Not game related, but why could we not hear the choir singing the national anthem and prayer?

Thanks, made it

Still raining in Crosby?

I am not for any of the noise makers being allowed in the stadiums, nor the bands blasting out trying to make it difficult for the opposing team to hear their snap count.

I could not believe how the last minute in regulation play unfolded. The game should not have gone into overtime. In the overtime period, after Charli Collier fouled out and Madison Armer already out, the Eagles chances of a win were slim. As stated in an earlier post, the meltdown was indeed a team effort. I watched both games Friday and thought that Barbers Hill was clearly the best team there, but sometimes the best team does not win. I can only imagine how disappointed the players, parents, and coaches are.

The Broncos are losing 35 seniors from last years squad who were experienced and talented, and as we all know went 4-6. This year there are a lot less seniors and a few underclassmen who made the varsity or were brought up during the season. The porous defense from last year has to be much improved if we are to be in the playoff picture, not to mention better offensive line play overall. I saw a very good JV squad play a number of games last year and I hope that exceptional talent translates well on the varsity level the next two years.

Oldschool2 is correct. It is "possible to triple team someone when they have the ball and still be able to cover all 5 players when that one person doesn't have the ball." Canyon simply doubled-downed it's strong-side guard and brought the weak-side helper as the third defender. Personally, however, I believe your question has merit because we may have forced passes and did not test Canyon's "help and recover/help the helper defense." Without a doubt, Canyon proved to be the better team. I just don't believe Canyon's players are 30 points better than BH's players.
Credit goes to Canyon's fundamental defense and BH's turnovers for BH's limited shots per quarter.
I totally agree with all of your comments Hoopster. Old School's assertion that it is possible to double/triple down on the post and still recover to effectively defend the perimeter etc. is true, it is not probable do it consistantly against a good outside shooting team like BH.

Great win and team effort ladies. Taking charges, dishing dimes, blocking shots and playing good defense. Way to represent "The Hill."

Yes, kind of embarrassing, especially when we are hosting our good neighbors from Barbers Hill.
