No... more like 4 of 11-13. We have 9 teams in 19-4A. Some catchers pitch so another one has to step in.... one made D player of the year. the two first team had a tie on the vote... their for they both get the award... and one second team
 2.
So Hitman is that official? I have seen his name get thrown around for every job thats come open the past few years, he is the new Toby Foreman.
nothing is offical until they announce it... JMO... It just makes since.... Was the AD at Lumberton before and was succesful (most of the kids he coached are now 37-43, most have or will have kids in high school, I think they will push for him) Knows the Area Has been Successful at a couple of schools He is looking for a job and... has been reported to be on Campus... I really think he gets the job
 3. Did any of ya'll watch the video??  He is smoking weed throughout the whole video.  Why is that not being mentioned?? The crazy part is he has not been arrested for position of a illegal substance... the proof is in the video.. That’s ok though... like his rap... he can serve my hamburgers with no pickles "for life", "for life", "for life"..... What an idiot!!!!
 4.
Correct me if I'm wrong. Saturday is the last day of the week. There is a limit on total games a player can play throughout the season. That total is based upon how many tournaments the player is active in as well.
last day of the week is friday when school is released.  A student does only have a limited number of games he can play throughout the season... and can play only one game during the school week (monday-friday ending after school is released) unless it is a make up game or for tournament.....  so he could play one game tuesday but play both JV/Varsity on Friday or Saterday
 5. This is a great series... gonna be fun to watch this one today.. as for last night.. here is what I saw and really I do not show any bias... no dog in this hunt UMP was bad BOTH ways... I do think Dayton got more though.. bad calls on strikes all night on both sides...the last 3 calls were very bad. I have never seen a called 3rd strike that hit the ground to end a game that the catcher has to throw to 1st base. Roe should have not been thrown out. (and he is allowed to play today)  he did not try to run over the catcher.. he side stepped, put both arms around chest for protection and NEVER lowered his shoulder a bit..  Even if he had slid feet first it would have looked smallish because he was waiting so long.  In fact the Cather for Nederland should have been thrown out twice... YOU CANT STAND IN BASE LINE UNTIL YOU HAVE THE BALL.. new rule that was put in a couple of years ago..... never the less.. no harm no foul. However ump did not give up 9 hits in first three inn..  I thought Nederland played better and they won.. Again cant wait to see the end of this one... good luck both teams..
 6. So what yall are saying is yall are band wagon guys... If he does well you jump support him or if he fails this year you bash him... What ever happen to support the program/coach FIRST not he has to "PROVE HIMSELF FIRST"??.. He has been coaching for many years... He has already PROVED himself.... Turned Orangfield into a playoff team and Crosby... Yet you still dought him... WOW!!! What message are you sending the kids of your community (apples don't fall far from the tree)?? This is a growing problem I see in todays youth.... that "A person must prove himself to gain my respect".  That is why kids today argue with coaches/teachers/adults and are quick to make excesses when failure arises.  "Its not my fault, its someone else" Here is an idea...try support your program... says positive things... support your coach publicly... THIS WILL BREAD SUCCESS.. Dont bail on the first little thing that YOU think is wrong.. KIDS HEAR AND LISTEN TO WHAT YOU SAY the most influential person in a kids life is his/her parents. How you react is how they will.

I'm certain there is much talent at WB, I'm just not confident that Flanigan can utilize it on the level required to win in this district.  I believe that they will have a better record than last year, but not a record that will get them in the playoffs.  Also, following the turn around that WB saw under Stump and theor ability to keep winning, the expectations are much higher at this stage.  A winning season is not enough because prior to Flanigan coming on board the program was a winning, playoff bound team.  Just my opinion, but I don't think that he will be able beat Memorial, North Shore, Deer Park, or Laporte this year.  As a graduate of WB I hope that he does, but I am less than confident that they are ready to compete on a playoff level yet.
WB won district ONE time under Coach Stump. There was no big four when Stump coached the Bruins. It was a six team district including Channelview and Baytown Sterling. It was pretty much a given they would get in the playoffs. It is a much tougher district now. I don't believe anyone is saying the Bruins will win district but, they will be talented enough to make the playoffs. I think they knock off one of the playoff teams from last year and get in. I know of a few baseball guys that played MLB from HJ.
Ben Broussard, who grew up in Beaumont, but moved HJ in HS plays for MLB Indians or did. I guess he's still playing.
Ben played for McNeece(3 time hitting champ) then drafted by the reds also played for the Indians, Seatle, Rangers, and then was traded to the NYY.  He played AAA for  the Yanks then quit.  I heard he is tring to get back into it again. Also Tyson Young was drafted out of High School from HJ. Some others that I know that played college ball. Basketball Lamanack, Neil - cant remember where Spears, Kenyon - Lamar Baseball there was one big one that graduated in late 90's that played for the reds. cant remember name McKeller, Laine - McNeece Erickson, Tim - Lamar I think Vaglika, Matt - Angelina McKeller, Pat - New Mexico, Angelina Robuck - Lamar another pitcher that was on the 07 team to Lamar. cant remember his name Duplant this year already commited

 10. can a starting player (fielder not batting/being DH for) be a  runner for the Catcher or Pitcher?  What happens if the player is pulled?  can he run then?
