I dont know but it says Porter @ Dayton on Friday at 6 and Dayton @ BH Saturday at 12 on Daytons schedule.
District 19-4A has 9 teams in it.  Makes a team have 2 bye in district which wipes out a whole week.  To prevent this and keep tourn games, the district has some weeks in which they play 3 (Tues, Fri, Sat) games a week instead of 2.
 2. Tyler Davenport - Crosby- 48 K's already in 26 inn. against top teams. Santa Fe - 6 K Babers Hill - 11 K Dayton - 13 K 2 inn agaist Magnolia West - 4 K Summer Creek - 14 K I cant wait to see him develop at Texas State
 3. Crosby goes 4-0 in this tournament.  With wins over Magnolia West, Aldine, and Baytown lee and Splendoria. You are not kidding about Tomball.  I watched them play Deer Park. They looked like a college team taking the field.
 4.
Your facts are flat out wrong about Breithaupt and what he did.  My brother in law played for him the entire time he was there.  I was in school during that time as well.  The above posted is EXACTLY correct.  Breithaupt was NEVER the assistant principal BUT was the principal during the 91-92 school year.  He left after that year to the UIL.  During the 91-92 school year Vaughan was the AD and Breithaupt was the hd basketball/principal.  Breithaupt NEVER worked at HJ in ANY capacity where he was not the basketball coach except in the late 70's when he was Jimmy Burke's assistant coach. As for losing good football coaches, Huckabay left on his own accord BUT, in his last two years HJ was fielding teams with 17 players on the varsity.  Fischer was at HJ from 1996-1997 school year through the 2004-2005 school year.  That is almost ten years as the coach.  I'm not sure where you got three coaches in 7 years.  HJ hasa had TWO football coaches in the last 17 years. You have a right to your opinion BUT, your facts about when other coaches were here and when they left are dead wrong.  I can assure you of that.
My facts are not messed up. We were talking about the 90's coaches. Remember I went to school there.  I Played for Breithaupt and Sutherland. Also played for WEB, your other Head Football/Baseball Coach that you did not count (89-92), Huckabay(92-96), and Fisher(my brothers played for him).  Breithaupt took over the Assistant principal job/responsiblities in 91 like I said when our Assistant Principal (Mr. Dixon) Shot our Superintendant (MR. HILL). I know he was the Assistant Principal because I got in trouble that year and was suspended BY HIM!! Sat in his office and got dog cussed for doing something stupid!!  If you look at his years of Service at UIL it will tell you the same thing.
 5.
Breithtaupt was brought in as AD/hd basketball at the 89-90 school year and remained in that capacity through the 90-91 school year, those two years HJ was 8-2 and 7-3 in football.  In the 91-92 school year Breithaupt became the principal/hd basketball and Bruce Vaughan became the athletic director and was already girls basketball coach.  Breithaupt left for the UIL after the 91-92 school year.  Vaughan remained on staff as the AD/girls bball coach until the 97-98 school year and that is when Pat Fischer was brought in.  That was also the same year HJ went to 4A for two years with the smallets enrollment in the state for 4A at that time.  It was Fischer who lead them through 4A before dropping back down and then having the best run of football seasons that HJ has had including a state quarterfinal berth.  HJ's enrollment was at an all time high during Fischer's first 5 years or so and then enrollment began to decline and has ever since until the last few years when HJ went to open enrollment.  That has helped bump enrollment back up.
I attened HJ from 89-93. I was always under the influence that Vaughn was the AD.  He was always in the boys off season programs watching.  Breithaupt always stayed with basketball. He never showed his face in the off season. Brithaupt was assistant principal. Did not coach basketball in 93. Brithaupt did not go to UIL until March of 95. Regardless... HJ was not able to hold on to these good football coaches... Web, Huckaby and Fisher. It is not good for a football program to have 3 different head coaches in 7 years. I know Sutherland... he is a great coach.. In fact I heard him speak when I was in college.. He started as a football coach.. I know he would do a great job... I am just saying that HJ will not have any stability in the football program unless they get a AD/football coach.
 6.

Lazeek, every time you post something, it proves my theory... You guys are actually good with the thought that our basketball coach should be the AD... I believe that would hurt our football program because now your not going to get a quality coach... AD's are traditionally football coaches and they want that title... Just tired of the blatant lie that some sports are treated better than others because it just simply isn't true. Then why would we ever consider giving our AD title to our basketball coach when we live in a state where FOOTBALL is king? Because basketball is the only sport that matters at HJ...
Go look at HJ's football past.  Some of their most successful years were when Breithaupt was the AD/Basketball coach and when Bruce Vaughan was the AD/girls basketball coach.  I know for the two years that Breithaupt was the AD the football team went 7-3 and 8-2.  I am not pushing for the basketball coach or for anyone else for that matter.  I am saying that you don't have to have a football/AD in order for football to be successful.
