  1. So as stated in a few post earlier, it is because they are going to be an administrator. So answer this for me. What is a masters degree in Kinesiology, History, Biology, or many others going to do for me as an administrator. They are not going to teach you anything you need to know about being an admin in these classes. If you said a masters in business or education i might could buy it but not just a masters. It basically means that as an admin, I am not going to have a head coach/AD making the same money as me without a masters. It will do nothing to help him in administration.
  2. Busing is the least of what the tax payers are paying for. Do you realize how many programs there are in the country that your taxes pay for, that give money to people that can't or better yet won't take care of themself and their kids. It is staggering.
  3. bearbooster, Not arguing right or wrong, I was just stating what a coach told me when I said 2, and Sunday I talked to a schoolboard member and they told me 23-24. I thought they would know what they were talking about, guess I was wrong. Thanks, the switch is going great, I hope to learn alot from their coaching staff.
  4. There is not 40 applicants, there are about 23-24 at this time. This information comes from someone that will be partly responsible for hiring the new AD. As of Sunday Jan. 11 there were about 23-24. Still more than anyone expected. They also said that they know they have to hire a good coach this time around.
  5. The info that I got came from one of the coaches at the school. He said at the time that only two had applied. Maybe more have since last week, but I haven't heard any names. Admin, you seem to know, so who else has applied besides Crouch and Bolton, give us some names.
  6. He has played in many games as a Freshman and Sophmore, He played in a couple of play-off games as a Freshman. He is very calm and has a great, yes I said great throwing arm. He should be just fine as the starter next year.
  7. Yea right, only in your wildest dreams!!! ??? ??? ??? Hey Coop, where are yall getting the helmet that everyone has, it appears that you can fix it up any way you want it?
  8. Dupree was there, but that was longer that 15 years ago, also longer than 15 was Wozniak after Dupree, and 2 or three others after Wozniak, Lucky Gamble was one of them, can't remeber the other ones. Then David Williams and then the infamous Moody.
  9. Slam all I am saying is I think we put the cart before the horse. I like the scoreboard, I just think I was unnecessary at the time. You did not offend me, I just want to make sure that everyone knows I would never down these kids, I have a big place in my heart for all of them. It is truly unfair that they have had to deal with what they have in our past coaching. It seems like anytime we have a good class of kids, we have terrible coaching, seems to be LCM's legacy, other than DW.
  10. I have never talked bad about one player on the team, as a matter of fact I coached a bunch of them and know them well. My point about the score board is that the money could have been used for better things, I believe that it cost 90,000.00. That would have gone a long way to buying new equipment for the JR high level that needed it badly. I know that up until a few years ago LCJH was still playing in helmets, shoulder pads and leg pads that were from the 1970's. They have bought some new equipment but some are still playing in shoulder pads from 1974. The money could have been use for better things that actually might help the program. I agree it is nice, but then nice never won a football game. Slam14, I never said anything about cheerleaders and band and all of that stuff. Matter of fact my daughter is a cheerleader at LCM, but I will stand by my opinion the score board was a little premature. Also don't start believing that it is a big deal to the kids, it wasn't bought for them in the first place, it was bought for an ego maniac of a coach that wanted to be able to say look what I did.
  11. Well if that is the case, then I am sure glad that WOS dosn't have one they would probably just kill people if they got fired up for a game. I think until your program can back up all of that crap you have no business acting like you are the baddest team in the district. To me that is kind of like smack talk, it just makes you look worse when you do it and get your but kicked. All the flash and glamour in the world will not make you play better, it has to start with the program. Just ask Moody!
  12. IMO, the new scoreboard should be turned off, except for the score keeping portion, all that pregame crap and loud music and fanatical crap makes you look stupid when you get your but kicked every game.
  13. Could not agree more, Slogans will not win football games.
  14. How about instead of making up something that was stolen from another program like BOJO from MOJO. Let the program start to win and define itself and let a slogan come out of your own program. If you build a program that the kids and community are proud to support, you really don't need a slogan, but one will come out of a successful program. JMO
  15. I have asked why a masters degree is required also, the answers are administrative duties, laws and etc. I really don't understand how a masters degree in PE or History or Biology are going to help a coach be any better at administrative work. I doubt very seriously that they are going to teach you much about that in any of these classes. Now if it was a masters in business or education maybe, but that is still a stretch. In my opinion it is an ego thing with the school administrators, they don't want someone making the same money as them without a masters. JMO
  16. elhector1, I assume you are referring to my post, I did not say anything about the rings that were purchased, I could really care less. I think it is great that they went undefeated. I happen to know a lot of kids from both schools MMS and LCJH. What gets me is when on a different post about LCM there are some people that appear to be from Mauriceville rubbing it in LC's face and then bashing the kids and the parents of LC. You spoke of letting it go in your post, how about the fact that LCM was founded in 1971, 37 years ago and the people of Mauriceville can't let it go. I understand that the High School is located in an inconvenient place but it has been for 37 years and there is not a lot we can do about it, it is what it is, get over it. When the bond committee brought up building a new centrally located Jr High the answer was not no but, well you get the point. The opposition was from Mauriceville. Because of the situation with the High School. In my opinion one of the biggest problems that we have, other than the coach that we had, is the fact that the two communities don't get along. Mauriceville would rather be on their own than be a part of LCM. You are right people need to let it go and do what is best for the entire community of kids. The people that made the decision to consolidate are more than likely not still living or not in this area anymore, what ever the case, it has been 37 years get over it and move on.
  17. Especially if you only play 8th grade against 7th grade and 7th grade against 7th grade B teams. That would be every coaches dream, unfortunately you cannot play an all JV schedule, you have to play the varsity teams.
  18. As one of the bus drivers that brought the kids home everyday after practice, I can tell you that it involved all but maybe 5 of the freshmen, so that would be about 25 kids, and about 15 to 20 JV and Varsity kids, so about 45 kids is all, considering WOS only has about 50 - 60 kids in the entire program I guess thats not many by some peoples standards. I can assure you that grades do come before football there, that is why it is mandatory that every player attend tutorials. Don't go talking about what you don't know.
