One thing that isn’t getting mentioned enough is the breakdown of BH’s 3rd phase. For a school of that size, and talent base, they have to be able to produce better special teams play. Specifically punting and kickoffs.  Hats off to the QB for pulling double duty as the punter, but that team would have benefited greatly from better punts all night; especially that last one.  The short kickoffs appeared to be done out of necessity, but again, starting at the 35 vs the 20 makes a big difference.  The battle of field position matters in games like this and BH’s special teams execution hurt them at the worst times.

Yes those pooch kicks had a low trajectory that allowed returns a couple that went almost to the house. If pooching it MUST get height to force a fair catch. Championship teams in any sport must do the following 1- Great defense 2- Run a mistake free basic offense 3-Have great SPECIAL TEAMS or plays as they flip fields and change big momentum 👍🏻✝️🐻

  2. Congratulations Crosby but be careful as often times with countless teams in immeasurable playoff seasons a team’s success can become its own worst enemy as players often have disjointed shoulders by patting themselves on the back. A M is a very good team, capable of winning. Their freshmen quarterback will be outstanding in a couple of years but is capable of winning now. Crosby must put constant pressure on him because he is still just 15-16 but maturing with a bullet. Crosby could win by 28 or lose by 7. That win over Barbers Hill was immense for that quarterback and team. Many times it’s beneficial to be the underdog. I am sure the coaches will be preaching humility, preparation and one day at a time in Crosby to fight that naturally occurring ego. Go Crosby.

  3. Congratulations Indians, you are making me regret my last minute decision of not going up the road to Stallworth to see an instant classic. And especially congratulations to Coach Faircloth. No matter where you coach there are critics especially from teams with history, either winning or losing, and their voices are heard on Friday nights, barbershops but now in this other dimension called social media which is powerful (check on the last few elections). Tough staying anywhere more than a few years unless you’re Saban and even he’s getting heat since he hired that former Texans coach to call plays.  What did Bum say about two types of coaches 😟. Live to play another week AND in Louisiana 👍🏻✝️🐻.

  4. Congratulations to the Hill on a great , exciting and successful year. Anytime you lose a close one, especially in playoff rounds, there are going to be decisions made, usually in the 4th, on plays that are questioned. Both teams had them. But as i said last week, the seniors from the Hill will be talking about their upset of FB Marshall at their 30th reunion if not longer, and a few what ifs about tonight. My teammates talk about our playoff loss to state champion Brownwood often, but beating Waco Midway also. Bittersweet . And this may be the tipping point class that sends the Hill to constantly reach multiple rounds  in the playoffs. Great job players, fans and new coaches. 👍🏻✝️🐻

I loved playoff games in the old A-dome. I saw lots of PNG games there, too. Huge crowds, PNG fans always outnumbered the Houston area teams fans. I wonder what will finally become of the dome? Lots of talk but nothing ever happens.

Agree 100 percent. triple headers and even quadruple headers were the best 80-90’s  Watching Odell James and Aldine MacArthur, La Marques state runs ( except the 2 years they beat us there) Vince Young, Ray Seals and Madison, great Katy teams, PNG, Nederland, Westbrook, WOS and Jacksonville— all day great football

14.2, thinking back I remember you said that BH could possibly take out FBM due to the contrasting styles of play. That was a good call. You are one of the most football knowledgeable posters here.

Hey don’t give 14.2 too much praise, don’t need him to get a big head!😊 Not only is he knowledgeable, but was a very, very good high school player. We should have done much better as a team with him his senior year. And he loves getting under your skin.
