engineering and there isn't a much better place to do so. He's going to be a Cardinal. Peck 'em!!
