I wonder what systems the helicopter had and what was required. Large passenger aircraft are required to have a TCAS operating which is a collision avoidance system. It should detect a conflict in flight paths but military aircraft might not have them. The TCAS should give avoidance instructions to the pilots like it might say descend or pull up to avoid collision. It should give opposite directions to the opposing aircraft, telling one to ascend and the other to descend. I am assuming that the helicopter didn’t have that system. I think…. I am a pilot but have never flown a plane with TCAS.

If I was looking for a race I am sure that I could. When less White doctors are graduating as compared to their race percentages in this country, it hampers the claim that they are bumping people out of positions. Maybe it’s Asian privilege.

I wouldn’t suggest hiring or promoting by tests or certainly not as the main or only factor. It is fair however and I have seen what a government thinks about being fair and qualified, considering the topic. Calling in…. When I retired I had almost 4,000 hours of sick time accrued. On average I called in sick a little over one day a year. I could have called in sick for almost two years…. 😎

Applying for a civil service job for a police or fire department requires everyone taking the same test, at the same time and at the same location. The tests are sealed until the testing process begins and the police or fire department doesn’t set the test. They do that because no one is supposed to even know what the questions are over until the test begins. All hiring must come from the ranking of the test scores with no added points except a state mandated 5 extra points for an honorable discharge from the military. Once the tests are scored, including adding the military points, the person(s) hired has to come from the ranking of the test scores. Whoever scored number one has to be put through the background investigation, the physical agility/obstacle course, interview, etc., before they can move on to the second place person from the final ranking. Anyone who is not hired has to be told why and they have I believe 10 business days to appeal the results to an outside board. So legacy, who you know, your race, where you live, etc., has a much harder time being used because the state law forces the hiring process by test score and military service only The cities in this area seem to have a strong dislike for that merit based process. The only way they can circumvent state law is by a contract with a police or firefighter union. The city governments are bound by state law on hiring and promotions. Promotions are based similar to the hiring process. The city civil service commission, volunteers appointed by the mayor, choose study material such as books that the promotional test will be based on. The departments have no say in the testing materials or the questions. The promotional materials must be made available to everyone for at least 90 days prior to any test and the test itself has to be given at least a 30 day notice. Again, everyone has to take the test at the same time at the same location which are graded on scene. There are no additional points given except for seniority, at least by my department civil service rules. The promotions must then be given by the final test scores. If both sides agree to allow a change in the law however, state law can be overcome. That sometimes puts the union in a good bargaining position. Again, the cities don’t seem to particularly like that process of merit based promotions. They want to put who they want in a position without being required to base it on anything. That is why I asked, when people say that they want to take sex and race out of the equation by removing it from the applications, the state already has such a system for hiring and promoting of police and firefighters. The cities don’t seem particularly fond of that system.

Which party is going to be the hurdle to removing race from job applications? I have seen it personally in the hiring process where I worked. That is only one location but I wonder…….

Yes I think it was at least three times that he specifically stated that the air traffic controllers were not known to be at fault. He made that statement during his opening remarks, saying that there was no evidence that the ATC was at fault and at least two more questions when reporters tried to get him to say that it was their fault. He denied it any such claims conclusions.

The air traffic controllers (ATC) were in contact with both aircraft (as they had to be in that class of airspace). The helicopter asked for “visual separation” which was approved by ATC. Visual separation is relying on eyes to see and avoid other aircraft and not rely only ATC instructions or vectoring. Visual separation can only occur in clear conditions where other aircraft can be easily seen. This was a crystal clear night.

No but apparently Asians are. According to the Association of American Medical Colleges, almost 22% of medical school graduates are Asian. Their population in the US is reportedly 6%. So they are graduating doctors at a pace almost 400% higher than their population. The White population is about 61% yet they are graduating only 55% of medical students so 10% lower than their population. It seems like Asians are bumping everyone. My PCP is Asian, my dentist is Indian and my wife’s PCP and dentist are both Asian. My wife’s only surgery was from a surgeon who is Black. My younger brother recently had stents put in one of his carotid arteries by his cardiologist who is Asian as well as his pulmonologist. Those darn Asians! 🤣 My brother’s neurologist is Black. But hey, his PCP is White….. So out of eight physicians from my immediate family members, five are Asian, two are Black and one is White. Neither I nor any of my family has ever claimed that we are dissatisfied with our care nor thought our physicians were DEI hires. That is awesome about your son. I say that if they enforce the law already on the books, it will severely hamper the circle. Not the deportations but the fact that coming back after a deportation is a felony. How many people would you have to sentence to three years in prison before they catch a clue? Now if the circle because of no enforcement. How many times have we seen a news article about an illegal alien committing a felony and part of the article say something like, he has been deported 10 times. Okay, he committed 10 felonies. How much prison time was given? Oh, none!? Gee, and he came back? Imagine if no Texas police officer was allowed to give a traffic citation. The laws would still be on the books, but they would just not be enforced. So if DPS catches you go 105 miles an hour on I-10 on the way to Houston, all he can do is warn you. How many people do you think would be going over 100 miles an hour? How many people would ever pay their $85 a year for a vehicle registration? Who would stop at stop signs or red lights? Well, that’s the system. You have right now within enforcement of immigration laws. It is simple, just enforced the law and it won’t take very many people before word will get around. You might be able to sneak in illegally but at the moment you are caught you had better resign yourself to at least three years in federal prison. So yes, it’s a circle, but why? If it’s enforced, how many people will risk guaranteed prison instead of merely a return ticket?

Glad you are on board. There are about 150,000 people in Jefferson County, Texas who are considering minorities by race, ethnicity or religion. In the past decade how many hate crimes have been filed by the state or federal governments? I would guess that it’s less than 0.0019%. So let’s get rid of hate crime laws which have no measurable impact. There’s no use wasting any effort on such an extremely small amount of people. Just repeal those laws and let’s move on. Or perhaps you feel that any abuse is wrong no matter how many victims there are?

I didn’t watch this video but saw one a month or so ago with AOC making the claim. It went something like….. If we don’t let trans people into any locker room (almost exclusively boys in girls’ locker rooms) then we will have monitors doing crotch checks in the locker rooms to make sure that no one is cheating. THAT will allow sexual predators to (I suppose) volunteer to be the checkers. 🤣🤣🤣 Nope, you can’t make this stuff up.

You hit the nail on the head. It was all about appearances in order to keep Trump out of office. The penalty didn’t matter . Just like the sham impeachment in order to say that he was twice impeached. Just like the claims that the Trump Supreme Court was taking away women’s rights. Just like the fake claims of an insurrection. Just like the fake documents case. And why was all of that done? Because they knew four years ago that they would not beat him again. The Dems didn’t waste all of that effort and money on an outgoing one time politician. They knew in 2021 that they likely could not beat Trump again in a straight up election and did everything they could for appearances. They could make claims in the campaign that they knew was coming.Insurrectionist, convicted felon and blah blah blah. The women will reject him! The Hispanics will rise up in unison! (to be fair they did but just not as a Democrats expected) The Blacks won’t support him like the Republicans are claiming! In fact I believe that Trump gained ground in all 50 states. So I would expect you to stick with the convicted felon narrative… after Biden pardons his son’s felony conviction. All of this facade has worked so well for the Democrats. And in 2021 they knew it was coming. Just think, the Democrats, who spent a billion dollars in three months, couldn’t beat a person who was twice impeached and convicted of 34 felonies.
