Let's make this happen. I'll take 10-4A all stars 42-41 in an upset over Kilgore.
-
How's everyone feeling about this district after the first 4 games? Not too far of a reach to say the 4 teams are pretty well decided, but lots of possibilities about the order still even though BC still has the inside track in my opinion.

He must have heard you. Hard to tell because the broadcast quality was bad last night but it looked like he had around 150 yards and 3 touchdowns on the ground.

I would be way more worried about them beating Huffman than Vidor or Liberty. If HJ is good enough to beat Huffman there is not much of a chance they will lose to Vidor and basically no chance they lose to Liberty. Huffman blanked Liberty 42-0 and was up 52-24 in the 4th before emptying the bench and allowing 14 more points to make it look competitive against Vidor. Huffman looked awful against Lumberton and I understand that's why some people are thinking HJ should win this game. I just hope for the first time this year Huffman pulls their head out and actually plays up to their potential because they really should be a lot better than they have been so far.

The Huffman game was a disaster from the start. It's the first time I've been able to watch them in person this year and my God were they unprepared. Lumberton played a good defensive game but Huffman made it easy on them by running the ball up the middle 45 consecutive plays for 1 yard each time. Huffman's QB who is dynamic had ONE designed run the whole game. Had they come out passing and stayed with it they could have scored 40 points easy. It would not have mattered with the defense they put on the field though. They will probably beat Vidor 71-70 but they better treat the following week against HJ as a playoff game and play the best 11 kids on defense or they could go from the favorites to win the district to missing the playoffs. As for the other games BC will beat HJ handily. Lumberton will beat Liberty as bad as they want to. LCM should beat Livingston pretty comfortable. Bridge City is clearly the best team in the district with 2-5 being up for grabs. Finishing third or 4th in this district will not be a pleasant experience.

Man I hope all this optimism for Huffman is warranted. I think Huffman should win, but I feel like it will be a close game. I wouldn't give 15 points. -
Here's my predictions: Livingston 42 HJ 28 Huffman 56 Liberty 14 Lumberton 21 - BC 20 LCM 35 - Vidor 21

Most interesting? Lumberton vs Bridge City and HJ vs Livingston. I think Lumberton wins 20-19 ish and Livingston probably by 2 scores but I'm still curious to see how HJ stacks up.

Lumberton isn't bad at all. I'm not sure why everyone says that. Vidor is potentially the weakest team in the district this year. I think Livingston is clearly improved but I wouldn't crown them district champs just yet but you better pencil them in as a playoff team. Their week 1 opponent was a very weak 6A school but beating Needville is a damn good win. I have no idea what to make of HJ other than they will be better than last year with vastly improved skill players who are dangerous. Bridge City will be a mystery until they play some quality teams that test them. Clearly the defense will still be stout. Did LCM's QB play last night? Can't really judge them at all until he is on the field. So far Liberty has looked below average and shouldn't be a threat in the district at all. Huffman's offense will score a ton of points all year even though they are down 2 of their top WRs right now. Their defense is the X factor in this district. If it's solid they are the favorites, if it slips it's up for grabs. I THINK the LaMarque loss isn't as bad as it looks because LaMarque apparently had 8 move in starters. Next week will tell more when LaMarque plays Hitchcock. I think this year will be a lot tighter than last. We probably won't see any undefeated teams.

Very good insight. Gut feeling tells me Kingwood by 14 in this one, so you should probably bet the house on LP. One thing is for certain of all the good games this week this is the one I'm attending and can't wait for it to start. That LB for KW (Haug) is the real deal. Should be a fantastic matchup.

Way to go BH! Hard to say nice rebound because they won last week but this was a much better performance! -

BH looked rusty. Way too many drops and very fortunate to recover that fumble at the 8. Not a strong start at all.
