Whats up with PA putting up 18 an 19 runs against Central and Ozen? I hear they have some pitching and can hit the ball a little.

know the facts before you post. I believe Kirbyville whipped Kountze in their tournament last year in the finals and this is a total different team this year. Maybe not different personal but pitching, batting, and fielding is tons of better. they scrimaged last week and the top 3 pitchers did not even give up a hit against Kountze and batted .310 as a team, and that was their worst team average so far. LOOK OUT, KVILLE BASEBALL IS BACK!!!!!!!

The 2008 southeast texas team missed the best outfielder. musgrove from Kirbyville, batted .526 last year in one of the best 3A's in the state. How do you make all-state in baseball (which is based on stats) and not make the 2008 southeast texas team?????

Stats do not indicate winner. If it did, Rhodes from Kirbyville was robbed last year. 2200+yards rushing, 400+yards rec. 20+ TD, started on both sides of the ball and most of these numbers were with him only playing 3 quarters a game. Insted it went to a Lumberton kid because they had gone futher than they have ever gone..... Not to take away anything from Lumberton...Great Season...But it should go to the Kirbyville boys. They went further than any team in this area and these boys the most for their team on both sides of the ball.

Yes you were in a half court man, but were still traping the corner when you could have backed into a 2-3 in the paint. That is your game. I am not really complaining. I know you could have put up 100 and I comend you for not doing that. The fact is kirbyville is just not as good. All of the JV are freshman, we don't have a freshman team. When you play 2A that is what you have to deal with. We don't have a little dribblers program that is worth a flip either.

What is your point? I know tougher non-district oppents make you better. It doesn't take a genies to figure that one out. FACT!! I was pointing out that their is a big difference between 3A and 2A.FACT!! Buna would get whipped in 3A.FACT!! But if you think Kirbyville is going to be a push over, then you got another thing coming.FACT!!

there you go, defending yourself. there is a difference between a 2-3 and 1/2 court trap. a 2-3 is a zone defense, a trap is to cause a turnover quick and score quick. It was apparent that the girls could not dribble well and yet they still did it when up 40 points and the other team had not even put one point on the board. And don't say you didn't complain last year when Kirbyville put 63 on you. I heard it on all over the place. In fact, I remember talking with some HJ fans and questioned them when the BB girls had their starters in in the 4th last year and was up by 35 and their reply was "remember that football game"

you are right they did not full court press but HJ still 1/2 court tr aped the rest game. They could have backed into a 2-3 but didn't. I understand why they did it, its their game!! I just think it is funny when the HJ fans complain and moan when Kirbyville puts 63 in football!!! (their running the score up, their classless!!!) As of running the score up the worst won I can remember Charles Brighupt!!! scoring almost 170 points against west Hardin...come on...they had 98 at half.... then decided to take it easy on them and back off into a 1/2 court press!!! A 1/2 court press!!!! not a 2-3.

I feel the same way. Starts have to play atleast 3 periods of the game. then when you put in 2nd and 3rd string and still beat them you can't help it. you can't tell the kids to play lightly. JUST REMEMBER THESE FACTS WHEN OTHER FOOTBALL TEAMS PUT 60 UP ON YOUR SCORE BOARD!!

Buna playing in round rock in 08 = confidence. 3 years ago...Hardin Jefferson had a pretty dang good baseball team, kirbyville doesn't when Buna was playing in 3a before they dropped..they werent that good. Now, they are. they have a totally different team with totally different players. dont forget they beat 3 teams in your district last year. I wish kirbyville good luck next year...but just because you drop down doesn't mean you'll win it all. HJ finished in a tie for 3rd that year with Silsbee. And last year Buna only beat 2 3a teams in that district, barley beat Silsbee (4 -3) and HF (3-2). what did they finish in that district?? 4th and 5th. You did play HJ lost (6 - 1) and Jasper 2 times and lost both, (8 -0) and (4-0), what did Jasper finish that district? 3rd This just shows the difference between 2A and 3A when a state 2a team can't put a run up on a third place 3a team.

Buna also went to state in 3A, and competed almost every year. We had a few bad years once teams like Jasper started falling to 3A. yah in what 91. What happened to them when teams like Bridge City, Silsbee, Jasper Dropped down from 4A to 3A?? GOT WHIPPED!!! There is a big difference between 3a and 2a. I don't think Buna would have made playoffs in that 3a district. HJ, Jasper, BC and Silsbee would have beat them. But in 2A you go to Little Rock!! Big difference!! Not to take anything away from your team or coaches, You have a great team, just don't underestimate those cats!!

I think Buna is a little to confident, just like their football team. to much can happen in baseball. When Jasper won state 3 years ago, I remember HJ going into Bulldog stadium and putting a whippin on those dawgs!! Does that mean HJ had a better team that year??? NO!!! As for Kirbyville they have talent to compeat in 2A. Buna was getting whipped in 3A before they dropped, so what to you think will happen to Kirbyville since they dropped down. I expect the same!!!

have not seen Kountze play but based on what they did to Nederland, I think I would have them higher. Kirbyville has a good team as well. Beat Jasper and I think they would beat hampsire and Lumberton as well. Nederland should be higher than both of these teams. Just guessing on what I have seen so far. Woodville is 2A

totally agree. Hope he can add on to that .526 batting average from last year in 3A. Ask Jasper how tough he is to get out. Man can he run down a ball or what!!!

there is a lot of smack talking on smoaky.com. saying were overrated, were to slow, our offense is predictable, there D is to good, were hot tempered and can't stand adversity, our coaches are classless. I can't wait till friday!! Pratice hard men and lets take the wood to them!!!!!!

Kville is not a baseball school?? yes they have a traditon of winning on the football field but people are missing the whole point here. times change. I can remember beating the snot out of Kirbyville in football when i was in school. That would not be the case now. The big factor is Kirbyville dropping down to 2A. There is a big difference between 3a and 2a. Last year Kville entered a 2a tournament in Kountze and won it then prcieded to win only one game in district. Kville returns 7 starters including a all-state plalyer so they will be competitive. they will give buna a run for their money!!!!

Lumberton does in fact, have the lowest paid teachers in the area. However, I don't think that's enough information for any of us to speculate on how much Credeur is paid. There's a lot more to job satisfaction than money, but I guess some people haven't figured that out. Lumberton may have the lowest paid teachers in their district but not in this area..Buna, Kirbyville, Warren, ect., have way lower district pay scales. As for job satisfaction over money, money usually wins. Why does Lumberton have such a high turnover in teachers???? Money!!!!

I thought Larry Haynes changed the program around in late 80's and early 90's. then left for more money near Fort Worth..what happened to the program after that. the bottom line for a coach is money talks and bull@!#% walks. LEARN FROM HISTORY AND PAY HIM!!!

Look for Kirbyville to make a run this year in 2A. 7 return starts including Randy Musgrove 3rd team all-state in 3A, and tons of sophmore talent coming.....GO WILDCATS :) :)

Alvarez is classless in his running up the score, but he wins. are you kidding me? running up the score? thats why we ran the ball the whole fourth quarter. and we even had our jv o-line with all back up backs and ur saying we ran up the score. if u werent at the game u just need to keep ur mouth closed. plus they deserved to have that many points scored on them after running to the center of our field before the game on our homecoming...thats classless. Hmmm I remember someone doing the same thing at jasper couple of years ago. to include sliding on the midfield logo. so you say thats classless? I believe that incident happened after the game not in front of thousands of fans. not to say we did not act childish. and they were punished for that.