 11.
I would like to see somebody research the top 10 era, k's, wins  in the area so far this season  and  be sure and include what grade level they are in.  I see some info. from fairly far away. I am talking the Golden Triangle area. I try and read Max Preps but some  area coaches will not input their stats to that Website.  I can probably name several. White-Lumb-11th., Guidry-BC-12th, Franklin-Kountze-10th, Marshall-Kountze-10th, A.Anderson-WOS-10th, G. Anderson-WOS-10th, Shugart-BC-10th, Howard -PAM-10th,. Anyhow I obviously do not know all the top Pitchers but someone out there does.
according to max preps Davenport is 14 in nation in K's, number 1 in 4A. The kid last year had 89 k's in district alone. 120 for the year
District 19-4A has 9 teams in it.  Makes a team have 2 bye in district which wipes out a whole week.  To prevent this and keep tourn games, the district has some weeks in which they play 3 (Tues, Fri, Sat) games a week instead of 2.
 14. Tyler Davenport - Crosby- 48 K's already in 26 inn. against top teams. Santa Fe - 6 K Babers Hill - 11 K Dayton - 13 K 2 inn agaist Magnolia West - 4 K Summer Creek - 14 K I cant wait to see him develop at Texas State
 15. Crosby goes 4-0 in this tournament.  With wins over Magnolia West, Aldine, and Baytown lee and Splendoria. You are not kidding about Tomball.  I watched them play Deer Park. They looked like a college team taking the field.
 16.
Your facts are flat out wrong about Breithaupt and what he did.  My brother in law played for him the entire time he was there.  I was in school during that time as well.  The above posted is EXACTLY correct.  Breithaupt was NEVER the assistant principal BUT was the principal during the 91-92 school year.  He left after that year to the UIL.  During the 91-92 school year Vaughan was the AD and Breithaupt was the hd basketball/principal.  Breithaupt NEVER worked at HJ in ANY capacity where he was not the basketball coach except in the late 70's when he was Jimmy Burke's assistant coach. As for losing good football coaches, Huckabay left on his own accord BUT, in his last two years HJ was fielding teams with 17 players on the varsity.  Fischer was at HJ from 1996-1997 school year through the 2004-2005 school year.  That is almost ten years as the coach.  I'm not sure where you got three coaches in 7 years.  HJ hasa had TWO football coaches in the last 17 years. You have a right to your opinion BUT, your facts about when other coaches were here and when they left are dead wrong.  I can assure you of that.
My facts are not messed up. We were talking about the 90's coaches. Remember I went to school there.  I Played for Breithaupt and Sutherland. Also played for WEB, your other Head Football/Baseball Coach that you did not count (89-92), Huckabay(92-96), and Fisher(my brothers played for him).  Breithaupt took over the Assistant principal job/responsiblities in 91 like I said when our Assistant Principal (Mr. Dixon) Shot our Superintendant (MR. HILL). I know he was the Assistant Principal because I got in trouble that year and was suspended BY HIM!! Sat in his office and got dog cussed for doing something stupid!!  If you look at his years of Service at UIL it will tell you the same thing.
 17.
Breithtaupt was brought in as AD/hd basketball at the 89-90 school year and remained in that capacity through the 90-91 school year, those two years HJ was 8-2 and 7-3 in football.  In the 91-92 school year Breithaupt became the principal/hd basketball and Bruce Vaughan became the athletic director and was already girls basketball coach.  Breithaupt left for the UIL after the 91-92 school year.  Vaughan remained on staff as the AD/girls bball coach until the 97-98 school year and that is when Pat Fischer was brought in.  That was also the same year HJ went to 4A for two years with the smallets enrollment in the state for 4A at that time.  It was Fischer who lead them through 4A before dropping back down and then having the best run of football seasons that HJ has had including a state quarterfinal berth.  HJ's enrollment was at an all time high during Fischer's first 5 years or so and then enrollment began to decline and has ever since until the last few years when HJ went to open enrollment.  That has helped bump enrollment back up.
I attened HJ from 89-93. I was always under the influence that Vaughn was the AD.  He was always in the boys off season programs watching.  Breithaupt always stayed with basketball. He never showed his face in the off season. Brithaupt was assistant principal. Did not coach basketball in 93. Brithaupt did not go to UIL until March of 95. Regardless... HJ was not able to hold on to these good football coaches... Web, Huckaby and Fisher. It is not good for a football program to have 3 different head coaches in 7 years. I know Sutherland... he is a great coach.. In fact I heard him speak when I was in college.. He started as a football coach.. I know he would do a great job... I am just saying that HJ will not have any stability in the football program unless they get a AD/football coach.
 18.

