I believe the district was Vidor, Ozen, Jasper, Livingston, Lumberton, and Silsbee. I remember Nederland facing Ozen a few times in the bi-district round and even faced Vidor twice during the 2000 season, once in non-district and then in the bi-district round at Lamar. I remember that game cause it was wet, misty, and COLD!

Heck, the 2000 season when Mathews made his first playoff game. They went winless in non-district play and only had one loss in district game, and it was against a great Ozen team by one point in triple OT.

I think Vidor dropped from 5A to 4A in 1996 and went 5-5 that year and went 1-9 in '97 and 2-8 in '98. But Neumann could've went atleast 4-5 rounds deep with that Quirante teams, the 2012 year they scored nearly 500 points that year and 384 in 2011, and Vidor had pretty stout defenses both of those years.

I remember those 5A years when my brothers were in school. It was brutal. I remember when Central had Leeland McElroy and ran all over Vidor for 300+ yards at the Babe. One of the first Pirate games I vividly remember, and when West Brook had Chip Ambres and dropped 50 on us. It was brutal being in 5A and probably wouldn't of been no different if Mathews was the coach those years either.

Tough loss, Indians. Y'all definitely surprised me and had a great game plan for FBM tonight and forced them to play y'all's game. Nonetheless, nothing for them boys to hang their heads about.

Alot of clock management and Jenkins really wasn't able to break many long runs against Vidor. I think his longest run against us was about 30 yarder which went for a TD. I know alot of his yards came in the 2nd half, cause he was held to only 50 something in the first half. I can definitely see him getting 200+ if LBJ can't manage the clock and keep him and that offense off the field.