I was a part of these seasons along with the 7-2-1 in 93.  Breithaupt was NOT the AD during these times. In fact I don't know if Breithaupt was even a AD there.  I know he was a assistant principal after the tragic shooting by our assistant principal.  He may have taken Vaughn's place in the late 90's in which the football program slipped again after going to 4A for a couple of years.  You are right about Vaughn being AD during the early 90's. But the real question is why they were not able to obtain these coaches like Coach Web and Coach Huckabay.  They wanted the AD title.  They believed that the best interests were not being represented.  That is why they did not stay long. As long as the AD is in the Basketball hands, HJ will be a jumping ground for ANY coach that comes in.
 7. LAZEEK, Many of job descriptions and problems that a AD runs into is during Basketball season.  Football is a fall sport that is early. IMO an AD needs to be a football guy... If you have not found out already football rules in TEXAS.. Most ADs, espically at small schools (one school 4A districts, 3A, 2A, 1A), are all football Coaches.  I dont think it is a good idea to hire a basketball AD.  Right now the HJ community is not complaining about basketball.  It is the rest of the sports that are struggling.

I believe he was promised the job before he signed BACK on at HJ... I love the man, but IMO...... I just don't know if he wants it or if it is best for ALL programs... An AD has lots to deal with instead of just concentrating on just basketball.. I could see more than one parent from the football program complaining that the "athletic kids" are "pushed to play basketball only"... Its already happening(people saying the athletic kids only play basketball) and he is not the AD.... I know Sutherland... He was my former coach in football and basketball... I KNOW he would not do that.. but... I really believe the WHOLE athletic program would do better if they hired a football AD... Someone that is new.. not a current head coach just wanting to settle, because really that is what you are going to get right now... What is your opinion(no parent/kid cracks) on the future success of the HJ Athletic Program!!  I would love to hear what you think but in a educated manor... Go Hawks!!
What is the difference between a basketball coach being AD and a football coach being AD?  Does a football coach care more for the overall program than the basketball coach?  Not trying to stir it up but, just asking an honest question based on what you posted.  Funny that you say that the better athletes are pushed to play basketball only because the HJ basketball program saw between 8-12 kids not play this year that played last year and several were going to be contributors on the varsity team.  They all had the same reason for not playing:  to get ready for football next year.  I don't think it matters what sport you coach, that has no bearing on your care for the overall athletic program.  By the sound of your post perhaps schools should make the AD positions split from coaching positions.
Honestly I believe the best person to be AD of a high school is someone not coaching any sport.  He is just the Athletic Director.. That way he can concentrate on all programs. As for a basketball coach being AD, basketball is in mid-season sport.  Usually preparations and problems start stirring up around that time.  Orders for next year, budget crunches, coaching assignments, off season programs, UIL, ect.. All come during this time. I am sure that during that time he wants to concentrate on JUST basketball and not have to deal with the added stress and deal with the community during that time not to mention the after hour responsibilities and what is going on during football.. last 2 weeks of football and playoffs are when basketball starts..  Most football coaches want the AD job.  Most will not even apply if the AD job is not included... As for the athletes.. bosha is very athletic.. you cant tell me he would not help the football program..
 9. If i remember right Pool 1 Huffman 3-0 Dayton 2-1 Ozen 1-2 Davis 0-3 Pool 2 Houston Christian 3-0 Crosby 2-1 Caney Creek 1-2 Nimitz 0-3 Huffman vs Houston Christian for championship!! dont know how that turned out though..

 11.
This is a rumor from the old coach site. Has anyone from HJ heard this? Rumor is, they are making the Basketball Coach the AD and promoting from within.
I would not be doubt it.. When I played there the girls bb coach was the AD.... I believe coach sutherland was promised the job before he got there.  also the superintendent is a former basketball player on the 91 state team  If they hire from out side do you think The OC from Dayton would apply... He is from HJ
 12.
So I guess the only team that even get close to meeting that profile would be WOS in the Golden T. NO ONE ELSE. An their a smaller school around then most.
Do you hear about anyone complaining about coaching in WOS??  I don't!! Coach Thompson is a great coach but if you put him in lets say Lumberton, would he be as successful as WOS.. My guess is not baised on tallent.  nothing against the kids in Lumberton, they just dont have as much tallent as the rest. Now as you drop levels you dont need as many D1, D2 and juco to win based on tallent at the level.. WOS has a bunch for a 3A... Just seems to me everyone is saying "Coaching" is the problem... but you cant be successful team if your QB cant even throw a screen.  It takes BOTH to win..
can you give me a number of D1, D2 and Juco kids that will sign this year from each school?
Man, if you want to know all that info get off your duff and look it up.  Each school?  What, each school in the state of Texas?  I really miss any point that you are trying to make in your request.
