Vidor caught lightning in a bottle with English and a great run of athletes. It's unreal to expect a coach to recreate that and this is the second time they've run off a really good coach because of that expectation. I cannot imagine anyone better than Coach Smith who would want that job.

I don't know if TAPPS or Orange Community Christian is the model that should be followed...

I thought I heard Yates was going to IMG next year. If that's the case, they need to work really hard to get that Garrett kid from Marshall.

I thought the unsung coach of the year should be DJ Wilson for the job he did last year getting the Mustangs ready for the future. He really laid the ground work.

MVP should be the best player on the best team and that's Drelon Miller, but him and Harris are close enough to split. The actual most valuable player to his team is Payton Wrinkle at Orangefield. I bet he led them in every category and was best defender and decision maker. It is watered down and I want to say in the old days you could get a superlative and be on 1st or 2nd team. I think these lists would turn out different if they were done by ranking the best players on down.

Silsbee has to be the favorite next year along with Houston Washington. Maybe the next two years.

I heard Coach Greg Wise called Coach Mitchell to get some pointers on how to slow down Silsbee. Nobody would expect Yates to run the turtle-in-the-shell offense!

I started by asking your opinion. I love Catt's game and if I'm drafting a team, he's probably first pick. But if we're talking career, one great year doesn't trump four good ones. Throw some other names out there. You're the Orangefield expert.

Wrinkle is easily best player on current team. The Pete kid is nice in an aau kind of game, but Wrinkle is better at basically every facet of the game...especially if you value players who rebound and play defense. For argument sake, who are your best Orangefield players in the last 10 years?

That's pretty neat, but he's got some work to do. I heard his dad once hit 15 in a game in high school! Wrinkle has really developed into maybe the best Bobcat since Austin Farias way back when. Really good basketball player.
