Silsbee vs one of the district 23 4A teams should draw a stream. silsbee vs Livingston? Apparently no.

That key player missing was a major reason they got upset.

Is this an ongoing trend? Last season (or the season before) HJ lost a key player due to a non injury incident.

None of the players on that team come from Independence Heights, or Studewood, the area around BT Washington. At least none of the players that matter. Kenneth Lewis transferred in from CE King. Their best guard came from Humble. McDermott from Heights aka Reagan. That team is basically a Greater Houston all star team. But the UIL lets it slide. I wish I knew what really happened at Westfield.

That is not a new innovation. That is trash. That's why it went viral. it makes the team look bad, lowers morale among the players. Nobody wants to duck into a huddle and appear scared.

I've never seen five guys in a huddle and calling it a stall.

About a week or so ago, on twitter with video, or on YouTube with comments, they were showing this guard for Westfield, Zion something. He put in a game winning put back dunk. Others said it was a game winning shot. Perhaps there were two different games Anyway, the anonymous commentators, Westfield fans, said he was with the right team instead of with WC. Ion know who WC is. Westbury Christian? I dunno. Maybe that is relevant info, maybe not.

There is the internet and cameras everywhere. That technology factors into everything. What once was local backwoods stuff can go International in seconds. Perception is reality. Somebody out there puts the wrong spin on this incident and...reputations can be ruined, to say the least.

Speaking of Washington, they're saying Kenneth Lewis transferred there from CE King..

I've been in & around Houston for 66 years. I went to Lamar Fleming middle school one year. I heard too many horror stories about EO Smith. I would of stay at the old Silsbee Jr High than go to EO Smith. I don't know much about the new charter schools although I was a big fan of US Rep Mickey Leland; cried like a baby when he died. I don't need no play of movie by a CME pastor to tell me the educated have been leaving places like 5th ward. I lived it.

Silsbee will stall a little at the end of a tight game and they have the lead. So they are not totally oblivious to the concept.

Speaking of Crosby, Ricky Scott posted on FB an old newspaper article from the Beaumont Enterprise. Silsbee had 17 pt lead over Crosby going into the 4th qtr but lost. 3A Playoff game. Leading scorers for Silsbee: Simmons, Dabney, Scott, Jones, and Shankle. I'm not sure who Jones is. That was in 73 or 74.

Washington has a magnet engineering program. There school was recently rebuilt. All that is in their favor. Yates was recently rebuilt. They have their commonications dept. Those other schools? I've never seen Furr up close. All these years and I don't know that area at all. I just know it exists. Worthing, Kashmere? Most of the good students and athletes probably left. Both schools have produced great students and athletes in the past. And that is where they stay, in the past. I know some professionals that came from Kashmere: teachers, preachers, petroleum engineers, computer scientists, etc. I am seeing faces that I know. Mickey Leland? That is a new school. I don't know where it is. What does this have to do with this topic? Everything. The schools with something going for them may have a vibrant athletic program. The schools that are struggling are just marking time athletically.

Silsbee has to hit FTs, eliminate errors, block out. Lewis likes to sneak in from the outside. Block out McDermott as well.

Next stream game WOS?

Those seasons when Silsbee is favored to win district I used to snooze until the playoffs. Video streamed games keeps me interested.

Can't think of his name. Is big guy from Silsbee still an asst. coach with LCM?

Silsbee beat WOS so they should beat LCM. How is that?

OF beat LCM. Silsbee beat Orange Field quite handily. If you go by that this should be a relatively easy game for the Tigers. You can't just go by that type of logic though. Silsbee had a good outside shooting game against Lumberton. As a result I knew they should probably shoot more from the outside against WOS and thet would probably backfire. I don't know for sure cause I didn't see or hear the game. That shouldn't be a problem tonight. I'm looking forward to seeing the game tonight.

Carter tends to stumble down the back stretch.

If the game takes place as has been mentioned Silsbee's best and maybe only chance is to force turn overs from Washington's guards. BT probably will run. Running is in their b ball DNA. HISD / Houston area 4A schools have watched Yates run amok for years and they want to run too. They prolly have some half court sets featuring Lewis' shooting. All this is down the road, maybe six weeks away. The focus now is district & LC-M.

Everybody mentions BT Washington's McDermott, but their other post Lewis is their best and their go to player.

I had a feeling district play would be harder than many people thought it would be. Will Silsbee lose a district game? It is possible but I hope not. It will be interesting to see if other district teams use the same tactics WOS used. Maybe they can't because they don't have the same size front court. The next WOS game, in Silsbee, will be very interesting. It will be on YouTube. Nice.
