My expectation is that we will see a better week 1 BH team than last year. Abseck started his BH career with a good team, but took the reins mid summer. His first full year was a rebuild and now he has most of that team coming back. I think the only real question coming in the year was the O-Line. I think we will see the normal rust of a 1st game, but the passing game should get sharp quick. Hoping to see a better running game this year, but we will see.

The O-line will be big (around 285lb average), but I heard not a lot of depth there. Most of the line has varsity experience. I still think Mag West will be tough in the trenches, which is what happened last year. After that, BH will probably manhandle the rest of the schedule in the trenches. The one area that worries me is on the defensive side with the secondary. Hopefully, the front 7 can pressure QB’s to make quick throws. If not, we’re going to be in a lot of shootouts.

Where are all the people coming from? Humble about to build another MS that will feed SC. BH, Crosby, Dayton all hitting a growth spirt at the same time? Sheesh

Dayton just started a 15k home community, Mont Belvieu is about pour roads on a 5k home community and Crosby has pockets of new homes popping up. The growth towards the northeast and far east is starting to build up steam.

Are they saying WF will open in 4A? Wondering how the lines will be drawn for Porter and NC?

I think I messed up because I seen other sports showing playing HJ and Huffman district. I just assumed. Didn’t realize they don’t have varsity yet.

This is an incredibly arrogant statement.  Barbers Hill is no juggernaut.  For that matter Crosby is not juggernaut either.  Nederland is a solid team. Equally solid to every other team in this district.  This will be a great game.  It will be a hard fought win no matter who comes out on top.  Good luck to both teams!!!

I've only watched 4 games this year and the district is far from being solid. There's Crosby, BH and then everyone else. Crosby took advantage of 6 turnovers and that's why the score was lopsided when they played. I think Crosby was 10-14 points better this year without the turnovers. The rest of the district is atrocious this year. That's facts, just not a good year for our district football wise. Crosby and BH are district juggernauts, but not regional juggernauts by any means. I don't think people are being arrogant, just being honest.

I definitely get this arrogant vibe from you the way you make condescending comments towards other people and their programs. So I dont mind trying to serve you some humble pie. Remember you "expect this team to be playing in December ". Crosby's overall playoff is 24-29. In yalls history yall have made the playoffs 29 times, only making it past the 2nd round 4 times. I'm not great at math but I'd say thats 14% give or take. Yall dont have a history of even getting to the 3rd round much less December. In the last decade yall have made it past the 2nd round 1 time. You're confident this team can make it to December because the competition is not as strong. Teams have moved out of the division and now this expectation is hoisted like a battle flag. All I'm saying is instead of making these bold statements that your program has not historically been able to accomplish, you just chill and play nice. Although Crosby is the mecca they arent some juggernaut that you like to make them out to be.

Lol, Crosby won't even win district. LOL

B.H. & P.N.G. will dominate in the district & when they play it will be a highly intense competitive series. Both have solid hitting & pitching returning, Nederland has hitters returning but has to find some pitching fast. Which ever team makes the least mistakes will come out as champs. Nederland better worry about holding off P.A., Vidor & Dayton for a playoff spot.

Here are the legit batting averages from last year

    Grant- .349, Butler- .333, Holton- .307, Cunningham- .285, Chandler- .220

Good pitching beats good hitting almost everyday of the week. LOL

The district title is Barbers Hill's to lose, solid pitching, great depth & their batting lineup will be very hard to keep from scoring plenty of runs. The Cauley kid is a hitting machine.

Png has a very good, well coached team with a couple of players with the potential to be dominate on the mound, if they can step up in big games. Coach Carter will have to work some purple magic to slip by BH. C. Roccaforte & D. Guidry will be 2 of the best hitters in district.

Nederland lost 4 starters & top notch defensive players at SS, 2nd, 1st & CF  which also were the 1,2, & 3 batters in the lineup. 3 quality starting pitchers will also be gone to graduation along with a ton of senior leadership & experience. W.Butler, R.Cunningham & K.Grant are as good as any players in the district, but if the younger guys don"t step up at the plate & especially on the mound the dogs will struggle.

That's why I was saying Ned third, of course anything can happen, but it's going to be tough to replace your #1 and #2 pitcher along with Hiltz in the lineup. My son told me that Hiltz was the toughest batter he faced all year, and that's saying a lot. Was Marz a senior last year too?

Crosby's o-line coach went to CC Miller to be the OC. How can CC Miller lose 72-35 to a 5 win team like Vidor was, miss the playoffs completely after a 6 win season then go 12-1 this year missing the regional final by a turnover? The answer to your question is because it's next year Hawking. They also have very good talent comparable to their district the same way Crosby does. No one is predicting that at BH because no one at BH thinks y'all can. They saw how physically outmatched y'all were, same would've happened with FB Marshall, A&M Con. and Huntsville too.The Manvel fans on their thread during the game said they thought Willowridge was better than BH and said the only reason y'all were 11-1 is because y'all hadn't played anybody, which kind of rubbed me. BH doesn't matchup, they're coached up which is a good thing in most cases. Now the best player you've ever had is leaving and unless y'all give another one of our kid's mom a job we're not sending you anymore.

I didn't always predict Crosby would win the region after we won district either. We've seen it done and did it without one D1 signee that year. With the way Coach P had the kids playing at the end of the season mixed with what we have coming back and the fact that we will actually have an offseason this year, I expect Crosby to be a lot better if healthy. Crosby being a lot better stratified with FB Marshall and Huntsville being hit hard by graduation only leaves A&M Con. as a real worry which would be a 3rd round game as it sits now. Just like I told you how FB Marshall would win the region over Manvel after you said they were going to lose to A&M Con, I'm telling you this now so don't be surprised.

If Crosby wins district, they have a chance to go 3 rounds, place 2-4 in district and your done in round 2. Mark it down, quote me, whatever. Crosby would've did the same as BH. Crosby would lose just as bad to Manvel or FB Marshall this year. BH has had the 1st round jinx and Crosby 2nd round jinx. Congrats, Crosby for the most part a one more playoff win team. Ya'll not going to no Regional Final next year. It's like pure comedy.

BH always avoided going to the Golden triangle area.  They finally had to when teams dropped down like Lumberton and Livingston.  It wasn't trying to avoid Baytown.

Once again, we've never avoided any district. You realize that we have basically won district in every sport while in the golden triangle last two years except for football last year? You guys crack me up.

BH South 8A doing good as well,  7-0 in district so far going into last game next week vs BH North 8A.
36-0 vs Crosby, 28-0 vs Dayton... good group.  I’m not sure how the BH 7th grade teams are doing, but I hear Dayton’s 7A team is top dawg in the district. I heard they are real nice,   they are wining all their games pretty decisively.

Middle School football is no indication of how HS will be. Nice record though.
