  1. I did some more checking and I think they are going to lay a 42" pipeline about 4 feet deep under Keith Lake (right down the center of it). To start, they are going to bring in tons of sand and build a platform/penninsula several hundred feet out into the lake near Junior's launch next to Hwy 87.
  2. They use mice for bait.
  3. I am not sure about BCP and French. BCP was only a school for about 10 years. I'm not sure how you develop a big rivalry when you barely existed. Before that however, the two schools that combined to make BCP (Beaumont High School and Charlton Pollard High School) had very big rivalries. Beaumont High Royal Purples and South Park High Greenies were huge rivalries as well as Hebert High Panthers and Charlton-Pollard High Bulldogs.
  4. Looking for a place to do it legally? ;D
  5. Anyone that will admit to running dogs in east Texas?
  6. I sure hope not, they have the best looking jerseys around. ;D
  7. He would have been the fastest on a lot of teams. I don't remember many (or any) people catching him in all of the years he played.
  8. Fresh or saltwater or does it matter?
  9. How far are you willing to drive and from what area?
  10. I've been checked by a federal game warden there while duck hunting. ;D
  11. I have heard that they are about to lay a pipeline from the new LNG plant in Sabine Pass right across Keith Lake.
  12. They dredge all along the ship channel every so often anyway. It muddies up the water for a short time but the tidal changes get rid of it pretty quick.
  13. I've caught redfish and flounder there but I haven't been in about three or four years.... or in other words, Post-Rita.
  14. Not completely correct. Retired said for "any other reason than the field being unplayable". Isn't that why the games are being postponed? I don't think these games in question are being postponed because the star player is out of town but rather that the heavy rains have made the fields unsafe and unplayable.
  15. I think they spent all of their money on that new beautification project that was just in the news. No money left for a tarp... but they sure have a pretty new gate to walk through.
  16. The LC-M ship hasn't sunk but it sure is sinking fast. They are bailing water and hoping to stop the leak. If they do, they can keep her afloat but if they spring another leak, they will go down to Davey Jones' locker.
  17. At Nederland. Ozen went for the double play and threw the ball away.
  18. Nederland wins 1-0. Great game by both teams with almost 20 strikesouts by the pitchers.
  19. Based loaded with no outs in the bottom of the 7th for Nederland.
  20. Great stuff outlaw. Nothing more to add to that.
  21. Ah yes, the discussion of rights. A coach has every right to tell his players anything that he wants as long as he does not break the law. The players also have the right to not pay attention to the coach. It is their right to come and go as they please. The coach however has the right to kick them off of the team at his discretion. It may not the correct thing to do but he certainly isn't violating any laws or anyone's rights by doing so. The school board or superintendent (whoever makes the decisions) has the right to terminate the coach or reassign him if he is not performing up to their standard. The belief that a coach has no rights over his players is totally incorrect. Up until he breaks the law or violates the rules and trust of the people that hired him, he can run his team as he sees fit and that includes making any rules that he wishes. I am not speaking of the coach in question on this thread but any coach. He can make all of the arbitrary rules that he wants as long as no laws are broken or school rules are violated. If the school board feels that a coach is being unfair in his treatment of players, they can replace him.
  22. Sounds like a challenge. If you accidentally fall overboard, the fish can return the favor. Adds a bit of excitement to the trip to know the fish can have you for lunch if you make a mistake.
  23. .......... with a flyrod.
  24. The geese aren't gone from the shooting. You can't kill enough of those things. The hunters just needed to find out what part of the area they are/were feeding in. But alas, they will be back by the millions next season.
