Won’t be much job movement now. Few open jobs left to fill.

You go from a 5A-D2 to a 3A-D2? Something seems awful strange. Even with the creation of another school this still seems strange. Has to be more to it.
Place has pretty good playoff history consistently 2-3 deep. Nice little town with hill country charm.
As stated now a multiple high school district And sometimes change is not a bad thing -
Give the guy a chance.

Will go to DEC and UIL will likely go with DEC recommendations.

Not sure if mentioned Center built one a couple years back.

Not an issue at PN-G. Football numbers are always high. This year there will be roughly 75 kids trying out for baseball to fill 3 teams. 9th grade football this year had roughly 80 kids playing.
That’s awesome.
when I first started coaching 30+ years ago now it was not unusual for what would be today’s 4a to run an a,b,c team in jh 7/8 and 3 teams in hs. How many around here run those numbers -
In regards to the hill and 6a it all depends on the numbers. King, NS, Atascocita, and SC will all be at or above 4000 students. How the uil goes about working on this issue means everything to small to midsized 6a schools. Sure there are outliers (desoto for one) just not many. 7a or a divided 6a would be interesting. Numbers do matter

It’s everything mentioned and more. Here’s another one. Kids playing one sport and one sport only year-round. 2 different sports my kid played in youth league, the coaches told me that for him to “move to the next level” he’d have to play/practice/train for that sport year-round. In both instances I told those coaches we couldn’t do that because my son had football. Both told me that they wanted him for their “Competitive” leagues but if he wasn’t ready to commit to year-round and give up football then he’d have to stay in Rec league until he aged out. My son was like 9-10 years old BTW.
There’s kids that get locked into soccer or baseball or whatever at 7/8/9 years old and that’s ALL they play. Coaches/Parents are convinced that’s the way to go which I totally disagree with but whatever. There’s a lot of kids that could be great multi-sport athletes with one of those sports being football but can’t because mom/dad/trainer/coach are convinced that Jr’s only chance at a scholly to a D1 school is playing baseball year-round for the next decade.
Lots of money to be made off of privatized sports.

Are HS sports in decline due to AAU, travel team sports, etc. know it’s a football board primarily just interested in opinions. Article from last spring showed football participation down 14% in last decade.
-
The whole issue revolves around a few things
other coaches actively recruiting/poaching kids from other programs
parents shopping kids
trainers/ aau/ 7 on 7 coaches shopping kids
Sure everyone wants to win and it’s a lot easier to go to currently successful programs than stick it out in a place that is struggling to win.
As Lombardi said. Winning isn’t everything but wanting to is.
Sometimes much more is gained by sticking it out and being part of a team that goes from 0-10 to 8-4.
-
When talking transfer/recruiting snafus don’t leave out San Marcos a few years back. In all honesty most coaches don’t actively look to bring kids in(grow your own and develop them) and some well they will poach anybody’s top end kids to win.
Then there are the AAU/trainers/parents who will shop their kids around looking for whatever.

Easy fix go back to the pre 1981 uil rule on transferring. 1 calendar year from enrollment.
we want to think of moving for athletic purposes is something new. Ope go back and see what schools/communities out in west Texas were doing.
completely understand why guys get frustrated about other schools poaching talent until the uil completely hammers down on it. It will continue to happen history may not repeat but it does rhyme -
Shore got worked. 35-10.
soundly beat with a couple of questionable decisions that didn’t help the cause
-
Why go for it in that situation?
checkers or wreckers at the beginning of the 3rd?
-
The mega school is real 23-6a could have 4 over 4k enrollment. Numbers matter.
-
Shore unless something screwball happens.
Untimely turnovers, penalties, overall bad luck, etc would be the only way NS drops this one
-
Is 6a r3 d2 very good?
Seems that year in year out you have more talent in the d1 route.

I wanna see if it's sustainable. Me thinks CE Kang will put Kingwood back with the rest of the midgets in that district
That’s why 23-6a is deepest district in the state.

Atascocita was much different personnel wise on defense from the beginning of the season. Definitely made a difference as the year went on. That being said I’m not a fan of their defensive scheme. The pseudo Iowa State front has holes and with injuries those holes become caverns.
-
Some spread football teams finding out that their edge defenders don’t like to take on blocks. Not uncommon Atascocita had the same issues bs Fulshear last week

What’s the timeline hire before semester end or extend into January? Coaches still in playoffs or go from a pool whose done?

I know it’s the football board but Humble ISD having K Park, Kingwood, and Atascocita all playing for state titles next week is a quite impressive feat for a multi school district.
