  1. It will all make sense to you sooner or later.
  2. Nancy Pelosi, Mike Pense, Jerry Brown, Santorum, Keyes, Jindal et al, they are all on the same team, you just don't know it yet. Watch the CNN special sunday night the 11th at 9pm, that is more or less announcing the president of the world, aka the anti christ.
  3. The big guy for Somerset had some good blocks. Kaay Barnes blocked one or two or two of his shots as well, and even beat him on the tip off. Amazing! I don't know why I was so concerned with somerset before the game, other than you have to respect everyone at this time of the season. Anyway, that's over with. Good season Somerset.
  4. My bruh n law is a Carter alum. He loves to play pick up basketball, but he never talks about Carter. This came as a surprise to him & everybody. But it is here and it is real. When Lincoln beat Duncanville by 11 I think, the same Duncanville that put up a 30 piece on the Silsbee Tigers, I thought for sure it would be Lincoln coming out of reg 2. During the season Carter was making noise, but I was waiting to see what they would do with Lincoln. Sure enough Lincoln won, then beat them again in district. But it is hard to be a good team three times in a season. Silsbee is playing good ball right now. It should be a good game.
  5. If you're got your heart set on finding that racist then I guess you will find it so.
  6. They probably play Dixie at some Nascar events. And if they don't they should. It would be a great marketing tool.
  7. That song been around since 1900. I hear and sing it mostly at church. I love that song. If we went around quoting some crazy rap lyrics you would be yapping about that. As the saying goes do what you feel is best in your heart, because somebody, somewhere is always going to be critical of whatever you do. Some time waster on some back water msg board will not approve, but who cares? SMH you guys are a mess.
  8. What limited video I've seen they like to play half court. They work the ball around & try to get it in to the big guy, or an open three by that forward, or someone else. Makes sense to me. I'm sure the Tigers will be watching the passing lanes.
  9. I was concerned about playing Yates. i am glad the game broke like it did. I think this game against Somerset will be interesting, but you never know. My bruh in law is a Dallas Carter alum. He didn't even know they were in the playoffs. D Lincoln is usually the basketball power in that district, 10 4A region II I think. they were talking about going the the games in SA but he is driving down to Beaumont to pick his his daughter for spring break. She's a freshman at Lamar U. They call Beaumont a lil country town. Here lately they spend more time in Beaumont than I do.
  10. That 6'10" guy is 185 lbs. They have a 6'2" guy who supposedly has good handles. Slowing him down in crucial IMO. If he is allowed to casually come down court & feed that big guy down low, they will score a lot of points that way. Maybe the refs put some folks in foul trouble. It could get ugly. Somerset also has a big, strong four who can shoot from outside. JImThorpe is right. Silsbee is weak in the middle. K Barnes can really get up, but you can only count on that so much. If #23, Mitch, had any kind of post up game, Yates could of slowed it down and made it very interesting. They didn't and that's history. The big guy for Somerset has post up moves and a jumper from outside. I'll let coach Sigler worry about all that. I am sure he is working on something.
  11. The official title of the son is Life Every Voice and Sing. Someone came along and gave it the sub title The Negro National Anthem. To me it is just a positive, uplifting song. I don't feel any less american after I've heard it sung. As for the song being sung at NBA game, probably at the all star game, I didn't know about that. I can't remember the last time I actually watched the NBA all star game.
  12. Somerset has a 6'2" pg with good handles, Isaiah Rivera. He didn't play last year against Brazosport because he had a broken leg. If he had played it might of made a big difference. Him, that 6'10" center and that 6'5" forward. Those are the ones Silsbee has to lookout for.
  13. What 'work' are you talking about? If I took the time to sample your posts would it show?
  14. I never heard of Somerset until they upset Brazosport. I don't think anyone was paying much attention to them, up until now. As much as I can tell from looking around on the internet that's a dangerous team. They got a 6'10" post who is good at close range. He can also hit from outside. They have a 6'1 pg, Isaiah Rivera, who has decent handles. Not sure how good he can shoot. Then they got a 6'4 forward, who i think is also their football QB. Silsbee will probably have to pressure their guards but not get in foul trouble. Hopefully the refs won't call it too tight. Try to get them to run. Are they (somerset) as good as Argyle at slowing it down? I doubt it. But then Argyle didn't have a 6'10" center.
  15. SportsJunkie is cool. Bayou City 713 is too, but he knows how to work a nerve, lol. Two places I know well are Silsbee & Houston. I understand the culture as do a lot of people. It all makes it interesting.
  16. As I've mentioned I watched Yates play Houston Christian at a tournament back in December. HC won by 9 or 10 pts. Three things I noticed during that game. Mitch, # 23?, kept going for the sensational play, the sensational dunk. He is 6'7" and very athletic, but in the course of a good game a player like that has to stay in flow of the game and if a good dunk or block comes his way then make it happen. I also noticed he did not have a go to move that could be relied on to score points, other than the dunk. Mind you, I'm no expert. I also noticed that Yates pressed and had a deep bench. Sahvir Wheeler and Miller Koop exploited that defense for quite a few back door points. Coach Wise was substittuting at will. He had like 17 players on the team. The refs were letting them play and i posted here, it's in the archives, that HC pg Sahvir Wheeler was getting mugged. I made a mental note to myself that the refs in the playoffs would probably call a tighter game, and in this game played today, the refs did call it closer. It made a big difference. They called the other game between Cy Falls and SA Wagner the same way. I thought for a moment or two a fight was going to break out in that particular game. Just the same, I tip my hat to all the Yates team, and to Coach Wise. Respect.
