Any updates ?

During Neumanns early years here we had some great teams and especially during the Troy Sumrall years I thought after he was gone we would just become a once in a while good team, boy was I wrong because we just keep on truck'n. Looking at the quality of guys we are loosing to graduation seems like a tall order to replace but I think we will all be pleasantly surprised when we see some of those puppys take the field next year as full grown bulldogs. (hate wishing my life away, but I can'nt wait.

some of you are really hung up on the score comparisons, and I guess if that is the only barometer you have then so be it.  But if any of you were at Reliant Friday night you saw a different barometer and that is the heart of the bulldogs, that is the one thing the scores and the stats don't show, look for the score to be in the high twenties with the dogs coming out on top.  By the way Dawson did have more yards than us but unless someone can figure out how to redeem them for points then its just stats and won't get you a win.

If Montana is playing for Vidor and the  system they have then he is the best QB they could ever hope to have, under a different system (drop back passer) then I think he would excell at RB.  But by the time he gets to college who knows where he may excell, offense, defense?? As for his choice to participate in a mission for his church I think that really defines his character every bit as much as his expertise as a football player. I'm a Nederland bulldog and glad I had the pleasure to watch him play.

Buddy I think the most players suited up at any time this year is 44 but most of the time it has been between 37 to 40 mostly in the high 30's.  A lot of teams in the playoffs bring their entire JV up when the playoffs start as you saw from Dayton on Saturday.  Under Neumann the JV practices against the varsity every week we are in the playoffs without the benefit of a game to play. been like that for 20 years and it shows a lot of dedication from the JV.

I agree SC has did well in three years, but with your attendance numbers over 2000 you should be pretty good, heck if Nederland had those numbers we'd be whippin up on Big 12 teams. lol

Vidor needs to have some time consuming drives (that end in scores) and limit SC offense opportunities if they can do that then they have a good chance to beat SC.  Vidors Defense is pretty good and they will need their A game Friday night....I guess this old bulldog will go to the game and help pull the pirates through.

I've watched Nederland take out teams in the playoffs that were laced with D1 prospects and our team not have anyone that was going to play at the next level.  Neumann teams for whatever they may have lacked in sheer talent they made it up with teamwork and playing smart. (they got the smart part from good coaches)

Can't see a letdown... outright DC on the line,  last home game (senior night) seniors are'nt gonna dissapoint their Moms and Dads, and if we use some of our back ups....well they do pretty well too. Dogs by three or four TD's.

several years ago Bridge city had a coach (can't remember his name) He brought the wing T with him and did ok but not great. The one year he had 17 players get scholarship at some level, no school in this area came close in that area, he did manage to not make the playoffs which I thought was mind boggling, a really good coach would have taken that bunch a long way. Get yourself a good head coach give him time to surround himself with his choice of assistants and the winning will take care of itself.

It sounds like some of you think that the records of the teams should decide what margin the score should be. That is plainly silly especially for the Nederland/PNG game.  All week all you could hear was (throw the records out for this game because it is a rivalry game). And rivalry game does not even give justice to MCM. If you think the level of intensity PNG had with Summer Creek was the same as with Nederland then you don't know a thing about the Nederland PN-G game history.  I'm a bulldog fan and I never for a minute thought we would beat you guys by a really lopsided score, the reason is those young men (both sides) have way too much pride, some of the folks on this thread find it easier to say well the bulldogs are not as good as their ranking because we did'nt score enough. Maybe you guys should openly give some credit to your Indians for battling the dogs hard. I havn't heard much of that.

When Nederland and PN-G play the records mean nothing at all, the only thing right now that matters is getting a win tomorrow night. Both High Schools hallways have been at a fever pitch all week long same at the middle schools and elementary schools, same at the local businesses, this is the most personal sports event between the schools there will be until we meet again next year.  Believe me underdogs have won this contest before so as a Bulldog fan I don't take anything for granted. One thing is true for both schools....If Ned or PN-G had to have a one win season that win would be against the other...that would be the kind of season you could live with.

Vidor wins 35-14  Pirates will eat the clock up and leave Ozen with not a lot of touches of the ball.

Bulldogs 28 Vidor 13  (my son picked our tickets up this morning at the Vidor field house, he said a lot of Ned folks were there) Just wanted to let everyone know the tickets are on sale now.

Pirategirl should the Bulldogs lose next Friday there very well may be some Nederland fans make excuses for the loss, but just remember it was pirate fans last year who made excuses, you had players hurt, No. 9 for the dogs made a lucky catch on 4th down, and their were snide remarks that we bought the Refs. all these remarks were on this board last year. Just sayin

Buc Fan most of the guys do buy DCFM for entertainment, and information, alot of the information and stimulus for confersation comes from DCFM.  This year the day the magazine went on sale I also got my letter for my season tickets (Nederland) to me it always seems like the start of the football season. 

Those guys must care because look where they are hanging out, they did'nt have to stop at all.

I'm not sure where some of you were sitting but most of the Nederland fans were on there feet more than in there seats. The Bulldog crowd was loud and in the game right to the end just like our players. To suggest they need fan lessons is stretching it to find a subject to talk about.

we have a ton of options on this team offensively there usually is'nt enough time to spread the ball to everyone. We all know we have some plays in the playbook that we don't see much, and the good thing is our opponents have'nt seem them either. Some of the great playoff teams of several years back always had surprises like that, I look for it to happen again.

I was impressed with the way Bridge City hung with Coldspring (tough draw for a first game) I think to say coldspring stumbled against BC is a disservice to the Cardinals excellent effort. I was'nt there either I just know coldspring got a taste of a team from a different district and were not able to push em around like they did in their own district.  I say Bridge City Cardinals did well.

Brenham needs to take Ozen very serious,,Nederland fans learned that Mr. Green can shake things up with a good defense(believe me Brenham we have a good defense) and once he starts scrambling all bets are off, just saying.

Sounds like if coach Boyd was satisfied with his teams perfomance against Nederland then that explains more losses than wins, Hard to believe he said it.

Well it seems like GCMPATS knows more about the German language than he does about High school football, but he is entertaining I just wonder if he will be entertaining us Saturday morning? One question from GCMPATS just how much history do you guys have in the playoffs?
