I am curious why do you think Coach McDaniel is a dang good coach. There was some at Nederland that were not upset that she left.  I am wondering in your opinion what makes her a great coach?  Pretty sure she inherited a JV and freshman team that went undefeated last year which I assume most of those girls have moved up to varsity?

Look what she has done thus far for the PNG program since taking over.  While in Nederland, last year they beat BH.  She pretty much has gone to the playoffs all her years there at Nederland.  I have not heard anything about people not being upset she left. She left for a better opportunity.

There are 8 returning PNG players and 6 of those are Seniors.  Those 6 players have been on Varsity since they were Freshman.  They had to play for Fruge and Box.  Pretty sure they are glad to have Coach McDaniel as their coach after what they did have.

But png has lost to buna twice 🤷🏽‍♂️ why do they deserve the #2 spot? Besides one loss to liberty bunas other losses have been to tough teams in a tough central heights tournament where they got second in the silver bracket.

Now that PNG has played BC and won and got third place in the Gold Bracket in the Dayton Tourney they should at least be ranked Higher than BC. BC has been sitting at the #2 spot the last couple of weeks and has not earned their spot like others have. They have faced any good competition, until Baytown Sterling and teams in the Dayton Tourney.

What teams would you put ahead of Bridge City at this time? It feels like you have some beef with BC for some reason lol. Buna is sitting with 7 losses. 5A PNG has 2 losses to 3A competition. Bridge City is in the very early stages of their schedule with one loss. So I'm really not understanding why a team with one loss in four sets (one being 29-27) is all of sudden not worthy of a top 5 rating for our corner of the state.

Bridge City will face PNG in the Dayton Tournament, so we'll get a look at two of our local teams.

Next week BC travels to Orlando, Florida for the KSA Tournament.

Bridge City has now lost to PNG and Lumberton and took third place in the Silver bracket at Dayton Tournament. I hope you and Nick finally move PNG where they belong....the #2 spot.

Does anyone know what teams are in the Dayton Tournament?

Good to know PNG will face BC in the Dayton Tournament.  They will determine if PNG should be in the #2 spot.

PNG is 12-3, but two of those losses came to 3A Buna over the weekend.

With that being said then, BH #1, Buna #2, PNG #3. BC plays 3A OF today and then Kelly. Considering all the competition the other teams have had, BC should not be ranked Top 5.  I do think they will make the playoffs but I don't think they will go as far as they have done the last three years.

Interesting that Bridge City stays at 2 after losing to Baytown Sterling in 4 sets.

I agree with you.  Bridge City has only played four games.  Two of them were Dayton and United. Sterling has been their only competition so far. PNG should be in 2nd place knowing they are 12-3.  If they were still playing each other August 25 like they were suppose to, then it would determine who actually should be in 2nd place.

I agree. I expect LCM to win district or come in 2nd to Vidor. I heard that BC lost their stud freshman to a injury and their senior setter graduated. They won't be as good as they were last year.

Yes...that is true.  Heard she will be back towards the end of District. Their powerhouse will be Demi Carter. I know BC only lost one Senior, so their whole team will be back.  How many are returning for LCM and Vidor?  Should be a fun season to watch between those three teams.

New Caney WF will be freshman and sophomores only.    I still believe this program will be on the rise in both volleyball and basketball.  BC and Huffman will more than likely represent southeast texas at the 4a level, along side Liberty.

I think LCM and Vidor will surprise some people.  They both have New coaches and returning players.

I was informed by quality back room sources the Nederland head vball coach is a done deal getting offered & taking the head vball coaching job at png.

Good for her.  Sometimes change is good.  She has made a heck of an impact at Nederland.  She is a very good coach.

Heard Nederland Coach applied. But PNG pays way better than BC, the PNG volleyball coach also includes women’s AD. Something that BC can’t and won’t ever do. BC pay is far behind.

The AC for PNG now needs to retire or just be the golf coach.  McDaniel would be a good fit there at PNG.  She has made a mark at Nederland.  I think she could turn the program around and get them back in the playoffs. It all depends on the talent you have too.

Was told PNG is ready to throw big money at the BC Head Coach….

BC coach is not leaving. She has another year to possibly make the playoffs. But y’all will be shocked to hear who applied and who will likely be getting the job.

Since it hasn’t been announced I won’t say anything, but I know her personally, she is young, she is hungry and she is competitive. She has coached a super small private school to the state championship I think it’s three years in a row now and has started up a travel team. I’m not sure why you wouldn’t like where she went to HS, but it’s a mid county school. I think she will do good things at Vidor!

Now that PN-G is open, ya think she will apply there instead.
