Thanks. I get sarcastic on here and go for the dry sense of humor and it is surprising how many people miss it. It seems fairly easy to spot for me... maybe since I do the same thing to make a point. ;D

you feel stupid yet? notice, your the only one trashing them. For one, Lumberton plays as a team, our goals aren't to get 5 guys to the next level like ozen and central. we play as a TEAM, therefore, we MIGHT only have 1 or 2 each year.. if that. And TWO, there is only so much a coach can do, he just doesn't have D1 size, and he knows that.. I don't think Penny is trashing them at all. I think it was a swipe at the people that blame Nederland's coaches for not getting their players better scholarships. There has been much said on this site about how much the coaches are the ones to get the scholarships more than the ability of the players with particular attention to Nederland coaches. In a dry sense of humor way, Penny was making the point how stupid that argument is. I guess it went over everyone's head. Then again, I could be wrong............

I did not make it although I tried. I was supposed to have had a slot for me open and a guy said that he had made the required deposit. I could have easily paid but the guy that was part of the group kept saying that it was paid. It turned out that he had lied and never sent in the money to reserve the slot. The ranch then gave the slot to another person. Like I said, I could have easily paid for it but kept being told that the all of the group's deposits had been paid when my slot was not.

Do you mean can anyone on here beat that? I saw a P&Y this year taken in south Texas that was over 200.... but it sure didn't come off of my east Texas lease.

In '98, '99, '00 and '01 Nederland made it to three straight years in the quarters and the last year in the semi's and no all-state players. How is that? Four straight years in a row in at least the quarters and no all-staters? The problem is that you can't judge all state players by how far the team goes. I am not saying that Dayton didn't have any deserving players and I am sure that many teams could say the same. To question how a team can make it that far doesn't mean anything however. Therein lies the concept of "team".

Ancelet's makes a jalepeño and a jalepeño/cheese deer sausage that is great. There are no chuncks of jalepeño in it but you get the flavor without being overpowering. They either puree it or chop it very small and add just the right amount (IMO).

I wish that was true but I could argue that point from experience.
