Dang I wish that ref would have not said it hit the HJ player and I wish the HJ player would have return the punt for a 90 yard td.  Then the final score would have been WO-S 35 HJ 28

So is that the precise moment when HJ lost all of their mojo or whatever?

What kept HJ from doing that the rest of the game? Too many WO-S penalties?

That's just the thing. Most posts that I've seen from HJ fans include some kind of disclaimer or qualifying phrase. "It didn't cost the game, but it did have a major impact..."

What does that even mean? What's a major impact in a game where one team had a late 4-TD lead over another? How many TD's is a major impact worth? Because WO-S had some to spare.

Save me all of the "if this... then this" or "maybe, coulda, woulda, shouldas"

But "MAYBE" it's comfort after a game HJ thought it "COULD" win, but got handled instead.

You speak of these playoff refs like HJ fans know what you are talking about.  Remember they are fairly new to the playoffs.  As mentioned above, they are so disciplined (more so than WOS according to some) and flawless in regards to penalties, that for the first time ever a team will be awarded negative penalties for positive yards, thus adding another dimension to their game in the playoffs.

If WOS gets flagged 15 times in this one, I'll be on the conspiracy theory bandwagon myself lol :)

You always respond with something negative toward an WOS player that you saw! I'm so happy this game is over! You guys did just as much and some of your very own friends admit there were several late hits that werenot called as well as others! Then you say your players are more disciplined but yet the video shows otherwise! You just didn't get caught! Whatever dude it is what it is! See yall next year and once again we win district in spite of how many penalties we commit or how unsportsmanlike we are and HJ players are angels! Kiss my arse!

Hello, I'm a Hawk fan... We got called for 4 penalties and a punt that hit a player, but none of those 4 and the punt were justified... There was no player within 5 yards of the punt and the late hit out of bounds, which was on the opposite side of the field from us, was a good hit... I don't remember what the other 3 calls were for but I'm sure we didn't do it. However, I saw every single one of the 14 penalties called on the WOS players and they were all obvious... I saw everyone of them from my seat 40 rows up. You see, not only are we Hawk fans, but we also have Hawk eyes. So we can easily see and determine from the bleachers that your teams calls were obvious but ours were bogus... :)

it is real nice to know that this district can represent from top to bottom -- OF, HF, HJ and WOS -- have very competitive programs now - well coached and great athletes -- becoming more and more competitive each year -- hope they all continue to roll in playoffs -- Lamarque gona have their hands full no matter who comes out for them

I would like for you to obviously watch the first kickoff on hudl and see the HJ kid spear the WOS player dead in the back but I'm sure you didn't obviously see that though! We may have had obvious penalties and I believe some of them were but damn they sure we're blind to a lot of things that happens to us this year! We get watched under the microscope every week so you guys already know we prepare for it! I remember T telling us in high school you know we're down by 14 when we show up so let's take care of business and play till the whistle blows! We will be fine it's not our first rodeo on games with 3 times as many penalties as our opponent! Imagine how much better we would look as a team if we didn't obviously commit so many penalties! The png game would have been a blowout

Since we're STILL talking about it, if one bad call is going to effect the momentum of your team for the ENTIRE rest of the game, you don't have a good team. Case and point, the officiating was just as bad in the PNG vs. WOS game. We were down 27-13 at half. You already know what the outcome was. Good teams find a way to recover. I would like to believe that the only people holding on to this call are the fans. Because if it's the coaches and players, you won't fare too well in the playoffs.

Oh, it doesn't bother me one way or the other. Obviously you're fascinated, maybe even obsessed with what ifs and maybes. I must admit, it's getting quite interesting to see what kind of spin you guys will continue to put on this ONE call. Who knows? This thread may last for the rest of the year. I would at least like to see that. Can I stay, sir?

It's especially funny when you guys keep going on and on about it as if this thread is going to somehow reverse the outcome of a game that was played two days ago.

I was at the game, had a better view of it than you did (because it was on our side of the field and it was right in front of us) and it looked like it hit him to everyone around us because everyone reacted when it hit him. The ref was right on top of it as well. You stating he was no where near it makes me wonder if you were really there or not. He was the CLOSEST official to the play. And for that matter, how do you know what the ref said??? They stood around and discussed it amongst themselves so you are either regurgitating hearsay, or you are one of the officials. Another thing, DT did not simply touch it and leave the field. He scooped it up and kept looking at one of the officials waiting for a reaction from him BECAUSE HE THOUGHT #1 TOUCHED IT. And lastly... AGAIN... this did not change anything. With the play, right or wrong, you got beat. You got beat at the LOS. Without the play, you get beat at the LOS. As said before, the best thing that could have happened for HJ was those refs. Had they not kept the clamps on the Mustangs the Hawks would've been run out of the stadium. Period.