I have tried looking it up and cant find it otherwise I would just give you the facts.   My point is if EACH school in BISD  is getting like 4-7 D1, D2, or Juco a year then you have a justification for complaint of Coaches and success aginst other schools that have less tallent.  If you are getting like 1-3 a year then really you dont have a complaint about coaches. You just dont have the players and are playing other schools like Dawson, Brenham, North Shore that have 4-7 going to the next level.  I know there has been some big time players come out of BISD but one player does not make a TEAM!!!  You need 22 starting, 4-9 big talent and the rest good enough to do their job.... I dont know the facts of how many each school has each year, but I can guess that it is not as many as yall think.. I would suggest quit tring to set brush fires and the district will benifit!!

 15.
What makes you think Central will get someone better? Saveat has made some awful hires Most recently he brought in a guy who 4A Crosby no longer wanted to coach 5A West Brook and he took a perfectly good football program that had made the playoffs seven years in a row and turned it into a doormat. Saveat has hired is nephew as Ozen basketball coach and Robert Lee as Central basketball coach both of which squander talented teams year in and year out by their inability to coach. He hired John Clayton at Ozen and Jackson at Central. He allowed Stump and Stowers to get away all though those were probably beyond his control. Letting Washington go was the right move but they also should have done the same with the man who gave him an extra year.
Flannigan was a great hire.. Crosby wanted him.. 7 strait playoff appearances... in fact they had a emergency board meeting which people lined up outside to voice there opinion.  Several board members lost there spots because of their disregard of what the community wanted in the last election .... It was the barrett area, really one board member(same one who made Flanigan cancel with Vidor) , that did not want him... the politics here are bad, just like many areas.. I know you think your Bruins were the best before he got there but the fact is Stump left for a reason..... his program was going down.. Talent pool not there.. in fact he had like 30 something freshman players in his program his last year at a 5A school. Now West Brook had a little over 90.  and how did Stump do where he went...3-5 in district..  They both will do fine just hard to change a program to your coaching philosophy Sorry to go off  just think it is classless to take a shot at a coach that does not deserve it Back to the subject.. IMO I am sure there will be many great coaches that will apply for the job.. but I am sure politics will play role in who is hired.. Beaumont has a history of that. .
 16. I don’t know why yall are still arguing who is better... ya'll are both Georgetown's bitc#*$... heck everyone they played has so don't feel bad... Playoff's are all about matchups...  If Nederland would have played GT in second round they would have be out to... real embarrassing arguing who should be 2nd, 3rd, or 10th place... Congrats to both teams on a succesful season..
 17. Congrats to all the kids that made all-district.  It was a very tough district with lots of players to choose from. As for this bickering I see on almost every thread on who is better, (SC) or (Ned). Far as I am concerned we all should be rooting for ANY team in SE Texas that is still in… it makes all of us look better… Successful Playoffs are built on Matchups.  You can have a good team get knocked out the first round that could have made it deep.. ex… Vidor… The only way this can be settled is for Nederland to beat Georgetown.  Otherwise, ya’ll are BOTH Georgetown’s puncks… That being said good luck to Nederland… Now go out and represent SE Texas well
 18.
welp, Kyle Field it is. who yall got in this one?
Is it set for kyle field or college station high school?? I think this is a bad spot to play for nederland.  Georgetown has played in college station the last two weeks.  I would think they would push for san antone, katy, sam houston..... anything except college station.
 19.
Obviously we have the Twins coming back Key defensive players coming back. Kyle Williams, Chase Nix. All but one on the Oline will be back. That's a positive. Lots of seniors gone but the sophomore class is really good this year, and should make-up for losses. Hopefully a second year in the system means smoother play next year.
Crosby will return 8 starters on the Off and 7 on the Def side. The Jr. class is what will really make a difference next year. OFF side: The Walters - enough said Singleton and Lee (WR) - they can catch and run All the O line except one DEF side: Nix, Foley, Leal (LB) each one is fast and can strike Williams and Weishampel (Saftey) can read and attack fast Eagens (Corner) can defend the pass their are some SO and Fr. that could make an impact next year. Going to be a fun off season.. cant wait till next year!!!
 20. Tyler Davenport -Crosby -  LP - signs with Texas State... Good Job Tyler
 21. I am done talking about this... it is making me sick to my stomach... To Flanigan, staff and kids: stay strong brother, keep fighting the good fight and keep your noise to the grindstone.  I know next year will be better.  The Bruins will be back!!!
 22.

