I do not know why you would want any coach that currently coaches the secondary and OL to return. Those key positions at Nederland have been absolutely horrible the past 2 years. The secondary even longer than that. In fact the receivers, LB’ers, and QB’s haven’t been good either. The DL coaches did a fair job and they had 1 good RB, other than that, the Bulldogs didn’t have much That is why spring ball will help him evaluate talent and begin to get his program established and hopefully some players that quit and walking the halls will come back

The key is for him to get a very good OC and especially DC. They need quality coaches at all positions, especially the OL and secondary I sure hope he can do it. I am not really a spring training guy due to other sports going on at the same time and the loss of a scrimmage, however he has got to find out and evaluate the talent he has even though a few players in other sports will miss out

What needs to happen imo is for 6A to have 2 divisions like 1A through 5A and also add a 7A and get the district numbers to where there isn’t such a large difference in enrollment numbers and try to have no more than 6 teams in a district

Yes it does and that makes it weaker than well water. I guess that is what happens when you go 6-15 the past 2 seasons and the program has a losers mentality philosophy!

Hopefully he will hire a very good staff and start getting the Bulldogs back to n track. I know when I visited with Neumann shortly after he got the job, he was extremely excited on how hard the kids worked. Is course Neumann had some very good assistants like Spell and Pate Hire good people, sell the program and the players will work Best wishes to the new staff

Hope that coach Rich can turn things around at Nederland. The only things I have heard about him is that he played for Dodge and a Nederland board member and he played together I don’t know how the guy from DeSoto would have been, but very thankful they didn’t pick guy from Lumberton I have not heard anything good about him ever Anyway good luck to Coach Rich

The Bulldog basketball team appears to doing what the PAM football team did at the end of the season and that is fold the tent. The Bulldogs better get it together A couple of losses this week and they may be sitting at the house along with PNG

If they wanted an easy win, they have agreed If they wanted an opponent to get them ready for district, they would have declined They could have possibly tried Barbers Hill, LaPorte, Galveston Ball, Texas City for better competition, but in my opinion they went the easy route with WOS and Silsbee since they have been playing each other. These are positives for WOS and Silsbee and a negative for the Bulldogs. I would imagine that their 1st opponent will possibly weaker that those 2

Not so fast Mr Falcon. Coaches usually have an idea, a month or so before getting their packets and of course you have to see what is available. You can rest assured that the interim AD at Nederland had already spoken to the WOS and Silsbee coach about playing each other before Feb. 1

I said that because Nederland has been horrible. Silsbee is always overrated Did you see the score between them and Bellville? So you are correct, playing and getting beat by WOS and Silsbee was bad. This is what I have been trying to tell everyone Nederland has been terrible the years under the current staff They got worse as the years progressed, players quit the team due to the coaching staff, there was zero discipline, and extremely poor coaching and IMO this is why they are keeping teams in a classification below them, hoping somehow they can get a win Are you starting to see how bad they have been?

I have no idea who was at the meeting I do know that as usual they took the easy road ad usual. You asked what I would do to help the program, so I gave you some ideas. Obviously if you have watched the Bulldogs the past years under the staff that is there now, you would certainly know that the coaching was horrendous I see PNG went with a pretty good non district schedule other than United

Yes they improved a little, however who did they beat SF, GP, Willowridge, and Dayton and their defense was atrocious Do you people never get tired of them playing down in non district They are 5A D2 and WOS and Silsbee are 4A D2. Nederland should win those games every year Nederland is now in the district with Lake Creek. What was that score in bi-district The 1st thing I would do is hire assistant coaches that teach fundamentals and techniques very well. Next I would begin an offseason where players are accountable for their actions. In other words it is time for very few mistakes and very few penalties You need to love the players while maintaining a very high standard of excellence

I would find some good schools around Houston Katy area, CY Fair area, Pearland, College Station. Some schools that would prepare them better for district

Silsbee is always overrated, WOS is no where close to where they were under Hooks and Thompson, and PAM is so poorly coached(maybe why they folded the tent this past season). None of those teams will get you ready for the tough district they are in I see they have WOS and Silsbee. I guess they will try and get LCM, Lumberton, or United for the other and we wonder why they can’t compete! n

Can anyone give me a valid explanation as to why the Nederland Bulldogs rarely schedule tough non district opponents that will get them ready for district?

I take it that Nederland will once again play 3 non district teams that will not get them ready for district

Neumann got more respect that Barrow due to a much better record If you watched Nederland the past 2 years under Barrow, they looked like a weak 3A team playing a 5A schedule. In other words they were absolutely horrible!

If they choose the one from L-town, it will soon be worse than the previous staff. If you talk to his assistants they will tell you that he knows little about football and is an extremely weak AD

You can rest assured if they were good I would certainly agree and post it and be happy with it. As of now they are not and IMO people need to know it. Especially the new AD or if it HS , the administration Lamar’s FB hire seems to be a good one, however both basketball teams, softball, and baseball hires are not getting the job done at Lamar

I noted that they are a bad basketball team and they are. I noted that they competed better under Price and they did. For some unknown reason you think that 20-58 is a good record. I take it you also think the women’s basketball coach has a better record than Harmony and the softball coach has a better record than Bruner. Some of you simply need to realize that these programs are not very good. As I said they just got beat by a team that was 3-12 Dont want to offend anyone just stating facts You are either good or your not and these programs as of today are not
