One of the two candidates is a high caliber candidate and will come in with eyes wide open and a good plan. Don’t know who the other one is. However, getting good coaches has not been the issue. The issue is admin running good coaches off.

The discussion is about Warren, Kountze and Trinity. There is no comparison. Babin upgraded in competition along with every other aspect of education. Trying to say otherwise makes you a laughingstock. *** I doubt BH has little league coaches on the level of WV.

Benefits of playing "higher level competition" and "everything a kid would want or need". There will be no "Warrens", "Trinity's" or "Kountze's" where he is headed. Anyone comparing WV to BH in terms of what is offered, is engaged in a fool's errand. There is not a single thing better at WV than BH from facilities, academics, athletics, or anything else.

Agreed. Little league coaches are the backbone of WV. No single player is greater than the little league.

Looking forward to seeing the talent level in WV. Probably a good time for the HC to meet with the little league coaches for advising about next steps.

Yep, the coach they planned to hire from the beginning told them to “pound sand” when he got all the information on the district. They will need to find someone who is naive and knows nothing about how schools run or what is needed to build a program. Whomever they end up with is likely to have a new Supt and school board shortly after he is hired. A new coordinator from one of the school types that you mentioned is probably the best bet.

Can’t pin point the exact cause. Like most situations it is a combination of factors. However, the ultimate responsibility of financial and staff mismanagement lies with the superintendent and school board. All of whom will be dismissed by the state in short order and replaced by a state board.

The current situation in Coldspring is unprecedented for Coldspring.

A fairly naive question understanding that you failed to read the question (or at least lost track of what was stated). Barbay has not been there in 11 years. Several coaches "made it work" in the past including Ken Stanley. What is happening right now has never happened in the district before. That is why TEA will be taking control in a few weeks and burning the district down. Did that happen when Barbay was there? Also, do you suppose that Barbay had an athletic budget?

Probably trying to get the first train out. Found out what Ken Stanley was dealing with. Coldspring might be the single greatest dumpster fire in SETX. District in the red with no athletic budget, community will not pass a bond for terrible facilities, TEA taking over after this year and will be subsequently burning the district down while implementing the new "HISD" pay plan that no decent teacher in the state will touch.

Kountze should be another team who will struggle to win a game. Having Tarkington and Kountze could save CS from being 0-10.

That would be the other possibility. I believe Buna will be a bit too much for CS and Tarkington. I think CS scheduled Kelly again. That could be a win also.

No chance to be competitive. Coldspring would have exited the Battle of San Jacinto if admin had let them. I imagine the BOSJ will end up like the "Rice Bowl" with EC and HF.

Got a chance to beat Coldspring. Could be the only win for either team. Shepherd will be non-competitive. I doubt Shepherd would have been on the schedule if the HC was staying.

Believe whatever you want to believe. Newton would beat the brakes of Yoakum.

There has been no “area growth”. Enrollment declined and will do so again at next alignment. Will be 3A again next time. The current success in athletics is driven by the talent in the JR class. Going to be a struggle when they graduate.

There has been no “big step forward” on facilities in Shepherd. Better than Tarkington but no one else.