Flanagan was successfull in doing something no other WB head coach has ever done, in the schools history. He started his first season with a losing record. Durley went 11-4-1, and won a state title, in his first year. Leo Nolan won 8 games in his first season, as well as Jerry Henschel. Al Rabb was 11-3, and lost in the quarterfinals, in his first year. Stump won 8 games, in a hurricane shortened 2005 season, but advanced to the 3rd round of the playoffs, before bowing out. Going 4-6, in your first year, is definitely not what we have come to expect. Our expectation are, and have always been higher. We wont accept too many seasons like this one. You better get things together, and put a much improved team on the field next year, Coach Flanagan, or you will be shortest tenured coach in WB's history!
Again, at any point did I bash this coach? I don't think so. I was simply comparing the first year under a new HC, to previous HC's. Don't mistake my passion for my school as being hateful towards a person, or coach. Not my intent. Just simply saying that if something doesn't turn around, in a year or two, he may be coaching somewhere else. Maybe I'm wrong for expecting too much.
You better get things together, and put a much improved team on the field next year, Coach Flanagan, or you will be shortest tenured coach in WB's history! sounds like a threat to me.... lets see if I can find some other posts of yours that shows your negativity.. " Congratulations on a fine, first season Coach. You have successfully done what no other coach in WB history has done....finished his first season with an embarrassing losing record" "WB couldn't beat its way out of a wet paper sack. This is embarrassing, and unacceptable Nice, but ugly win. It's a shame.....no playoffs for WB, this year. First time since 2004, for the Bruins. Thank the Lord this debacle of a season is over!" One thing you are forgetting about the other coaches you mentioned in your post, Durley, Leo Nolan, Jerry Henschel and Al Rabb.  They did not have Ozen pulling some of their athletic kids to another school. That has made a impact on WB football. I for one am proud of Flanigan for doing as well as he did in his first season. 3 returing starters, new QB with new system.  that is tough on any program to be sucessful.  I know some of the coaches that left WB last year and they all said the same thing..... Talent is not there for a while.. the next batch of tallent is in their freshman core.. this statement is coming from your EX coaches....  It was one of the main reasons why they left... as for you jumping back on the "band wagon",  you as a "true Bruin" should have never got off!!!! As for difference in 3A, 4A and 5A.... football is footbal.,  its tackling, blocking, passing and catching...  Alverez has proved that... went from 2A to 4A and is successful....  there is almost as many D1 kids in 4A as 5A.
 23.

Well i tried to look it up and it said stump was the coach in 2004, if thats wrong then my bad. I just hate when people try to sit backand act like they know football because they have ESPN and make comments as if coaches will start trying harder because you called them out on this board. Stump was a phenominal coach, and the Bruins were 5-5 last year and lost a kid that went to UT and some other small D2/D3 and JUCO college players. This year they went 4-6, you say that is not what you are used to in a 1st year, but you just went 5-5 in Coach stumps 7th year and he did an amazing job. He probably left for a reason. It's an extremely tough district and in a years time the bruins will most likely be better than they are now.
Just another bit of information that is wrong, from you. WB did not go 5-5, last year, they were 6-4, in the regular season, and lost to Deer Park 31-30, in the Bi-District round. DO NOT try to squabble with me about stats, and the history of WB football. While there are folks on this board that I don't always see eye to eye with, most will tell you I know what I'm talking about. And yes, Stump's first year was 2005. You, and MAX Preps, are both wrong. 2004 was Al Rabb's last year, where yes, they finished 2-8. For the record, this is not Stump's team. This is Flanagan's team. There were only 3 returning starters from last year's squad. And we are not happy with 4-6. We DO expect better of our team. You, should do a better job of checking stats before you get on here and call people out that have been here a LOOOOng time....through thick and thin!
You sir should be ashamed of yourself.  You call yourself a supporter of WB yet all you do is verbally elaborate nothing but negativity. Think of the impression you are leaving your community about your towns athletic program. How can any coach feel welcome. I would think a "Donating Moderator Senior" would not come on a site and bash a coach of good integrity...  Especially knowing the facts which you yourself stated. "only 3 returning starters" "6-4 record of last year".  I don't know the JV's record last year but I am willing to bet they were not dominate.  So look at the facts, Flanigan took over a program that was 1 loss from being .500 and then you graduated 18 starters that were 6-5 and tried to win teaching 18 starters a new system.  That is tough for any coach.  I can name many coaches in the area that are considered great coaches but had trouble their first year at a new school.  Look at Jack Alverez. 4-6 first year at Ennis,  9-2 this year.  Flanigan did the same at Orangefield and Crosby.  Flanigan is a outstanding coach which has turned teams around.  Give the man time and TRY to be supportive of your teams coach.  You WILL be surprised of the attitudes and success your school will have.
 24. Crosby just put up a new score board and big screen... was fully operational last week... there are some plans in the making that would make the vistors side bigger with press box(would be the home side) and leaving the present home side the visitors side.. also puting parking where the baseball fields are now and buliding a baseball/softball complex....and a  new high school behind walmart... all depends on bond in may..