Lazeek, every time you post something, it proves my theory... You guys are actually good with the thought that our basketball coach should be the AD... I believe that would hurt our football program because now your not going to get a quality coach... AD's are traditionally football coaches and they want that title... Just tired of the blatant lie that some sports are treated better than others because it just simply isn't true. Then why would we ever consider giving our AD title to our basketball coach when we live in a state where FOOTBALL is king? Because basketball is the only sport that matters at HJ...
Go look at HJ's football past.  Some of their most successful years were when Breithaupt was the AD/Basketball coach and when Bruce Vaughan was the AD/girls basketball coach.  I know for the two years that Breithaupt was the AD the football team went 7-3 and 8-2.  I am not pushing for the basketball coach or for anyone else for that matter.  I am saying that you don't have to have a football/AD in order for football to be successful.
I was a part of these seasons along with the 7-2-1 in 93.  Breithaupt was NOT the AD during these times. In fact I don't know if Breithaupt was even a AD there.  I know he was a assistant principal after the tragic shooting by our assistant principal.  He may have taken Vaughn's place in the late 90's in which the football program slipped again after going to 4A for a couple of years.  You are right about Vaughn being AD during the early 90's. But the real question is why they were not able to obtain these coaches like Coach Web and Coach Huckabay.  They wanted the AD title.  They believed that the best interests were not being represented.  That is why they did not stay long. As long as the AD is in the Basketball hands, HJ will be a jumping ground for ANY coach that comes in.
 19. LAZEEK, Many of job descriptions and problems that a AD runs into is during Basketball season.  Football is a fall sport that is early. IMO an AD needs to be a football guy... If you have not found out already football rules in TEXAS.. Most ADs, espically at small schools (one school 4A districts, 3A, 2A, 1A), are all football Coaches.  I dont think it is a good idea to hire a basketball AD.  Right now the HJ community is not complaining about basketball.  It is the rest of the sports that are struggling.
 20.

I REALLY don't want this to get out of hand... all treads on this have been locked. I don't want any wise cracks at the parents, kids, or present/former staff.  I graduated from HJ in early 90's, when I all programs were good... I don't live in the area anymore and I am very interested on what is going in my former area...Once a HAWK always a HAWK..  I would love to hear what the "word on the street" is... What have you heard??? when will they make a move??? What you got?? Here is what I have heard... please correct me if you heard different..... Last I heard is they might offer Sutherland the AD/Job.. I believe he was promised the job before he signed BACK on at HJ... I love the man, but IMO...... I just don't know if he wants it or if it is best for ALL programs... An AD has lots to deal with instead of just concentrating on just basketball.. I could see more than one parent from the football program complaining that the "athletic kids" are "pushed to play basketball only"... Its already happening(people saying the athletic kids only play basketball) and he is not the AD.... I know Sutherland... He was my former coach in football and basketball... I KNOW he would not do that.. but... I really believe the WHOLE athletic program would do better if they hired a football AD... Someone that is new.. not a current head coach just wanting to settle, because really that is what you are going to get right now... Someone REALLY hungry....someone wanting to make ALL programs better... not just basketball and golf.... someone ready to bring in coaches and shake things up.. these are usually 4A, 5A Offense/Defense coordinators.. Someone that is not afraid to step on some toes.. again JMO SO.... Please no wise cracks... I just what to know what have you heard... What is your opinion(no parent/kid cracks) on the future success of the HJ Athletic Program!!  I would love to hear what you think but in a educated manor... Go Hawks!!
What is the difference between a basketball coach being AD and a football coach being AD?  Does a football coach care more for the overall program than the basketball coach?  Not trying to stir it up but, just asking an honest question based on what you posted.  Funny that you say that the better athletes are pushed to play basketball only because the HJ basketball program saw between 8-12 kids not play this year that played last year and several were going to be contributors on the varsity team.  They all had the same reason for not playing:  to get ready for football next year.  I don't think it matters what sport you coach, that has no bearing on your care for the overall athletic program.  By the sound of your post perhaps schools should make the AD positions split from coaching positions.
Honestly I believe the best person to be AD of a high school is someone not coaching any sport.  He is just the Athletic Director.. That way he can concentrate on all programs. As for a basketball coach being AD, basketball is in mid-season sport.  Usually preparations and problems start stirring up around that time.  Orders for next year, budget crunches, coaching assignments, off season programs, UIL, ect.. All come during this time. I am sure that during that time he wants to concentrate on JUST basketball and not have to deal with the added stress and deal with the community during that time not to mention the after hour responsibilities and what is going on during football.. last 2 weeks of football and playoffs are when basketball starts..  Most football coaches want the AD job.  Most will not even apply if the AD job is not included... As for the athletes.. bosha is very athletic.. you cant tell me he would not help the football program..
 21. If i remember right Pool 1 Huffman 3-0 Dayton 2-1 Ozen 1-2 Davis 0-3 Pool 2 Houston Christian 3-0 Crosby 2-1 Caney Creek 1-2 Nimitz 0-3 Huffman vs Houston Christian for championship!! dont know how that turned out though..
