How many times have we seen a news article about an illegal alien committing a felony and part of the article say something like, he has been deported 10 times. Okay, he committed 10 felonies. How much prison time was given? Oh, none!? Gee, and he came back? Imagine if no Texas police officer was allowed to give a traffic citation. The laws would still be on the books, but they would just not be enforced. So if DPS catches you go 105 miles an hour on I-10 on the way to Houston, all he can do is warn you. How many people do you think would be going over 100 miles an hour? How many people would ever pay their $85 a year for a vehicle registration? Who would stop at stop signs or red lights? Well, that’s the system. You have right now within enforcement of immigration laws. It is simple, just enforced the law and it won’t take very many people before word will get around. You might be able to sneak in illegally but at the moment you are caught you had better resign yourself to at least three years in federal prison. So yes, it’s a circle, but why? If it’s enforced, how many people will risk guaranteed prison instead of merely a return ticket?

The never Trumpers and registered Democrats flipped to Trump across the board. It was so bad that Hispanics in Texas voted more for Trump by 10%. When Beto barely lost to Cruz six years ago, it was proclaimed that Texas was now a purple swing state and Cruz had won his last campaign and was finished as a senator. Oh well, that didn’t work out so well either. We could keep going but the Democrats who control the party have committed a serious faux pas. And like my relative, they have now doubled down with… but he is still a convicted felon! 😢 Understood…. because that’s all they have left after a historical embarrassment. Glad you are on board. There are about 150,000 people in Jefferson County, Texas who are considering minorities by race, ethnicity or religion. In the past decade how many hate crimes have been filed by the state or federal governments? I would guess that it’s less than 0.0019%. So let’s get rid of hate crime laws which have no measurable impact. There’s no use wasting any effort on such an extremely small amount of people. Just repeal those laws and let’s move on. Or perhaps you feel that any abuse is wrong no matter how many victims there are?

I didn’t watch this video but saw one a month or so ago with AOC making the claim. It went something like….. If we don’t let trans people into any locker room (almost exclusively boys in girls’ locker rooms) then we will have monitors doing crotch checks in the locker rooms to make sure that no one is cheating. THAT will allow sexual predators to (I suppose) volunteer to be the checkers. 🤣🤣🤣 Nope, you can’t make this stuff up.

You hit the nail on the head. It was all about appearances in order to keep Trump out of office. The penalty didn’t matter . Just like the sham impeachment in order to say that he was twice impeached. Just like the claims that the Trump Supreme Court was taking away women’s rights. Just like the fake claims of an insurrection. Just like the fake documents case. And why was all of that done? Because they knew four years ago that they would not beat him again. The Dems didn’t waste all of that effort and money on an outgoing one time politician. They knew in 2021 that they likely could not beat Trump again in a straight up election and did everything they could for appearances. They could make claims in the campaign that they knew was coming.Insurrectionist, convicted felon and blah blah blah. The women will reject him! The Hispanics will rise up in unison! Like all such cases, the Facebook comments are entertaining. I like the comments (so many) where people are demanding answers, we need to be made aware of the circumstances, the police won’t tell us why, this needs to be looked into further, they haven’t said why so something is being covered up, there’s more to the story, etc. No, you don’t need to know what happened. The police probably aren’t going to tell you why and if they do eventually after an arrest, they aren’t likely to give details. It’s on a need to know basis and you don’t need to know. There is always more to the story because neither the police nor the DA typically release such information. The police and DA nightmare is when a justice of the peace releases the information which is legal but can sometimes hamper the investigation.

Anyone watch the video of the Los Angeles Assistant Fire Chief saying that if a person responds to your emergency, you want someone who looks like you? This premise she claims is based on if we look the same, the firefighter would better understand your situation. What situation? Let’s see, a heterosexual White male firefighter finds a woman in a burning house who is suffering smoke inhalation and at risk of death. But wait? Is she a race other than White? What are her pronouns? Is she actually a born female or a transgender female? How long should the male firefighter question her before he can tell if he understands her situation? “I realize that you are at risk of death but I really need to understand your situation”. When answering a follow up situation that the Assistant Fire Chief brought up about whether a woman firefighter could drag a person out of a burning building, her response was, “He got himself in the wrong place if I have to carry him out of a fire”. I wonder if the police could use the same rationale? Maybe the police could say, we realize that you are a victim of a violent assault but before we can assist you, are you concerned that we have a different ethnicity or our pronouns are different? Also note that you should not have gotten yourself into the situation where you were assaulted! So by the Assistant Fire Chief’s own words, the ability to do the job physically is not important. It is knowing and understanding that people being rescued (or perhaps a weak and failed attempt at a rescue) are concerned if the person saving his/her life either looks the same or has the same lifestyle. Heck, maybe a straight Black woman would reject having her life saved if the only rescuer was a transgender male. DEI at its finest….. 😳

If overturned, the conviction goes away but the arrest record doesn’t. That is why some people seek to have the record expunged. To get it expunged basically means that it never happened. The record is removed and possibly sealed according to state law.

No, a conviction cannot be expunged for a conviction, depending on state law. I am fairly certain that there is no way to remove a standing conviction If it is overturned on appeal he probably can but it if more like a formality. A person who is arrested for DWI in the case is Dropped or a find a person, not guilty, might want his record expunged because it might look bad on a future job application. Everybody knows what happened to Trump and he is not going to be applying for a job anywhere. A person could choose to believe or not believe in the conviction but merely having a court say ignore this really won’t matter to him. in my opinion ….
